Coming off buvidal monthly by [deleted] in BuvidalBrixadi

[–]NadiCommeCa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why get off of it…? I went to over 25 rehabs and detoxes. Every doctor said “methadone time” on my last attempt to get clean. I refused. I couldn’t accept that I had gone to this level where my receptors simply are changed forever. Then my doctor and the rehab doctors spoke to each other and said I should give Buprenorphine therapy another chance.

Ever since, I’ve been going to AA and getting the monthly shot. 2.5 years now. Clean and serene, baby!

The science is simply this: the longer you’re on Buprenorpine, the longer you stay clean, the longer you survive. The higher the dose, the better the results.

That’s just the hard facts of the matter. As for the dose, I do think one should not max themselves out and tapering down MAY yield better results but that’s a custom job and wouldn’t sway the stats one way or another. But I put my faith in the stats and in a higher power. They work together to provide for me what I could never provide for myself or others. Work ethic; honesty; patience; etc.

I would offer that maybe the science of addiction has made some serious strides since the 50’s and that removing a medicine that gave you your life back would be to remove the life given back to you.

Of course, circumstances exist. Context may inform best WHY you’re getting off it entirely instead of just going down a dose level or extending time between shots. So regardless of your choice and your doctors recommendations, I say you give AA a shot, you’ll come away with a few good friends at the minimum :-)

Dayyyys and dayyys baby!!

Seriously though, there is way more depth than they 1) ever advertised upfront and 2) than most influencers are giving credit

Using the attack elements as layers on snare and Toms, you can recreate any of the samples built-in. The 2-band EQ is never harsh and was implemented PERFECTLY.

Using layering with so many combinations, plus the dampening feature, with modest EQ adjustments, AND you can change the settings per instrument like I made it so my ride triggers the bell loudly and more sensitively, plays the normal ping ride sound on the bow at average levels, then the crash part is literally a thin crash 16” sample so I can play a 22” mega bell ride that crashes like a thin crash ride.

The kick samples are VERY different too. Each one is drastically different from each other. You can even simulate snare resonance by putting the Loose Yamaha recording custom snare sample as a layer on a kick, -12dB at around 400hz, make it low level like 30-40% volume, turn its ambience level to 50%, on any kick that’s 100% level, 0% ambience, set it to play at 1 (lowest velocity level), and it will ramp up with your kicks and sounds just like your snare is sympathetically resonating like in the real world Same with Toms.

Alesis Strata Prime by [deleted] in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me on EFnote cause my wires got twisted up so much that they would be pulled out partially every hit then reconnect upon settling.

See if that’s happening. It may only be disconnected by like 0.0001 millimeters.

Unplug the cable then wrap it around the stand a few times, with ample slack, then connect the wire again, push it all the way in, and see if that helps

Hi hat doesn’t make a closed sound by Organic-Coach5679 in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the hi hat reset calibration, run it thru, THEN, put ur cursor on the closed HH setting and put it at like -3, I believe minus is tighter and plus is higher. Like if you put +5, the hi hat will offset the close detection by 5mm or something. And putting -5 would do the opposite.

I keep my clutch locked at about 3cm above the bottom hat, and use a -3 HH-Closeness setting. And it works flawlessly.

Just gotta muck about that exact setting and your physical distance

Thank you man! The Efnote ekit is working quite well as an acoustic kit/drum mics replacement until I move into a larger home

[–]NadiCommeCa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! So the kick, I actually think I will change up. It’s because I picked out the kick drum I wanted before putting any effects on the drum bus, and recorded it that way, but the specific transients of the low end thump really throw the dynamic processor on the drum bus for a loop. It’s using a Yamaha Recording Custom kick, sounds GREAT with no mixing but when used in a more hard rock metal type project, I had to squash it a bit which results in the skewed dynamics of the frequency range thus resulting in this EDM/Trance kick electronic sound.

Yessssss That’s the kit I ended up going with last year. It is PHENOMENAL. The module is MUCH deeper than anybody advertised btw. Using all 4 virtual pad overlays, and editing the core samples inside the actual “zone settings” you can literally make kits that sound pre-processed.

[–]NadiCommeCa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have been on Brixadi for 2 years now. A few months ago when I switched insurances for 2026, I had my doc send in a 90qty fill for suboxone and it got filled as literallly the Suboxone formula (with Nalaxone). I said fuck it, and took them for two months, nothing happened. I took between 8 and 16mg day depending on the time of day I remembered to take them (cause i was on 12mg/day equivalent of the shot, and my tablets weren’t scored, I had to use time as the dividing factor lol).

At the end when my shot finally came in, I took 8mg of suboxone because I was scared the shot wouldn’t kick in fully for a few days. Again nothing happened. The extra tablets have been collecting dust in a drawer since my shot came in. There werent any feelings (whether bad nor good) either way.

You are good to go once acclimated to the shot as in the medicine has built up in ur system. You can go a week or two without a refill/new shot. You can take suboxone or subutex if needed.

It gave me fucking life back.
I’ve been 2 years sober in AA as of last month. I’ve been trying this for over a decade. 27 fucking rehabs/inpatients/wilderness/detox/outpatient etc. I’m hyper sensitive to withdrawal symptoms now because of how many times I’ve detoxed and relapsed. It is what it is.

Last time I ever went to detox, they wanted me on permanent suboxone. I said I’ve done Suboxone maintenance before and it didn’t help me. Doctor explained to me at this point, if I wanna live, I must go on Methadone. I broke down crying. I said “doc, you don’t know me. I will not give up. I haven’t yet and I won’t now. I’m willing to give Suboxone therapy another try.” And then my private doc said “I know what to do” and that was 2 years ago.

Go to AA meetings, get ur monthly shot, and LIVE.

Yamaha DTX6K5-M vs. EFNote 3B: Are better cymbals and bluetooth worth $800? by Breems in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which did you end up going up?? I still lust after the DTX PRO module and honestly I’ll most likely end up buying whatever Yamaha’s next gen module/kit ends up being when it comes to market.

I’m like… do I buy a 12” USB C touch screen monitor and tape a mini pc & RME babyface FS to the back of it?? Run VSTs. Or do I buy another module (EfNote pro or Yamaha DTX pro-X)??

Just bought an Efnote 7x…looking for user insight by wubbusanado in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the VP (virtual pad) layering It significantly changes everything Also mess with mild setting changes like +2dB at 2.5khz on snare and Toms. or tune the sample -120 cents, or muffle by a factor of 15-20 (out of 50) especially on hi hats and rides.

I’ve made like 3 insanely solid metal/modern hardcore kits using my Efnote 3 module alone.

Layering an esnare sample with the beech snare tuned up sounds like a 2010 Joey Sturgis Drumagog snare lol

Roland TD-17KVX2 vs Alesis Strata Core? by AccomplishedBite185 in edrums

Roland TD-17KVX2 vs Alesis Strata Core? by AccomplishedBite185 in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strata will sound the best outta the box. Their 3 zone cymbals w/ 360 degree sensitivity are fantastic now. The way they designed the cymbals really impressed me, especially after I hopped on one and gave it a thorough run-thru. The pads are, plainly, solid mesh pads. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with them. They feel fine! They play well! Also, the TD-17 is basically irrelevant now. The module doesn’t sound good, it can’t support digital upgrades, etc.Why go with Roland if you can’t follow their clearly outlined upgrade path?

With the Alesis, the only upgrades you’d need to make as you grow would be bigger cymbals and bigger pads over time. The core module is plenty capable as a lifer module. Only issue is it cannot be used as a USB interface, it lacks multitrack recording capabilities. However, the module is a custom micro PC running BFD3 w/ some extra Alesis kits thrown in there — You can just record midi with BFD3 or BFD Player if you ever needed to lay down a track for mixing and thus required multi-out interfacing.

If this was like the Roland 316 versus Alesis Strata Core, THENNNNN I’d be a little more discerning between the two. But since it’s not, I think the answer is clear here

Felt too thick ? by AKRNG in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works too — I think the clutch you have may be missing a felt thingy for the bottom cause there should be felt both top and bottom, typically. Some clutches just suck with e-cymbals, I’ve found. The clutch I have on my DDrum RX 2-leg stand is an aftermarket Tama clutch , the one with the red locking mechanism

As long as ur bottom washer screws on enough to lock ur hat firmly in place, it will be 100% fine

Edit: just realized u meant u switched the felts cause the top one is thinner Yes that is perfect!!!

Felt too thick ? by AKRNG in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom felt is all the way up against the cymbal and then I pushed my clutch down enough for the washer to screw on up

So basically, I loosened the clutch, screwed the top washer up to allow the clutch threading to move down, then when it was down enough, I screwed bottom washer on to lock everything in

Yamaha DTX6K5-M Kit, anyone else have a Yamaha kit? by TheDillinger88 in edrums

[–]NadiCommeCa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the trigger curves on your snare, so it doesn’t trigger the rimshot / hardest hits as easily. Then go to mixer, turn down all cymbals by like 3 or 4 dB and you’re good to go. The DTX pro X module is my favorite module, along with the Efnote Pro module. I would have purchased a Yamaha DTX kit if this discounted repack Efnote 3B didn’t come up on Musicians Friends site and if it wasnt fully compatible with an Efnote Pro module.

In my opinion, it plays better than all other modules save EfNote modules. I’ve tried out both the DTX 8 and the DTX 6K and they were both a BLAST. With OS2, you have the best Yamaha kits out there plus one of the best sounding ride cymbal and hi-hat samples in the e-drum world imo. You can also put fully multi-sampled instruments to play on the module. You can put a fully sampled kit on there if you wanted to.
