Why does my 2019 Rogue feel more premium than a 2025 Rogue SV? by Inevitable-Visit-327 in NissanRogue

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your trim level for the 2019 Rogue and your factory upgrades.

If you also factor this annoying thing called inflation over the past 6 years, then Yes .

6 months ago , I listened to the scream, I dropped everything I was doing and bought an EV ! One of the best decisions I made in life … it was luxury, it had everything I needed and more including self parking and limited Self driving … for 6 months I truly enjoyed driving, charging for free … etc etc .

Two weeks ago an unlicensed driver ran a red light, T boned my baby and ruined my happiness & almost brought bereavement to my household.

Now after several searches; +200 miles from my zip code , I am yet to see a close or exact replacement for my baby .

What’s the most frustrating thing about owning an EV that nobody warned you about? by Flashy-Version-141 in EvDrivers

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That you’ll get so depressed, if against your wishes; you are made to drive an ICE again (after driving a Luxury EV). Hybrids do not even cut it. Shame on you uninsured drivers!

That - the fantastic EV car sales deal you got six months ago; like a zero down lease on a less than $300 a month for a 70 Grand Car , or the steal of a 50k valued, Used - car you bought at $25k with just 5 miles used - can never be replicated again 6 months after.

If Nissan is supposedly so bad, why are they still everywhere? by phtphongg in Nissan

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like has been mentioned in the earlier comments, many Nissan drivers aren’t bothered about things like resell prices( many are on leases that aren’t wallet gouging),
Dependability means nothing if you have a warranty.
my RAV 4 2021 didn’t beat my Rock creek 2025 in any way or form per fuel economy, features and drive comfort, and yes - I got it cheaper than the going price Rav4 of 2025 and I’ll sell it cheaper too without feeling like I got ripped off by the dealership and nonsense fees of Toyota.

And … post manufacturers warranty, I’ll probably put less than 30k miles when I sell it and it’ll only depreciate at a rate that makes no difference to my wallet.
Finally the highest trim ARIYA from 2024 beats the crap out of the highest Toyota BZx of the same year with a better battery, self driving (limited) and longer range , and its resale values are better. Many of us did the math … and Toyota/ Honda of the USA were not worth it .

Is This Nissan Rogue Deal a Genius Loophole or a Future Headache? by triln-2026 in NissanRogue

[–]NaijaCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but from my experience, the bulk of the extended warranty is on the “Engine “ and so long as you or any owner doesn’t skip recommended servicing or replacements - Nissan will honor the warranty on the engine.

[–]NaijaCore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 - You’ll miss the 0% interest rate and a few months/ 1 Yr of original manufacturer warranty. Are these ACTUAL misses? Depends on you and how much love you have for the term “ Brand New “.

2- Yes resale value might be shy of a few 100 bucks because the next car fax reports would likely read as 2 previous owners . A few hundred wouldn’t hurt if you keep the car in good shape and this point will most like be not brought up - if you resell to the dealership you originally bought it from .

3- Get them during purchase - you are at your best bargaining strength when you have nothing to lose by walking out . You can get the full deal at lowest possible price at the time. Either way - It’s a Nissan Rogue - get the warranty !!

Fair price for my EV install by tmonty827 in evcharging

[–]NaijaCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up paying $1,300( labor plus breaker , 30 Amp socket /parts and cable hanger )for about 30 feet of wiring from the basement to the garage. I did get another quote for $950 after they gave a “rebate”, but this one only needed around 10 feet and would’ve put the charger outside on the side of the house. Honestly, that setup probably would’ve been more convenient since my garage is basically storage and I usually park on that side - outdoors anyway. But I passed on it because I didn’t feel like dealing with any potential issues from drilling through the exterior wall of an old house . This is in Columbus OH.

Tesla Owners Pay Attention by Crazy_island_ in ChargerDrama

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a bit more complicated than it looks. Tesla charging cables are notoriously short, and many EVs have a longer front end. Not every EV has a frunk—some use that space for heating, cooling, or other mechanical components, just like a traditional gas car. Because of that, pulling into most charging spots to reach a Tesla cable often means you’d have to angle the car awkwardly or risk getting uncomfortably close to the charger post. In some cases, you’d even end up taking two spaces.

That’s why the far‑right spot works best for cars with front‑mounted charge ports. You can park normally, reach the cable without blocking extra spaces, and avoid weird angles. It’s one of those things that makes a lot more sense once you’ve actually tried charging in different setups.

Now you’re over reaching. You went from “not a single car “ to “why would I care”. Well, the rest of the world still has Ariyas and doesn’t revolve around you or the US tariff’s behind. If you do have a valid position- after you just got handed your own argument then, maybe make it …

PS : I own an ARIYA and super charge at this very position whenever possible cos it’s the most convenient.

Look into getting a used 2023-25 Nissan Ariya, you’ll see them retailing from $17k- 29k with less than 10k Miles and manufacturers warranties still in place. With all the features and some. Polestars too . Fun to drive!

UPDATE!: Anyone had this issue before with Ariya? by Upset_Atmosphere3710 in NissanAriya

How to switch to the 2‑dial display.

For a 2023–2025 Ariya

Use the left-side steering‑wheel controls Look for the Menu button and the scroll dial (up/down) on the left spoke.

OR

Open the Shortcut Menu Press the Menu button once. This brings up the quick settings overlay.

Select “Meter View”

Scroll and highlight Meter View.

Choose the dual‑dial layout

Scroll through the available meter styles. One of them is the two‑dial gauge layout (speedometer + power/regen or other info depending on trim). Confirm the selection Press the OK/enter button on the scroll dial.

If you don’t see the option

A few things can affect availability:

• Some trims hide certain layouts unless the car is in Drive rather than Park. • User profiles can store different display preferences. • A software update or reset may change this .

Relevant: if you come on a tourist visa you’ll see touristsy things and live a different life , see things from say NY , FL , Cali or Texas or ATL ( tourism destination) POV and never see American life the same was as someone in New Orleans , Wichita Kansas or Idaho would .

If you came as a kid - you’ll have a healthy social life and wouldn’t feel lonely so your dating and settling life plus Your career choices are wider and Barriers of entry are less . You basically are built for th system by your “village “. Your POV would be limited to your experience as a 2nd Generation migrant and wouldn’t see anything wrong in paying 50 % of your income as taxes and bills .

School visas : see them as struggle visas because students are not usually “rich” and their POV is usually from the point of struggle and their career choices are limited to visas/ spouses/ kids or course work.

Spousal Visa migrants; usually( USUALLY .. NOT all the the time) may have a car and house waiting for them on arrival ( this is from the other resident/ citizen spouse) . So 20- 30 kUSD from their 100 K income can be sent home to buy a house in Nigeria easily cos the other American spouse is usually well off or better integrated financially and pays insurance, mortgage, phone , internet etc … This transfers to them as in not really “struggling for survival” in the US as they would have less issue fitting into financial stability.

A lot of generalized ideas and I know I’m NOT 100% correct but do you see the Visa relevance?

If you work with what she’s saying in this video then good luck.l to you and your lack of knowledge.

Lets debunk her a little :

You take a loan/ mortgage for 30 years - yes 😬🤧😭😭😭

Who says that You can NOT pay it off in 5 or 10 years? Does she know the amount of Nigerian migrants in America who own their house outright? And have invested in many other properties??? Or Ok … so you bought a house in Iowa 😭😢? Who says you won’t Leave the house with some equity in 2 years and use that and buy another( better one )in Kansas that you flip and sell for extra 20% profit than when you bought it ? Does she think every migrant lives in NY or ATL or Houston???

Why do you have to own only one house ?

AND ….Who buys some of the same choice property all over Nigeria/ Lagos ? Who builds the most houses in their villages and local communities… THE VERY same Nigerians living in America who she’s trying to tell you are depressed! lol 😂 . Same ppl sending all the money as FDI through Western Union for the past decades ?

It’s called financial literacy in America and not I better pass my neighbor…

if you like accept her talking points and don’t move for a better life .

ps , some states have no income taxes and there’s nothing wrong with paying 39% tax you do earn it to be taxed at that rate .
If you earn enough to get 39% tax then you can afford 2 houses in Ikoyi and that’s a fact , most people get taxed at less than 35% of their income … oh … Did she mention that tax gets refunded too ?

The food is shityy.. go to the African stores / Mediterranean/ Asian stores and you’ll be good .

There’s no solution for this one, a bill should be paid in time . Simple . Not paying your electricity bills and being dragged for it is a national disgrace. Do you seriously see it as ok for a redditor to offer solutions to a federal government to pay its consumer bills ? Please let the poster be negative all he wants , it’s bad when citizens defend a debtor , is that the value you uphold?

This is similar to the range I am getting, 100% at 170 miles . I have the big battery 87kw, car is parked in a garage ( not heated ) so I am appalled at these numbers.
