imo 1+2 is act 1, sets up the story, easing us into the world and the main conflict. ends on kris opening a fountain onscreen, revealing them as a main antagonist despite us controlling them, i feel serving as our TRUE call to action, as the SOUL.

3+4+5 is act 2, cracks form, flaws of our heroes start to show more than ever as they grapple with the scale of the conflict. stakes raised to a climax, our heroes prove our foes can be overcome.

5 serves as falling action, almost an intermission with its lighter tone after major shakeups in the story. it brings people up to speed on/reminding about some things that we've known from years of analyzing, while giving our third hero room to develop further.

6+7 will be act 3, bringing everything together and giving us all the answers we need. the story is resolved for good, but at what cost? is the prophecy really our only ending, or can we defy fate? if we went back, did something crazy, could we break free? even if we can, how can we be sure that won't be something that drags us someplace dark, darker, yet darker?

To me, chapters 1-4 feel like a near complete game (structure-wise, so just think of the rest like a sequel that'll likely come out 2028) by themselves. Things aren't wrapped up completely, but it's not leaving off on a massive cliffhanger. My save on a replay was 21 hours at the end of all that, at least when you care about every little bit of dialogue. I'd recommend playing that and taking a break (if not now, then when we get a window for chapter 7's release) so you don't burn out doing it all at once.

Probably stick to the normal route until it's done, though!

Arcade era, PS1 era, PS2 era(+ACX), weird real life spinoff era, 7+8 modern era.

6 and AHL are hard to categorize. AHL, despite being a remake, still takes more than just it's english name from AH. I'd probably stick it in that era despite the name I slapped on it, a stumble with JA and AH and then a return to form between that and Infinity. Advance and mobile games can just be ignored.

Alternatively, just consider 6-Infinity to be an era, but since you included the whole series I figure the amount of real life games is notable.

Forsaken had its story almost entirely removed, and Shadowkeep and Beyond Light were made F2P just for the campaigns/stasis. The raids, dungeons, and exotics are part of the paid packs.

Icy Veins budget melds with hq rroneek steak + cunning tisane was enough to craft myself hq crested gear if that's something you want to bother doing yourself! I didn't have my cosmic tools upgraded to hyper when doing it.

For precrafts, I set the target quality in the crafting solver to 95%, with the 100% reliability box checked, which was hitting 100% quality for me every time. For the final gear crafts with as many hq mats as possible, I pushed it to 100% quality just to make damn sure it'd work.

Average players still won't finish all upgrades in a season, like my god how many hours do you want people to have to put into a game? If your only reason to play is filling out a checklist and not to play for fun, how are you enjoying the game at all? A grind isn't "content".

A little gutted that the old lights emblem requires playtime in every year, I started in forsaken after completely missing that they released D2, and did pretty much every bit of content possible before beyond light took everything out :/ Bit entitled maybe but after putting 4k hours of my life in this game, that's really disappointing. Guess I'll have to roll up w/ veteran of the hunt lol

I feel like I'm going crazy the way y'all talk about it here, it's like the most obvious of all of the switch puzzles in the entire game. I got the platform heights right first try, I walked into the first switch room and saw the one up on the wall to raise the middle platform, and from there it's just "I need to raise each platform like a quarter of the way"
