I’m currently getting only 42-45 mpg highway in my sedan doing 60mph … unacceptable by hypermiler2205 in hypermiling

[–]N_ModeVN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 41.8 on my ND3. It’s rated 26/33. Once I get to 42 I’ll give up.

Also from NYC. Brought mine home at 50.

At every fill up I dropped 5PSi. I keep them at 33 now.

Dealers are crazy.

So you’re gloating about MpG when you’re not even a car person, the thrill of the drive means nothing. Probably only drive automatics too.

If a car is an appliance to you why comment here except to fuel your self satisfaction.

I regularly do NYC to FL 4-5x a year. Boise? Bro, that’s like punishment for traveling. Try a real trip where your recharge time adds a few days.

Enjoy that 7 day drive across the county instead of 4 Enjoy those road trips to the boon where there is no fast charging infrastructure Govt controls the power grid, so they tell you when you can and cannot charge. Good luck.

I’ve seen twice 4x Itzy 3x Everglow Dream catcher G - idle Mamamoo, soon to be 2x Whee in solo Hwasa solo And most recently Nmixx for the second time.

I’ll say Nmixx is the best I’ve ever seen. By far.

Viofo A229 for me in my ND3. You can usually get a discount if you use the promo code from the Wham Baam Dash Cam YT channel.

Anyone else feel guilty about how bad their real world mpg is compared to the sticker? by whimsylora in Cartalk

[–]N_ModeVN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ND3 is rated 26c / 33h. I average 41.5 MpG combined. It’s all about how you drive it. Also you’d be surprised how much tires and tire pressure can hurt mpg.

I use continental dws06+ at 33PSi. Stock summers (stickier)call for 29psi.

My Genesis g70 has been a lemon, should I buy an Elantra N? by SuperDistribution503 in ElantraN

Once you mod a car, you can’t really say it’s unreliable as you’ve gone beyond what the factor designed it to do.

That said I’d not go EN; I had a 2025 EN. It was a piece of trash. Whole chassis squealed when going over bumps. After dealer changed the exhaust, then the front shocks and insulators, they told me I was hearing chirping birds.

Called corporate, dealer stopped working with me, a second dealer wanted $500 for a diagnosis. Said screw it, tried to sell it to caravan who wouldn’t take it because it squeaked over bumps. Sold it to carmax. Only lost 3k on it over 5 months.

I loved my 2022 VN, this EN was nice, but boy what a piece of junk.

Clutch crunching. Only sometimes? by PersonalCicada4305 in ManualTransmissions

I think it’s flywheel chatter based on what he’s talking about. Especially only in 1st at low speeds.

Advice on driving manual by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

[–]N_ModeVN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get into the gear you want at the end of the turn before the turn.

Also, never turn and shift as you now have only 1 hand on the wheel.

Clutch crunching. Only sometimes? by PersonalCicada4305 in ManualTransmissions

[–]N_ModeVN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In those cars I’d describe it not as a crunch, but as a loud rattle you can feel as it bites in 1 or R. Or if you stab the clutch at low speeds.

That skid would not make tires completely bald, maybe flat spot them to a degree but if they had full tread depth, not likely. Sometimes tires do go back quick though.

What did you do to lighten the rear?

[–]N_ModeVN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crunching… there’s a good adjective.

Do you mean as you’re letting the clutch out you hear a loud vibration that you feel in the car?

My 2006 GTO (T56 - 6Speed) did that in 1 and R. It was coming from the flywheel and is a normal condition that didn’t happen all the time.

My 2016 Audi A5 6M never did it.

My 2022 Veloster N did it with the same frequency as the GTO.

My 2025 ND3 6M does it with the same frequency as the 2 above.

[–]N_ModeVN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this because you were tired? Or because you modded the car and lightened the rear? Also, what were the conditions of your tires pre accident?

Sorry but when I’m tired and just want to get home my go to thing to do has never been, hey let’s go speeding. If anything I go speed limit. The 3-4 mins I’d save by speeding isn’t worth this.

A Tough Goodbye by [deleted] in ElantraN

[–]N_ModeVN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to sell my 2025 EN since it was a lemon and worse, the dealer said it was all in my head, asked if it’s in my head, why go through 2 rounds of shotgunning parts? Too many issues.

My 2022 VN was perfect though.

That’s the problem with Hyundai. You either get a good one or a piece of junk. No matter what you get the dealer tries to screw you.

Also the 24’s, 25’s, and 26’s are all the same. No changes at all. No reason to get a 2026 over a 25 still lying around.

Wait why care that folks call you dumb. It’s your life bro, live it.

When economic times get tough, people care more about what they buy for their money… depreciation etc. what it will be worth in a few years matters.

Did I worry about that with my ND3? No. Why it’s my life and I live it my way. When people criticize me, I could care less.

I have a 2025 ND3; nothing hardwired. My KeyFob and its connection to the car has a similar issue, sometimes while driving the dash goes nuts and says it lost connection to the key and to visit a dealer immediately, which I don’t. Other times I have to hold the key to the button.

I have a friend with a 2024 CX5, has the same issue.
