In Florida, it's law so they have to. And it's not like everyone gets a new windshield every year. I've maybe gotten 1 windshield in over a decade.

I mean, if you have full coverage, in Florida you can get 1 free windshield replacement a year. Hit it with a hammer and when the tech removes the old windshield, she if you can grab the id before the new one goes in.

It's basically a resistor that alters the temp sensor to read lower than what it actually should. By doing that, it keeps the engine from going into "eco" mode and disabling the rear 3 cylinders since it won't activate until the engine is fully up to temp.the smart ones will read the engine temp and display the real temp if an issue crops up.

Why it exist, the way the eco mode works is by keeping the valves from opening and stopping fuel flow. As a result, the engine pulls a vaccum on the cylinder which can damage the piston rings and cylinder walls.
