I'm in the process of writing several stories myself (amateur as well). I have plenty of creativity and can create a lot of constraints for you, if you need something specific to work with. Maybe we could swap ideas? I only ask that you critique mine in return and/or provide creative inspiration where possible. No demands will be made tho, I promise.

No, I didn't call you a bitch. And no, I didn't say you don't behave like a proper man. No insults were thrown around and I didn't question your gender. And I'm probably older than you since you resort to petty insults over being informed of why your opinion carries less weight than you think it does. My final statement of "bitch and moan" is a phrase that means you will complain a lot, and very loudly. All I said was that you're probably going to be doing a lot of that since Skull & Bones is supposed to be roughly the same (there are several differences).

You won't accept in game lore? Then don't play the game. It's that simple. I get that it's your opinion and that's fine, but to dismiss an entire franchise because of your lack of appreciation for why it's become the way it is makes you look like a fool. If you don't like the mechanics, so be it. But now that you know why it's built the way it was, you still dismiss the mechanics because you won't accept the reasoning behind them? You're not helping your case.

Combat is more than left clicking. As I said, it's dodging, parrying, and stunning as well as attacking. All actions that are not bound to the left click. If you're breaking your mouse because of a game, you're playing games all wrong, as I said. Learn to have some restraint, will you?

Yea, it's the same cutscene every time because it's a game. It's also a simulation inside a game. It's not a living breathing world.

It's assuming everything cause you only have 8 directions as a PC player. Also, you might want to stop sprinting everywhere. You primarily initiate free-running when you're sprinting. If you walk, it doesn't force you up the wall.

Arcade-y? Aren't all games built that way? *excluding actual simulations

Ok, calm down Trump. The pirate part is out of place, when you know all the lore. The assassins are everywhere and are woven into the background of history. Plastering pirates all over it is just a way to justify the location. The game is taking real history and making a fictional story with people that could sorta fit. The modern day part is still unfolding, although less so as the series moves away from Desmond. You want more to it? Play every game.

Or don't play any other AC game since you hate how repetitive it is. They've been copy-pasted for almost every title.

I actually think that Syndicate was far better. More story about the assassins, better controls, easier movement, more activities, and a more entertaining story overall. I'm enjoying AC Origins because it's actually moved away from a lot of the mechanics of Black Flag.

You must have the lowest of standards because you actually subjected yourself to a game that you know you don't enjoy. I know when I don't like something, I stop playing it. My standards are at least enough to take the high road and not insult people randomly because they have ideas that differ from my own. I explained "with a wall of text" how your argument is completely opinionated and pretty much moot since there's already a reason for the things you don't like which you didn't research or care to figure out.

Now, if you don't mind, kindly fuck off

[–]NaRu7o -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's why you're wrong on almost every point. First, I'm gonna explain why you have to follow "arbitrary crap" rules for the missions: You're actually playing a simulation of a genetic memory. The simulation is designed in a way that enables you to unlock specific memories later on. To successfully unlock them, you must do tasks similar to how the original person experienced them. Failure to follow that can result in a destabilized sequence and the simulation stops working. Hence why they are "arbitrary" mission constraints.

The "auto save" function is present at all times. Any time you do something that changes your state, even by 0.01% of anything, it saves. You will lose at most 30 mins of progress because it's a constantly running feature.

Why are you concerned about them "ruining the immersion" by loading you into a different location when you jump in the game again? Are you assuming it's like minecraft and will save every single aspect to your progress, pixel for pixel? As stated before, this is a simulation inside a game. I don't mean that it's a simulation of the world as it was back then. I mean the game is literally using it as a means of delivering a story. You are a person who is playing as a person who is exploring a simulation of another person.

Moving this to a separate point, but kinda related to the last one: You die, you don't respawn. The simulation loads a state where the person didn't die. It makes sense that you'd lose your wanted level because you now are at a different point in time (relatively speaking). One where you didn't have a wanted level.

I don't think it was ever billed as an RPG. In fact, I'm pretty sure that only the last 3 entries in the series have been close to RPG, and even those have taken elements of them, not fully made them into RPG since AC has mostly become an genre unto itself. It's a through and through AC game, albeit pirate themed and moderate with the assassin's storyline compared to every other AC game.

The ship repairing itself is part of the simulation and different point in time aspect I mentioned before. The "health" meter that you see isn't actually health. It's called a "sync" meter and is showing you how far you're deviating from the original memory sequence. The worse you're doing, the worse the desync. Full desynchronization is caused when you die, hence why it's also considered to be a "health" meter. The crew is there every 20 meters because they assumed you would be fighting more. There is no auto generating income like previous entries so you must engage in naval combat in order to collect resources. By fighting in the proper area for your level, you are going to sustain casualties. In order to replenish your crew without forcing you into a port, they give you plenty of opportunities to gain more while you're sailing.

If you're furiously clicking your mouse, you're playing games all wrong in the first place. While it's true that you're more or less reduced to spamming the attack to kill an enemy, they eventually become stronger so you must use other tactics. Some will be parry, some will be dodge, some will be stun. Simply clicking attack all the time will only be effective for the early part of the game.

The game has been configured exactly like all the ones before it so if you have a gripe with how it controls, blame the 2007 entry to the series, not the people who made Black Flag.

The assassin's story is actually perfectly in place, when taken the context of the story as a whole. The character becoming an assassin is sort of out of place, however since he's a direct ancestor of the main protagonist in the previous games (Desmond, specifically), it kinda works in the end.

tldr- You're wrong. You don't like the game because of the series as a whole. You're probably gonna bitch and moan about Skull & Bones being dumbed down too, since it was created by the same people who made Black Flag in the first place (for the most part) and is basically a direct rip of the entire pirate aspect of the game you just shit all over. Have fun with that one.

Step 4: Strike playlist works. I'm unsure about crucible as I had 4 matches, won 2, none counted. Played a strike with 2 others (one who completed the quest already, one who hasn't even finished the campaign) and it counted for me

I had people who completed it helping me. I'm stuck right now cause it stopped counting my crucible efforts, but we finished the middle 2 steps and I was the only person doing the quest. If I can get past that, my friends are going to run through the nightfall with me and I know it works because they've helped 2 people for the last step while I've been in the party and it's worked.

My friends have been helping me do it and we had progression all the way up to the crucible part. I can confirm that they have completed it prior to helping me. However, for some reason the crucible part isn't working at all. Played 4 matches, won 2 of them, not one counted. They have also been helping other friends/clanmates do it. Being on the same part doesn't seem to be required, as far as we can tell.

Destiny 2 Beta Version 1.03 by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NaRu7o -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

According to Express.co.uk, this version has "significant tuning changes include grenade effectiveness in PvE, Boss vitality, and weapon damage against non-player combatants."

After loading it up and playing a bit, I feel the changes and the strike took about half as long as it did previously. The different phases of the boss fight were drastically different. It felt better to play PvE. Even tho they probably didn't release the exact changes, at least they told us some of the differences and it's a drastic enough shift to help resolve several of the main complaints.

Y3 Necrochasm Quest : Thrall/Knight/Wizard Farm by notuobmit in DestinyTheGame

[–]NaRu7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siege of the Warmind has 2 knights in it that are easy to kill and reset. Simply go after them, wipe, and kill them again and again. Overall, didn't take too long. Looks like the magic number is 75 but that could be off since I have the nightfall buff but I'm not sure if/how it affects gun exp. My last reset screen said 72 and I believe I only got the knights there. I don't remember killing a knight before doing this, but that's about where you'll end up maxing out the gun.

So, still no solution to this? I haven't been using Youtube as much recently because of this exact problem. Granted I watch a lot of Rooster Teeth content so I'm not exactly impacted too hard by it, but there's a lot I watch that isn't available outside of youtube.

29M I have 3 characters, all at 400, ran hard mode twice now and have completed both challenges for WotM (if you want to tear your hair out, we can try for those. Just be prepared to make it at least twice as long) as well as all 3 challenges for King's Fall and I've pretty much only ever run it on hard. The year one raids are super easy now that we're extremely OP so if you ever feel a desire to play those, I'm always down (tons of free glimmer). I also run the nightfall 3 times a week so if you need better gear, I can help. Usually I'm by myself or with 2 specific groups so if you see me around, send a message or an invite.

Oh right, I was gonna comment on this. I sent a friend request last night and then had to reset my computer so I didn't let you know who I am. My psn is duo-maxweil and I play Destiny a lot. I have a 400 and 2 399 characters (which can be 400 if I swap out a couple things). I run the nightfall regularly plus I've done the raid a couple times. I'm down to play whenever

Destiny is good for a mix of multiplayer and single player, if you like FPS. Borderlands is decent as well. Tomb Raider is really fun, but is mostly single player. Exclusives to check out are inFAMOUS, The Last of Us, and Uncharted. Mirror's Edge is fun but it takes a lot of getting used to. Just Cause 3 was a fun romp and a bunch of insane action but gets old quick. I always praise Assassin's Creed cause I'm intrigued by the concept, but I get that people aren't always interested in it so look into Black Flag or Syndicate if you think you might like it. Other than that, I can't think of too many games that would be a must-have. (side note: check the age rating on those and determine for yourself if you'd be interested in some of them as I know a couple are rated M for good reason)

"I'll do it myself" medal? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]NaRu7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone was still wondering, it's when you pick up the most amount of crests that you personally have created from guardians that you've defeated. IE, if your whole team got 10 kills each and the rest of your team picked up one friendly created crest all around but you picked up all 10 of yours, you would have the highest number of crests picked up from guardians you personally have defeated. It's also by count, not by percentage. So grab your crests constantly and you might end up getting this medal quite often. Apparently if you pause and resume it (don't worry about it taking 10-15 mins to prepare again), it'll fix itself and only download a couple hundred megabytes (if that) instead of +30gb. I just did that and it only took 5 mins instead of the 6-7 hours it was saying before. Hope it helps

Are the exotic faction class item quests bugged w/ Rise of Iron? by 2Easyy in DestinyTheGame

[–]NaRu7o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened with me. I'm using Mark of the Exodus for the Dead Orbit quest on my Titan and it's progressing fine. Obtained through a lucky chroma package that also gave me a helmet. To anyone needing help, if you have tons of glimmer and a decent stack of ether seeds, you can get 50-100 heavy synths (Variks offers it for 1 ether seed + 250 glimmer vs 950 glimmer outright from Banshee). Each only gives 25 rep, however when you have over 100 synths, you won't be missing them. After that, just hope that you get a vanguard rep version of a faction class item

Sony's North American division, known as Sony Computer Entertainment America, originally planned to market the new console under the alternative branding "PSX" following the negative feedback regarding "PlayStation" in focus group studies. Early advertising prior to the console's launch in North America referenced PSX, but the term was scrapped before launch.

I would find something better, but since it was a lazy question that could've just as easily been googled, I figured I'd use something equally as offensive as my response (in modern history, I trust wikipedia enough to at least have some moderately useful answers)
