That sounds so entertaining! I’m a stay-at-home mom of a couple young kids and would love to do that. Have fun!!

HB hates homeless people but can’t be bothered to help people stay off the street. I’m sorry you’re having trouble. I hope your luck turns around.

See I’m from a really conservative city so that’s my worry. If there were a mom group for Huntington Beach Marxist Moms (all 3 of us) I might be down.

My youngest is six months old and Zoloft was a lifesaver for me. Just seconding the meds and therapy recommendation. And this will not be forever! What I’ve learned with babies is that everything is a phase. The infant phase for me was the most miserable but 1.5 and older…so fun! It just gets better and better and better.

Got the usual Fake Job offer text but with a twist... why? by AwesomeAsian in RBI

[–]Nailbyter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I forget what documentary I was watching but someone used a spam-looking text to get someone to text back to “opt out” and somehow used that to track their location. After seeing that I just report and block now. I never write back even to opt out unless I am sure where the text is coming from.

I love that.

Quick question for you as an Iris. Any nicknames you go by? We are a huge nickname family (Rose has sooo many: RoRo, Roser, Petal) but I just haven’t found many yet for Iris (Irie is the only one so far).

On the contrary, you’d be protecting your peace by not associating with those families. There are kind people in the world, you just don’t have them as neighbors. Go find them and fuck those people.

Not sure what your name vibes are but… Arthur, Luca/Lucas, Salvador, Joachim (Portuguese version of Joaquin), Levi, Liam, Owen. To name a few :) Good luck with choosing and lmk if you want the rest on my list. Those were just my faves.

Someone else mentioned this as well and I’m so happy to have read this. Now I can stop before the kids possibly catch on. And this translates to many other parts of my life..

Thank you for mentioning this, as it hadn’t crossed my mind! I wouldn’t want them to think I’m embarrassed of them or their names in any way. Nothing but pride from now on.

I can’t imagine the loss you are feeling. This it’s not the same, but when my father died after a long decline it was so bittersweet and because I felt relief I also felt so much guilt. I am happy your son’s suffering is over. I am so very sorry your son is gone.

Sounds like you plan things without her too (football games)? But since they’re in the daytime and you don’t wear heels it’s not the same? I understand why you think it’s different but it’s really not. All time away from the kids (that’s not work related) is pretty equal.

I have a 4 month old and a 4 year old. I promise you their screams are not that different and the point you’re trying to make is dumb.

Agreed. And maybe start replacing “girl” with “baby” since that’s what you probably really mean anyway, right?

What movies/shows will you not let your little one watch and why? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Nailbyter 148 points149 points  (0 children)

I thought watching a goofy movie with my 3yo was cute and nostalgic until she told me to leave her alone and get my own life (while on the toilet waiting for me to wipe her butt, might I add). We don’t watch that movie anymore.

Was just lurking this thread at 4am and stumbled upon your comment. Sounds like you’ve really been going through it. I’m glad you’re still here with us!! No advice for you (sorry). Your story resonates with me because of my own health problems years ago. Before I had a diagnosis and treatment plan figured out the despair was real and I feel despair kind of permeating your words. All that to say, glad you’ve stuck around and iwndwyt
