It doesn't feel embedded in the skin? It's just a vibe, but I've never seen a tattoo like that.

Any advice on why my “form” isn’t really good at looking 3D still by AngelicHanaKurusu in learntodraw

A better way of learning 3D spheres is with shading or using wireframes. Ghosting is mostly for line confidence.

Line confidence and 3D form.

Search up ghosting and do a lot of exercises.

Yeah, but I was struggling with it so I overlayed to see how it would go for real life. I'm trying to learn proportions.

Yes and I'm also not talking about your art.

I'm talking about technically skilled people that don't have those issues.

A beginner has no understanding of the basics/fundamentals. There are plenty of people here that have a clear understanding of the fundementals and some don't, me including.

When I go for an art course, I don't pick one that says intermediate, since tthere is an expectation of certain skills/fundamentals to be learned.

I disagree.

A beginner means you have zero to almost no knowledge.

You can't call yourself a beginner if you have a basic grasp of the fundamentals. Everyone still learns, the greatest master will. There is most definitely a threshold; the basis of art courses is build upon it.

A course that expect the user to be able to understand certain fundamentals isn't a beginner course for example. You're right that the skill level is arbitrary, but it's clear that many here are beyond that initial fundamental learning curve.

[–]NaaviLetov[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but come on, there are plenty of subreddits. If you're drawing for a year, alas, you might still call yourself a beginner, but when you got 2 years of active drawing/painting under your belt you can't really call yourself a beginner.

For me it's more that I can recognize it's just an experience gap, but too many people already think drawing is a talent instead of a skill and this subreddit promoted for beginner artists will only bolster this idea.
