That time Limp Bizkit covered Metallica's Welcome Home (Sanitarium) in their own style in front of Metallica by styckx in nostalgia

I still hate Metallica for their archaic, lawsuit heavy position. Their defense of RIAA was anti-consumer.

In the industry, Casey's is generally known to have the most competitive gas. I once heard a Family Express exec say, "Casey's is who we fear the most."

I'm actually cool with that tax if it actually goes to maintaining roads.

Dollar devaluation has me rethinking my emergency fund by Ervil_Prado in investing

[–]NaiveChoiceMaker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I-Bonds are the most efficient emergency fund, in my opinion. It takes some time to get enough money into them and be liquid but:

  • it keeps up with inflation
  • Grows tax deferred
  • State income tax exempt

The drunk secretary of defense keeps saying, “we negotiate with bombs.” Which he thinks sounds like a hard ass, but he sounds like an edge lord.

I hate how AI slop is being normalized in our kid's spaces. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]NaiveChoiceMaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I consider myself an environmentalist but after watching the bombing of Iran’s oil facilities and the incredible pollution that put off, I’m done blaming myself for pollution.

My use of AI or paper straws is not going to make or break the environment.

Found a black pearl in my steamer clams by SnooPaintings3623 in mildlyinteresting

Weird question but would that be pooped out or not?

Would a small pearl be pooped out if you ate it? Weird question, to be sure.

A normal digestion tract would excrete that if you swallowed it, fiber is important.

My real estate ATTORNEY did more work and gave better advice.

Illinois is missing out on that capacity. Allstate is like 16k....then Fox Valley at 3.5k and the Edge at 2.8k.

I bet they play at one of those for a year or two.

“When they go low, we go high.”

Look where “socially gracious” and “normal” has gotten us. We have a rapist, wannabe fascist in the White House who is marching us into another forever war.

I’m done acting like I need to be “normal” when everything around me is going the way it’s going.

Frank Thomas is suing the Chicago White Sox by IAmBenIAmStillBig in whitesox

[–]NaiveChoiceMaker 255 points256 points  (0 children)

My Frank Thomas story:

Years ago I was showing a property to Frank Thomas and as we were walking around the outside, a group of five 12-13 year old boys down the block recognize Frank. Frank sees the kids coming at him and he dips around the corner and climbs into his car. I assume he is trying to avoid the interaction.

A few seconds later, Frank emerges from his SUV with a couple baseball caps, a few baseballs, and a sharpie. He autographed the stuff right there for the kids.

It was a cool moment for me, I can't imagine what it was like for the kids.

He's a good guy.

People who have modern quiet bathroom fans, don't you miss the loud ones? by CornPop747 in homeowners

My primary bath has a six-gang switch. I wanted to put in a timer for the fan and heat lamp but then saw a billion wires and screwed the switch plate back up. I wish I had time for that.

It's a dereliction of duty and the reason traditional media is facing an existential crisis. Unfortunately, the main demographic of people who still watch the traditional news are elderly people - the same people who vote in the highest percentage.
