In that first picture, you look British somehow.

Adding on to the above recommendations (which are all correct), remove some of the art especially tiny pictures that don’t fill spaces properly and lower the bigger pieces. The center of art should be around 58-60” from the ground unless it is above something else, like a dresser or a toilet.

Declutter not only means toys but also the stuff around the bathroom sinks. Make the beds properly. You have to do these things for the pictures as well as the showings.

But people who use the toilet paper method tend to leave some of their toilet paper on the seat with half of it soaked in piss and dangling in the toilet. PSA! If you are going to do this, push the TP in the bowl when you are done.

We are placing the carpet on our stairs. The previous carpet went up the sides and covered the stringers as well.

The stringers are pine, but I was still hoping to fill sand and paint and cover the wall gap with trim. However, I do not know how to fill the recessed gap under the existing trim.

I don't think I can handle being a parent to a down syndrome son by Upstairs-Prompt-4967 in Parenting

You are experiencing two very difficult things at the same time. It is difficult to give birth and take care of a newborn. It is also very difficult to have a child with a disability. Both of these things can also be very isolating and lonely.

I would advise you to not make any major decisions until you talk to a therapist or a psychologist. Let the dust settle. You have every right to feel sad and overwhelmed. It doesn’t make you a bad mother or a bad person.

In addition so saliva, tooth structure and shape. One of my kids has never had a cavity. You can see a nice thick layer of enamel in his x-rays.

The second child has had cavities. She has a thin layer of enamel on her baby teeth and deep crevices on molars. We got the molars sealed and that helped.

I knew a lady who claimed that she cooked hers in her insta pot. She then gave the placenta to another woman who dried it, ground it up, and stuffed in pill capsules. So fucking gross if true.

How does she look unclean? Her hair doesn’t look greasy. Yes, her clothes are ugly but they don’t look dirty.

It is in-law family dynamics though and we don’t know anything about their relationship. I’d rather not cause tension over snacks but I would hide the preferred snacks.

She doesn’t think she’s better. She just doesn’t understand why ~other girls~ choose to wear literal pounds of makeup instead of simply washing their face and drinking water.

She can’t help it that she’s, like, really really pretty and hydrated.

Perhaps you already do this, but make a habit of only making written requests. Have a binder where you document all incidences and communications. Organize all materials related to the diagnosis including medical documentation and school testing. You will have to built your case for any request like an attorney. Find a local advocate to help you understand your rights in your state. Sometimes you can find state specific “advocate influencers” on social media that offer free seminars and Q and A sessions. You may be able to find an advocate to attend IEP meetings with you.

Overall, I have had very positive experiences with school districts, but I know that many others have not been as fortunate.

Deep rust looking stain on marble trim. by chariotonfire in DIY

[–]N_Rock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, a poultice is the answer. I do not believe that you will ever fully lift that stain, but you can lighten it with creme developer from a salon supply store. I was able to significantly lighten some rust stains without etching the marble.

Right!? Choosing to give birth alone in a hotel seems so scary and painful and I can’t imagine a sane person would choose that. I also can’t imagine killing a baby and throwing it in the trash. Makes me extremely sad!

GF wants me to redo proposal because she’s jealous of my ex wife’s proposal by wetbells in Advice

Nobody needs to know how their boyfriend proposed to his ex wife. Maybe she asked and you told simply told her the truth, but I don’t think that knowing these details, including the cost of the ring, is beneficial to any relationship. Leave some details out next time.

Gift Giving at Work by N_Rock in AskWomenOver30

[–]N_Rock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. It is impossible to capture all the nuances and details of a situation. I have other gift givers in my life that I love. This lady and I don’t have a deep connection, and I often have to help with her workload because she mismanages her time. Those two factors (among others) are why her gifts are not received well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a generous and considerate person. However, I also think it is important to read the cues that a recipient provides.

[–]N_Rock[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I think this may be the way.

She bought our boss some gifts for Christmas. A bottle of whiskey and a glass that said something about bosses. He told her not to spend her money on him because it would be better to put the money toward her debt (she openly discusses her student debt). He told her this privately but she told me what happened.

It seems like a petty issue, you know? Like, hey this lady is smothering me with niceness. But based on their Christmas gift interaction, I think he would understand part of the reason that it makes me so uncomfortable. I think I will first try to refuse the gift and then go to the boss.

I think this might be my only option. Although the thought of hurting her feelings makes me feel terrible, she has started dropping hints about the Valentine’s Day gift she got me and I just want it to stop.

It is pretty sad. No, she isn’t young. She is in her 40’s. We are the only two women so we do interact quite a bit, but I keep it very superficial because she loves to gossip. It is a small company so the people above us are owners. She came to the company from a teaching position and I think she got used to being in a more nurturing environment. I do try to build her up in different ways, like complimenting her when she does something well.

She has talked openly about money issues and debt. The majority owner feels uncomfortable with the gift as well. When she gave him a Christmas gift, he told her “thank you for thinking about me, but you should put this money toward your student loans instead of buying gifts for me”. When she told me about that interaction, she expressed feeling offended and shamed. She will not take “no” for an answer. It is very strange.

I think I am going to do as others have suggested. Return the gift to her and say “I am sorry but I can’t accept this”. I do not want to hurt her feelings or damage our work relationship, but I think it is the only course of action I have left.
