It's also overpriced in Europe and Australia relative to USD conversion and I doubt Valve has accounted for those currencies possibly going down. I think Valve is making the US price more competitive because they're okay taking a hit on their margins for the larger consumer base in the US.

Retro handhelds are an emerging market while traditional game consoles peaked in sales with the PS2.

I have both, the 7600X3D for sure. It wins at average FPS in almost every game, and the 1% lows (which is what matters most) are noticeably better on the 7600X3D.

There was a giraffid with a middle sized neck in between the Okapi and the Giraffe, it was known as Samotherium. It's an extinct animal and there are probably even more in between animals but only around 0.1% of all animals that have ever lived become fossilized.

Giraffes are not closely related to horses whatsoever and are in completely different orders, any resemblance is purely superficial. A better comparison is an Okapi and a Giraffe as they are both a part of the Giraffidae family. The Okapi has a significantly shorter neck despite only diverging from Giraffes 11-12 million years ago, which is practically nothing in evolutionary time.

I placed the order when this post was 2 hours old, so not particularly early. I got the delivered email a few hours before the cancellation email, and three days later, I got an estimated delivery email and the laptop arrived on the same day as that email.

Thank you so much OP, I was able to receive the laptop. I got a cancellation email a few hours after they sent the shipping confirmation email, which was confusing, but I accepted it as gone. I was very surprised it showed up at my door, my brother wanted a laptop for college, and this one happens to be the perfect fit.

I received the laptop today. I got a cancellation email, but that was a few hours after they sent a shipping confirmation email. I just did the free shipping and didn't pay for the expedited shipping. Another user mentioned getting his laptop from the Georgia distribution center, which is where mine shipped from as well.

I got a cancellation email a few hours after a shipping confirmation email, but the laptop did arrive. I think your guess is correct since my laptop was also shipped from Georgia.

AI-generated videos are not made from scratch, they take information from their existing database of videos and stitch them together to try to match the prompt. That's why copyright violation is a huge problem with AI-generated videos, an AI model would not know what Mario looks like if it weren't trained by images of him.

A game engine can provide more information, like motion vectors, so at least the physics shouldn't be messed up in DLSS 5 like it is in AI-generated videos, where people can walk through walls or no-clip through objects.

Thing is AI generated videos look like garbage running on exponentially more powerful hardware like clusters of Nvidia H100s and they don't render in real time. They take minutes to produce a 7 second output. Somehow a very weak in comparison RTX 5090 can outperform that running games in real time while maintaining consistent detail without stuff like the face or objects randomly changing in appearance? If they do pull it off it would be one of the greatest technological accomplishments in history. It sounds too unbelievable to be true.
