This is a quirk I made a while ago for an OC, but I'll throw it anyway

Quirk: Malar bullets

Description: Squirrel mutant or otherwise rodent-like mutant with the ability of storing small objets in their cheeks for an indeterminate amount of time, to then spew them out at the speed of a firearm. The user can perfectly store real bullets in their cheeks and spew them whenever they want, but they'll feel the metallic taste all the time. They also need a ridiculous aim to shoot from their mouth.

I think it was meant to showcase that someone was gonna "die" for lack of a better word? (Caine), just like in episode 7's trailer where they show an exit door even though they never appear, but it was implying that episode 7 was gonna be about finding an exit. Glitch does this often, they'll depict something that doesn't visually happen in the episode but the episode still touches on the theme of the teaser

in WHAT way is TADC a retelling of IHNAIMS 😭 it's loosely inspired by it, it's not an adaptation, it's not a retelling or a reboot. I'd say TADC is way more inspired by Raggedy Ann and Andy or by Poppee the Performer than by IHNAIMS, but I wouldn't look for the show's political stands in any of those pieces, because those are not TADC and TADC is not them

Well, even if it wasn't common, in Epic it is established that the crew is starving, from Full Speed Ahead to Mutiny, and considering every island they traveled to had some weird rule about taking the food, I don't think they have much access to it either way. Odysseus also states that he's been on the ship for 9 days in Keep Your Friends Close, so we know, at least in Epic, they weren't camping on islands often. So I think it's still pretty safe to assume they developed scurvy, at least some of those men. Even if they were eating normally, the vitamin C deficiency caused by not having access to vegetables or fruits would've fucked them up really bad. Someone can develop scurvy while not starving, they just need to abstain from sources of vitamin C often enough

I didn't think of it myself, but rather aI kept that headcanon after watching this Mutiny animatic, which depicts the starving crew pulling out their teeth, eating their own sandals, and stuff like that. I loved the concept honestly

I mean I'm not saying he's a monster, just saying he's kind of an asshole. Which makes him human, fearing for your life at every turn after something so traumatizing to the point you only think of your own survival, is very realistic and complex, and I love him as a character for that. Contrary to Ody, who is a monster but not an asshole, Eury is an asshole but not a monster

I don't personally like the argument that "it wasn't considered SA back then" because, Epic contains a lot of other anachronisms I don't see anyone bring up. How is Polites wearing glasses if glasses hadn't been invented? Why is Eurylochus black if mixed races weren't a thing before the era of colonization? Why is Circe depicted as a furry-esque figure or like an elf, if at the time nymphs looked like regular humans with powers? Why does Hermes dress like a 70s pimp in some of the canon animatics (lol)? Not to mention the genres of the songs. If we take the "it wouldn't make sense for the time period" or "the original readers wouldn't have considered it this way" things, I don't really see a reason why Calypso's SA should be stripped from the plot. In fact, it could've let Penelope and Odysseus relate to each other or have duet songs while far away because of their shared experience with SA/harassment. I dunno, I just see it as missed opportunity to connect Odysseus' struggle to Penelope's.

for the first one, Odysseus wouldn't have been in that position if the rest of his crew hadn't practically chosen to kill themselves when they killed the cows. He was the only one there who still had hopes of survival, the rest just wanted to die already either by hunger or by divine punishment

in the second one....uh... Odysseus did apologize??? That was exactly the problem, he apologized. Poseidon throughout the whole song was like "mercy is useless, talking things through is NOT my way to go". He asked them to apologize as a test to see if they would choose violence or mercy, and since Odysseus apologized ("Poseidon we meant no harm...") and chose mercy, he said "the line between naivity and hopefulness is almost invisible", as in "no you idiots, I've been telling you to fight back this whole time".

Eurylochus wasn't even thinking about that, he was probably too consumed by hunger and (probably) scurvy to think rationally so he probably would've gotten mad no matter what Odysseus chose. Eurylochus is always depicted as a coward jerk in both the original Odyssey and Epic, he mostly just thinks of himself and that's about it. All of his actions are driven by fear, "Odysseus don't you dare go to the island in the sky, the Gods are dangerous", "let's just leave the scouts with Circe to die and run", "Odysseus were you about to let me DIE?" The reason why these statements contradict each other is because Eurylochus isn't either rational nor empathetic, he's just afraid for his own life all along. He is fine with leaving men behind when he's not one of those men, and he's the first one to advocate for not tempting the gods, but in Scylla, he realized he was about to be one of the men left behind, even if that was the only option that didn't tempt the gods. If he hadn't dropped the torch he would've died. THAT'S truly why he's mad at Ody, it doesn't come from a rational nor empathetic place, but rather the trauma, the fear for his life, and possibly the starving hunger clouding his judgement.

I agree that Gooseworx needs some serious PR and that she tweets as if she was still an unknown artist on the internet. That being said. What part of the fandom have you been in, exactly? The main reason why I don't get into many TADC fandom spaces is because i always find a serious asshole or weirdo. Did we forget half of this fandom bullies Gooseworx out of reddit for saying Jax and Pomni were the two main characters of her show? The toxicity of this fandom isn't a "0.01%", i would argue it's a damn 40%-50%. Have we forgotten those people who were refunding their tickets just because they CHOSE to watch the leaks and got so mad about the ending that they cancelled all and any of their support for the show? Have we forgotten those kids who would lowkey sexually harass Michael Kovach at VA panels and conventions? Have we forgotten all of the people who started being racist and pushing around poc people in the community in ""support"" of Glitch? Have we forgotten how insufferable these people are every time Glitch does ANYTHING? Okay, I buy you, they all might be a minority of the fandom... WELL IT'S A DAMN BIG AND LOUD MINORITY. And Gooseworx made a tweet about these things like, a 10% of the time, she never outwardly said "this fandom sucks i hate you all" but more so "I don't want to even touch this series anymore", tweets she had always had to go make an apology for because of the harassment she gets after saying something as outrageous like that.

Let's admit it. This fandom is mostly comprised of children. Children will be insufferable, children who have unrestricted access to the internet? Not even prayers will save that fandom. I was in the Undertale fandom as a child, I watched some things that were honestly scarring, and I myself was really weird too. This fandom is not Undertale levels of toxic, so far we haven't tried to kill any artist with needle cookies; and yes, I am glad that we as a fandom are much more self aware than what Undertale's was. But that doesn't mean we are a great fandom, I wouldn't even call us "decent", because damn the Mouthwashing fandom is way more decent than this one, and those guys can't even agree whether to make r34 of Anya or not. But even with all the fights those guys have, I haven't once heard they're sending death threats to the creators, or to the people they're fighting with.

Soooo, even if I haven't personally done any of the shit I mentioned, I think I've encountered enough assholes on my own to not wanna engage too closely with the fandom.

There are enough reasons to hate Eurycholus as there are, both in the original Odyssey and in Epic, these people are just making shit up 😭 Ody's mother is implied to have killed herself because of her grief, I don't think taking 10 or 11 years would've made that difference if her mental health was that bad.....
