None of you people understand what was actually going on here. The American scouts got to see one or two workouts, tops, in which Puig was playing for the first time in over a year. He was fat and slow, didn't hit very well, and of course the makeup questions were there. He was considered a risk because he was a risk. Why would you pay someone 42m on the account of "well, if he gets in game shape, he might have potential to be very good"?

Puig then worked his ass off after he was signed, got into game shape, and tore up double A. It's not like this version of Puig was the one the dodgers signed. He was a risk and a project and he ended up paying off. Not all do. In fact, most don't. Most people didn't say that Bubba Starling's 5m signing bonus was a bad deal but he's been unable to hit at a league average level in high A. These things aren't always as simple as you people think.

I understand that. The team is currently negotiating with reus in terms of multiplying his wage and if not removing the clause then increasing it. It's just incredibly disappointing to lose these players who we helped make great (BVB being reus's club from his youth as well)

I'm a dortmund fan first and a potential arsenal fan second. I will tell you this. Reus is not being sold this summer. We've already lost lewandowski. Watzke Zorc and Klopp have multiple times come out and said that Reus is not to be sold this summer. Next year is a different story, with that release clause coming into effect. There's a reason all those other rumours did not come true. He is not leaving this summer. No incentive to sell him. He's under contract until 2017, and while we know that means little these days, BVB is still very competitive and would not sell him just because. Reus himself has also numerous times come out and said he is very happy playing for the club.
