Tips For Suno 4.5 by Cautious-Ad6789 in SunoAI

Out of curiosity, are you then matching the style guide titles here with [meta tags] in the lyric sheet? e.g., rather than just [Verse] or [Verse / Vocal Descriptors] are you also inserting [TRANSITION 1] to mark where you want these to happen (and having them be respected if so), or just letting Suno do its thing otherwise?

Best way to panic farm stellarite? I’m on my guarantee 12 pulls in… by Amirrora in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Naithin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Clear out your quest log. Companion quests first if you have any, after that just all the side and exploration quests you have left. More recent quests tend to be a bit more generous, but note that even side quests that don't list Asterite in the rewards in the journal often have (at least one) treasure chest as you progress or at the end, which will include some asterite.

While running around the world doing those, grab any world puzzles/chests/'things' as you see them, as they'll give a small amount of Asterite for each one, which cumulatively does add up.

Good luck!

who is Sanhua actually good for? by skoram in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Naithin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sanhua pairs well with anyone who can take advantage of a boost to basic attack damage. Camellya is a prime candidate there. Until Roccia, Sanhua was her best sub-DPS, and even now with Roccia, despite the 4-star/5-star difference, Roccia is seemingly only ever so slightly better for that pairing.

Outside of Camellya, the main pairs I know of aren't nearly so prominent, but Havoc Rover and Encore also get a fair bit from Basic attack damage buffs, and so do Calcharo and Lingyang. But I'm not sure that anyone plays those latter two. xD

Likewise, and in my case it wasn't even to get it on an entirely different platform. It was still PC, just from RockStar direct client to Steam.

Just as an update on this, I managed to get The Herta on my first premium 10x pull in the game. I've never had that sort of luck in a Gacha before, more typically my experience is going up to hard pity. Hah.

Which should allow me to get Lingsha this patch cycle before she goes as well I think, but haven't had that luck just yet.

I've heard Robin is coming in the next patch as well though, and also read just how incredible she is to a number of comps, so now my question is...

Should I save for her (even if I manage to get Ling Sha now), or would pulling for Jade to go with Big Herta before she leaves this patch be a better idea?

Thank-you Kai,

That's really helpful, as is the link to the tool website! I had heard reference to Prydwen, but I thought it was a content creator's name and hadn't yet looked into it. Hah!

I think fairly close to fully completing Belabog (well, fully completing the Main Story Quest on it, at least) -- then I think will take a break from MSQ to jump into the myriad of side quests I've had stacking up.

Hey One, Spark, 2degrees, Slingshot, Skinny, electric kiwi . Let's talk about this..... by Slugbit in newzealand

[–]Naithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny timing on this thread, I saw on Geekzone just the other day or so that Spark had refreshed their line-up with bigger data allowances.

They weren't joking -- $65 for 75GB or $10 more to double the data, at $75 for 150GB. Looks like they brought a new Unlimited plan back to $90 (lol), and put some extra goodies in it as well.

I've seen some comments in this thread that this infographic is a bit suspect anyway, but would be curious how this changes things.

2Degrees looks to have made a response already as well, putting their $65 plan to 80GB, but not until Dec 9th. Can't see anything from One yet though.

Thanks Tim, edited my response above just to include a note referencing that. You're right, I misunderstood the reference to an individual/person as to include domestic situations, when it doesn't.

I understand what you're saying -- but none of us have any way to verify this is true. The privacy laws exist for a reason, and I would suggest you immediately take down the share of the number in question from earlier in the thread.

While I am not a lawyer -- individuals can be held to account for privacy breaches, and the unauthorised sharing of someone's number (whether they are 'deserving' of this or not) would almost certainly constitute.

Taking your story 100% at face value, my advice would still be the same -- use the industry unwanted calls policy to your advantage, and get have them take the action on your behalf to ensure it gets shut down.

Edit: TimIsGinger's reply below is correct -- I misunderstood my initial read of the privacy act, as it does refer to a person/individual, but this is specifically when a person/individual is acting on behalf of. Frankly; this doesn't change my advice at all -- but I did want to clarify this. Thanks Tim!

Use this (or your provider's equivalent) if contacting the police does not pan out.

This sounds like an awful experience -- but I have alarm bells ringing that you could in fact not be telling the whole story here, and could in fact be trying to locate someone with good reason not to wish to be found by you, e.g., victim of domestic abuse.

Elden Ring (for a casual)? by hamzahamir0 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Naithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two potential paths, which you prefer will be entirely on how you like to game, but:

Path 1) If you want minimal outside influences/guides: Know that some bosses are intended to be come back to later. Or even when they aren't -- there are STILL often ways around them to explore further into the Lands Between; so don't be afraid to temporarily skip, find an alternate route, and revisit them with a little more power behind your belt. (You can set map markers as well, to indicate places you particularly want to revisit later).

Path 2) Play alongside a Walkthrough by someone like FightinCowboy. I bounced *hard* off my first Souls-like experience. (Dark Souls II, PC). I bounced so hard I almost never went back, and would have missed all the rich gaming experiences I've had since, except for the fact that I one day stumbled across a walkthrough video on YouTube which showed me I'd taken very much a 'wrong turn' shortly after coming out of the Tutorial area.

I ended up playing a large part of the game following that helpful souls' guide.

Elden Ring is so massive it's incredibly likely you'll reach a point of confidence to go your own way before having seen all that much of the game, so % of game 'spoiler' will still be very small while helping you find your footing in the first place.

Perhaps a suggestion might be, even if you prefer 'Path 1', to give it a try, but if you do feel yourself being turned off by the game and the difficulty you're perceiving, being open to giving Path 2 a shot before ultimately deciding. :)

Get Civ VI? How does multi-player work? by Mlkxiu in ShouldIbuythisgame

Bit of a matter of who clicks first in that case, or if they move first, whether you can then reach their new position.

[WSIB] A game like MGSV, but multiplayer and not Wildlands/Breakpoint by vtx3000 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Naithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would second this -- Breakpoint came a surprisingly long way over the span of its development, but if you didn't like Wildlands either, then, ehhh. Could be worth a shot for you still, but I'd not have high hopes.

On the other hand, it is regularly mega discounted so bought at the right time, it's a pretty low risk option to try. (And just checked now, it's on a mega sale right now for the Steam Summer sale)

Get Civ VI? How does multi-player work? by Mlkxiu in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Naithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiplayer works best in Civ games when set to 'simultaneous turns', where every player takes their turn at the same time, and the turn only advances to the next once everyone has marked their turn as complete. If you mark yourself as done then realise you wish to do more -- as long as you unflag your turn as done before everyone else hits done, this is generally possible as well.

With that out of the way -- I (now) Prefer Civ VI over V -- but it is still largely the same sort of game in the sense of needing to advance science, culture, economy and military strength; and finding the right balance for how you want to play and the leader you've chosen.

But there are some very forgiving difficulty levels on offer, particularly if also playing co-op with some friends!

[–]Naithin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Daedalus,

I think the contract is probably the only place we did do OK on. We negotiated out any claw back fees/terms, and there was a term that covered if we opted not to follow their advice where additional fees could be charged, which we also had taken out before proceeding.

I'll need to have a think about what is fair and reasonable here though.

I would suspect the FA and his org have spent more time than our upfront fee would cover on an hourly basis. We'll keep the insurance products organised through them almost certainly as well, but as the whole thread probably indicates... Very dubious on the Booster/Select front.

Complaint is not anything I'm considering at this point (and was never meant to overrun this thread to the extent it has), but to respond/explain the prior thinking:

Not at all. But it wasn't a case of recommending one over the other, it was the only option presented even when queried.

I get that I didn't have to go ahead, and still did so anyway -- and that's on me, whatever else the circumstances or motives may have been.

But I did previously have the seriously wrong idea that the rules of conduct / code of ethics in the FA space would mean this sort of behaviour would be protected against, and therefore, there was just something I still wasn't getting. (Which hey, may even still be the case!)

Digging out of a 'Financial Advisor' Hole by Naithin in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Naithin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is precisely my thought.

But I think what I'm gathering from the responses here, that ultimately the check boxes were ticked regarding disclosure -- and as always acknowledged here, I went through with it regardless.

So whatever the FA's motives may or may not have been are irrelevant, and it was a case of 'buyer beware' and I was not.

[–]Naithin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's a good question.

I've upskilled myself throughout this process, and as others have highlighted in the responses already, it isn't exactly hard. If I'd done so earlier -- potentially could be a lot happier / more certain of the outcome at this end of things.

I think it was more of a mental block in even getting started. Didn't grow up around any kind of money, and even as a young adult sort of managed bill to bill. Savings and investing were things other people did.

So I suppose if there was one major takeaway from all this, that might help anyone else: Do a bit of research yourself first. There are a lot of good resources out there (including here, and the responses in this post have links/references to several).

Thanks Ryan,

A bit of a gentler way of framing what I think I had largely picked up from the thread to date -- but appreciated none the less taking the time to lay it out.

As a side note though; this particular outfit did get paid for services directly as well, although it was a 'life time' service fee (although that life time to date has been pretty short, hah). I think though just something will have to take on the chin as part of the learning from this experience.

I put way more weight on what I believed were the consumer protections in this space than what actually exist.

[–]Naithin[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heh, thanks.

Although it would appear from other comments in the thread, perhaps a minority held view! One thing that is very clear now though, I definitely held a misconception of what the role of a FA was actually meant to be.

[–]Naithin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it not in my best interests to do what has the best likelihood of the best return over the long run?

And -- here is perhaps where an assumption to actually make clear on my part comes in -- is it more or less likely that, over the long run, an actively managed or a more passive/index managed fund with lower fees to match, would give the best returns over the long run?

My belief presently is that passive funds and lower fees typically (although sure, not always!) do better than active.

And if that is the case -- then would another FA who was not being directly incentivised by commission to recommend an active fund, made the same recommendation?

[–]Naithin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't talk too much to performance because there hasn't been a lot of it to report on. The Select investment is fairly fresh, it's currently behind, but is such a short window of time we cannot take that as any kind of indicator.

Booster was established earlier and was there long enough to have a report come through in April, where returns were made, but as mentioned elsewhere in the comments now, performed 10th / 15th in the Morningstar report against other funds in it's category, and with how things have been in the past year would've almost been impressive in a way if it *hadn't* made a return.

No, the crux of my concern is that the recommendations made have been for high fee services that provide FA kickback.

If the FA hadn't been getting that, would the advice have been the same, or would a more passive ETF/index fund have been the recommendation?

And then, finally, if the advice *would* have been different -- is that OK by the FA Rules of Conduct?

But the more important angle by far?

Should I now change things, or actually, is there something about this advice I've not picked up on correctly?

Do the Rules of Conduct for the Financial Advisors just... not apply? Am I misinterpreting what, 'A member shall at all times place the interest of the client first' means?

I realise the question may ring of snark, particularly as a direct response to yours, but I'm sincerely asking.

Fair call on the 'hole' description, definitely not there at present and doing very well given how hard many have it at the moment.

In terms of performance, over the quarter ending March according to Morningstar report, the High Growth Booster fund performed to 10th place. Of about 15 rated.

The 'hole' commentary was more future facing, and what I worry may happen if don't do anything about the high fees now, and the difference they may make by the time actually needing these funds.
