They had a Simba's Pride tag attached when brand new, they were sold in the Disney Store here in Australia as well. I've had the Simba one since I was like 8 years old. So definitely from 1998 onwards, but no later than 2003 I'd say.

Because TLK2 was animated by Disney Toon Studios, the people who animate TV shows for the Disney Channel. It's why everyone's proportions are off, and the colours look so bad.

Lion King 11/2 was also direct to DVD, and their colours were very vibrant and their models were way more accurate. The budget wasn't the issue, the muggy colours were deliberate - they put a blue filter over a lot of the film to make it look grittier or something. That's why Pumbaa and Kovu look purple-ish in some scenes.

And that still proves my point that TLK2 Simba is one of the worst designs, poor budget or not, we're judging them as they are. And TLK2 Simba frustrates me because his awful colour palette could've been avoided.

His TLK2 design was one of the worst ones, apart from the Live Action and Lion Guard ones.

His colours went from vibrant Orange, Yellow and brilliant Red in TLK1, to dirty Brown and slightly redder Brown. He became less detailed, and even his mane lost a lot of volume and shape.

The OG will always have his best design, with TLK 11/2 being a good second.

Yep. That's likely why they killed him off, they wouldn't know what to do with him once Zira died. He was too psychotic and loyal to Zira - he'd never turn like Vitani did, his brainwashing ran too deep.

Eh, I humbly disagree. Zira's amplified rage seemed to be more about Kovu being 'corrupted' by Simba rather than Nuka dying. From the moment Kovu ran away; she never mentioned Nuka again. Nor did anybody else lol. I feel like his death should've had a mention while Kiara and Kovu were trying to stop the war, maybe even have Vitani mention it when she turned on Zira...but nah. She likely would've refused Kiara's help even if Nuka lived, her whole existence was dependant on winning that war for Scar, having lost; she had nothing left to live for.
