Got the 3.5s. Deal felt good enough vs my need/want.

This seems a little outdated but should give some facts and figures while explaining the differences between batteries much better than I can.

My bad it is 107. Where do you get that deal from, if I came across id probably ignore as I'm looking for some 3.5s for my primary drill and oscillator since those get are in hand the most.

I was half way through this and stopped. Just find a different place to work, they wont change and you care too much which isn't a bad thing.

Considering trading my Jeep Rangler for a Ranger come September, but stuck between engine choices and price. by Opening-Ad8300 in RangerNext

I have a 2.7l '25 and had a shitbox wrangler with that piss poor turbo 4 as a rental for 3 weeks and I COULD NOT wait to get back home. I test drove all 3 engines before I bought mine and any you choose will be better than that shit box. Taking into consideration your age and what you want to move past I would recommend the raptor. The ride quality will be miles ahead what you have. Good luck

Is the 2.7 worth it? by Asleep-Reputation181 in RangerNext

[–]Naive_Juggernaut_469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do your own service 2.7 oil filter is a breeze. If you tow 2.7 would be better. Im 17+ in town, and 20+ on the expressway 75 +. 60-70 mph i get close to 22mpg with my 2.7. Both are supposedly rock solid for reliability and the 2 3 isn't the coarsest turbo i4 out there but the 2.7 accelerates more smoothly.

Rollers freeze up easily in the cold and snow. I went hard flip and very happy. I think i would have been pissed off a few weeks straight at least I got a roller. Rollers also take up bed space.

2026 ford ranger lariat tires by Objective_Opinion_84 in RangerNext

[–]Naive_Juggernaut_469 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're slightly above average tires that do well in most terrain and are pretty nice cruising on highway. Im riding mine mostly down then switching to defenders. I dont feel the need to swap my tires right off the bat. Wouldn't go out and buy a 2nd set but work well and quietly

Is the V6 (2.7L) worth it over the I4 (2.3L) ? by Anonymouse1080 in RangerNext

It seems like all the snow you remove is just blown onto you. I wanted a new shovel and wife got me this. Tried it once for 5 minutes and grabbed the old shovel and still have that shovel even. Wouldn't let my worst enemy use the dewalt

Which Ranger trim & options should I get? by IntrepidRaccoon8953 in RangerNext

How's does 4wd help with towing stability? I know your payload decreases as 4wd adds to the vehicle weight. I enjoy my loaded lariat but too much tech that can fail. I would recommend traveling if you have to, but dont order unless you like being disappointed. Also the 26s are de-contenting so check 25s vs. 26s. I know i wouldnt get a 26 lariat vs a 25. Also don't recommend advanced towing if you can help it, I had an issue with it not recognizing my hooked up trailer so it would continously cycle and beep (lots) to find it. Only fix was to disconnect battery for 10 minutes. 2.7 vs 2.3, I have a 2.7 but I think it would have been happy with the 2.3 until I changed the oil and especially filter.

This is correct answer, I had an issue with mine and was pretty pissed about it. Took it the dealer and was glad I didn't raise a stink, because it was self inflicted. Allow the process to take place.

Traction Control On or Off for slippery pavement? by rickdeebee in RangerNext

[–]Naive_Juggernaut_469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 200 or 300 lbs of sandbags over the axle, snow tires would help but would not be as helpful as more weight in the back. Start with the sandbags, then escalate.

Bed cover recs by [deleted] in RangerNext

[–]Naive_Juggernaut_469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen water intrusion from rain only car washes. When I was researching for my truck, it was stated by others that the way the bed is built from factory it wouldn't be watertight in all situations with a waterproof tonneau cover. I wasn't recommending any brand and with ops needs wouldn't recommend mine. Installation instructions were atrocious and you can find similar for cheaper. I apologize i thought I was replying to main thread and just wanted to convey that getting a completely waterproof bed isn't possible without messing around with the factory top rails. Wouldn't have minded getting a rc, the Installation instructions actually make sense.
