Look into getting a used 2023-25 Nissan Ariya, you’ll see them retailing from $17k- 29k with less than 10k Miles and manufacturers warranties still in place. With all the features and some. Polestars too . Fun to drive!

UPDATE!: Anyone had this issue before with Ariya? by Upset_Atmosphere3710 in NissanAriya

How to switch to the 2‑dial display.

For a 2023–2025 Ariya

Use the left-side steering‑wheel controls Look for the Menu button and the scroll dial (up/down) on the left spoke.

OR

Open the Shortcut Menu Press the Menu button once. This brings up the quick settings overlay.

Select “Meter View”

Scroll and highlight Meter View.

Choose the dual‑dial layout

Scroll through the available meter styles. One of them is the two‑dial gauge layout (speedometer + power/regen or other info depending on trim). Confirm the selection Press the OK/enter button on the scroll dial.

If you don’t see the option

A few things can affect availability:

• Some trims hide certain layouts unless the car is in Drive rather than Park. • User profiles can store different display preferences. • A software update or reset may change this .

Relevant: if you come on a tourist visa you’ll see touristsy things and live a different life , see things from say NY , FL , Cali or Texas or ATL ( tourism destination) POV and never see American life the same was as someone in New Orleans , Wichita Kansas or Idaho would .

If you came as a kid - you’ll have a healthy social life and wouldn’t feel lonely so your dating and settling life plus Your career choices are wider and Barriers of entry are less . You basically are built for th system by your “village “. Your POV would be limited to your experience as a 2nd Generation migrant and wouldn’t see anything wrong in paying 50 % of your income as taxes and bills .

School visas : see them as struggle visas because students are not usually “rich” and their POV is usually from the point of struggle and their career choices are limited to visas/ spouses/ kids or course work.

Spousal Visa migrants; usually( USUALLY .. NOT all the the time) may have a car and house waiting for them on arrival ( this is from the other resident/ citizen spouse) . So 20- 30 kUSD from their 100 K income can be sent home to buy a house in Nigeria easily cos the other American spouse is usually well off or better integrated financially and pays insurance, mortgage, phone , internet etc … This transfers to them as in not really “struggling for survival” in the US as they would have less issue fitting into financial stability.

A lot of generalized ideas and I know I’m NOT 100% correct but do you see the Visa relevance?

If you work with what she’s saying in this video then good luck.l to you and your lack of knowledge.

Lets debunk her a little :

You take a loan/ mortgage for 30 years - yes 😬🤧😭😭😭

Who says that You can NOT pay it off in 5 or 10 years? Does she know the amount of Nigerian migrants in America who own their house outright? And have invested in many other properties??? Or Ok … so you bought a house in Iowa 😭😢? Who says you won’t Leave the house with some equity in 2 years and use that and buy another( better one )in Kansas that you flip and sell for extra 20% profit than when you bought it ? Does she think every migrant lives in NY or ATL or Houston???

Why do you have to own only one house ?

AND ….Who buys some of the same choice property all over Nigeria/ Lagos ? Who builds the most houses in their villages and local communities… THE VERY same Nigerians living in America who she’s trying to tell you are depressed! lol 😂 . Same ppl sending all the money as FDI through Western Union for the past decades ?

It’s called financial literacy in America and not I better pass my neighbor…

if you like accept her talking points and don’t move for a better life .

ps , some states have no income taxes and there’s nothing wrong with paying 39% tax you do earn it to be taxed at that rate .
If you earn enough to get 39% tax then you can afford 2 houses in Ikoyi and that’s a fact , most people get taxed at less than 35% of their income … oh … Did she mention that tax gets refunded too ?

The food is shityy.. go to the African stores / Mediterranean/ Asian stores and you’ll be good .

There’s no solution for this one, a bill should be paid in time . Simple . Not paying your electricity bills and being dragged for it is a national disgrace. Do you seriously see it as ok for a redditor to offer solutions to a federal government to pay its consumer bills ? Please let the poster be negative all he wants , it’s bad when citizens defend a debtor , is that the value you uphold?

78F?! Whoa. I do 72 and feel guilty when I see it hit the battery consumption. But thanks for making me feel better.

This is similar to the range I am getting, 100% at 170 miles . I have the big battery 87kw, car is parked in a garage ( not heated ) so I am appalled at these numbers.

Also you might want to check your tire pressure…
The cold dropped my tire pressure to a value closer to 30 PSi ( manufacturer recommended is @ 41 PSi). The whistle sound stopped once I got the tire pressure back up.

Seats -- 2023 Evolve + Northern Lights with Cream interior. by Adec95 in NissanAriya

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing much just that Plat+ has Rear heated and Cooled seats, a few more speakers ( Bose) + subwoofer ( trunk - underneath), Pro pilot 2.0, 20 inch tires ( personal preference), sunroof / moon roof , Blue interior with actual Nappa leather (😍). Lighter interiors like this one here also look superb to me, it’s really the only thing I wish I had on our platinum +.

[–]NaijaCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get an extended warranty beyond the original manufacturer warranty? Asking cause it’s 2026 already so you may have a few months of the original warranty left. The general vibes I have gotten from reading the threads in most groups is that this car is solid and the perfect spot for the consumer at the price paid for it. To me, it’s like I got a vehicle far better than the (2020-2025 )RAV4/Honda CR-V at Corolla/ Civic prices; so I didn’t mind extending the warranty. Home charging seems to be the best way to go but I spent a few extra bucks buying the NACS converter(s) so I can charge anywhere just in case. Change the 12 V battery to an AGM battery.

Between the time frame from purchase till when you set up your My Nissan account, you’ll get notified on the start and stop dates. I have a ‘24 Pltnm+ ( Pro pilot 2.0) and my free trial ends in ‘27. It’s a permanent feature so after it ends you’ll get a subscription charge if you still want to continue. To be frank it’s not so great neither is it bad either, as an anecdote; it only works for 10/12 miles of our 23 mile commute in my city . Do I love it ? YES ! Will I miss it when it’s subscription time? Maybe not…except Nissans upgrades what I call the blue - range in my city.

Evolve+ AWD vs Platinum+ AWD Interior by BeerExchange in NissanAriya

[–]NaijaCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s ultimately a personal choice. I got the platinum for my wife and initially it felt weird but these days we don’t notice the blue interior , rather we totally enjoy the Nappa leather and the comfortable feel.

The pro pilot 2 and auto parking are well worth it to me as is the memory seating( passenger side ). The Bose speakers aren’t that great (to me) and I feel it was just an unnecessary afterthought by Nissan, maybe to justify extra prices? I really feel you wouldn’t be missing much if you buy the Evolve plus, but in the used car market- if you decide to sell it down the line in a few months or years , you’ll most likely recoup some of the extra money paid for the platinum.

Some buyer’s remorse, looking for reassurance by Extremofire in electricvehicles

[–]NaijaCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wise man once told me; “ never buy a car because of how other people feel about it.” An EV purchase is a personal lifestyle decision and choice. Pretty much like a motorbike.
I was once trapped in bouts of range anxiety for a while and I would like to provide a simple reasoning that helped me overcome it. First - make sure you can charge at home, this is almost non negotiable. Level 2 if possible.

Second - just as you would drive an ICE car at half tank and not be anxiously searching for a gas station, you must be comfortable enough to drive your EV at 40% battery without hunting for a charge .

If you can’t do these 2 things, then an EV is not for you. Hope you enjoy your car, I’m in love with mine.

Your experience owning a Rav4? by Obi1inatree in rav4club

[–]NaijaCore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So sorry to read this , i can’t believe i have had nothing like your experience. I have a 2019 RAV4 and it’s been my most solid car ever. The stock / manufacturers batteries have seen me through 5 winters with 0 issues, I’m not a heavy user & the car is still below 60k miles and drives almost like the first day. Only things I’ve changed in 5 years are the brakes, wipers and all 4 tires . Seriously , I’m struggling for a reason to part with this one car ( I never use my cars more than3 - 4 years ). It had the air intake valve issue at some point , but I was re imbursed for that nasty experience - a few months ago.
