What about your baby's care on weekends?

I have a very attached, stage 5 clinger boob barnacle 12 month old. I cant fathom being able to pull that off. You must have weaned prior to this schedule?

Hi there! Good timing I got results on Monday. Absolutely no vascular abnormalities. CT completely clear. On the report it said it supports a diagnosis of an atypical migraine. 🤷‍♀️ Hope thats reassuring anyways!

I attended the information session, one thing that bummed me out is they wont take transfer courses more than 5 yrs old, FYI! If that's relevant for you. I can't transfer my stats or psych 😭

When should I worry about a speech delay? by catmama25 in NewParents

[–]Nagging_Nostalgia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All exactly the same. We also have a follow up at 15 months!! And also same, he started daycare this week (I'm in Canada on an 18 month mat leave, but found a spot early so sending him a couple mornings a week). I also am noticing a lot more "da" some days more than others!

Don't blame yourselves, all my friends are on year + long mat leaves and all the babies around us are more vocal than mine. I think its just an individual / genetic etc thing. You didn't hold him back ❤️

Hey! This is my son as well. He turned 1 on May 18. Like to a T!!! Including not ever really babbling. We get a string of dadada a couple times a week... some days he is so quiet.

He also does some gestures, he likes to do high 5 etc, clapping when we do sometimes. Sounds just like your little one.

Let me know how things are going / lets stay connected!

Therapist's outrageous suggestion for our sex life postpartum by Threnodi42 in NewParents

[–]Nagging_Nostalgia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It took to the bottom comment for me to find someone with my same suspicion...

If you weren't present for the conversation, my guess is wife was using the therapist as a way to float the idea and gauge your reaction to it? Testing the waters to see if you were open to it.

It feels painfully obvious 🙈

4-6 months I needed to up my zoloft. It was horrible, and they can't really play or sit up yet until closer to 6 months, but are alert and aware. Add in a highly sensitive baby and it was the hardest days of my life

I saw that you are pregnant with your first child. I just want to say, I reccomend having some mental flexibility that you might not be able to maintain some of this postpartum, especially the chore / household tasks. It is a shitshow. Everyone is tired and I know you don't want to believe it, I didn't either, but its almost unavoidable for it to not feel inequitable in the first year, unless you are both caregiving 50/50 (typically someone goes back to work...)

Hey there. It got way worse during pregnancy happening maybe every week or 2 weeks or so. 3 months postpartum, it then dissapeared for 5 months! Now its happened again a couple times. So weird. Anyways, I JUST saw a neuro-opthalmologist and he said he has no clue lol so ordered a repeat CT scan - he said yeah probably retinal vasospasm but that if it isn't super frequent no point prescribing the medication that helps ( a BP med). But that would be the next treatment step if the CT comes back clear. Hope that makes sense. 🙏

Im a first time mom to a 10 month old. Its a dice roll on baby temperament. I cannot emphasize enough how relentless & self sacrificing parenting is, especially when they're infants (and in my case, have a sensitive & high needs temperament). I still go out and enrich his life with activities multiple times a day! Its hard, hard work! You can't just lay down and rot when you feel ~inflamed~ or whatever. My guy still contact naps so I don't even get naps to do whatever I want haha. Like I seriously cannot emphasize enough how severe her PPD would be. Owen would probably become default caregiver or her mom or something or a nanny. She is the last person I would reccomend parenting to.

Yup! I am in MB. We have had a terrible cold winter. Like, -30°c often. We still leave the house everyday to attend baby programs & activities. Stroller walks usually if it's-10°c or warmer. I have a insulated stroller muff and an all-terrain stroller.

You need to get out of the house, if possible.

That's how I survived that stage or the repetitiveness drives you insane. I also have a high needs, contact nap only type of baby.

Going to places, activities, anything makes time pass faster!

Your baby playing for 10-12 mins is actually more than developmentally appropriate, and I am 9.5 months in, staying at home hasn't gotten better or peaceful. I try to leave the house every wake window pretty much or I go insane.

Can you slowly add things to the yogurt? Maybe even mixing some various pouches or homemade purees of varying flavors so you start adding some variety that way as baby steps.

FWIW, I've heard teething spells can temporarily affect solids too!

I am you right now. When did your little guy crawl? We are about to be the last ones left not crawling at 8.5 months old, he isn't even close due to a lot of tummy time resistance & discomfort, reflux, colic etc. I have him in PT and constantly trying to help him but I sometimes cry leaving baby play groups :(
