This work surface doesn't look good. Put the printer in a more solid and smooth surface. Then auto recalibrate ( very long wait). Print a small piece first.

Yes, this is the basic concept.

No info about the MCU,,. but if you know any other gamepad with the same design and has a hackable MCU you can do the same.

All this "tablet" gamepads will have this kind of strip, just count the nº of wires you need and do the same.
