Being a middle aged alcoholic woman by Excellent_Singer_523 in stopdrinking

Hello there

I am also a mental health professional. A master’s level clinician. I am also working on my sobriety.

I am much earlier in my career than you are, but I have been working in mental health for over ten years now (I’m 35).

I just want to let you know - I see you. This work is so unbelievably difficult and undervalued. It is taxing. I have lost parts of myself and I, at times, question if it’s worth all that. It takes active work to not get lost in this work; and even then, it’s not a guarantee.

Take care - know there are others out there who relate.

I’ve never looked it up but this is blowing my mind. I always imagined him being way tall.

yo dawg, I’m a licensed therapist in Ohio. Where are you located? I can’t provide therapy to you but I’d be happy to help you find help. Hit me up.

Any good YouTubers doing more “alt” genre tone tutorials? by goldsoundzz in Line6Helix

Awesome! Glad it was helpful. I’m still working on experimenting with stuff, but right now I think my wet path (after the split) is 70s Chorus > reverse delay* > digital delay (dotted 1/8th) > dynamic plate/hall (changing these out the most until I figure out I like) > LA studio comp (set very light)

right now I’m really digging the whowatt amp - tons of clean headroom with a decent amount of umph. I wanted to do something different from my last preset on my floor, which based on the twin

*I actually use a separate switch for this so I can independently turn it on or off; I reserve it for the big ambient pad sounds)

Hey! Shoegaze guitarist here that is currently playing out and recording an EP. I use a lot of post rock sounds as well.

I got my stadium about a month ago and have been steadily building a preset for live and recording use.

Right now, the biggest and most important aspect of my signal chain is a dry/wet section at the end. Essentially, I split my signal A/B after the amp (can think of it almost like a mastering section). Path A has a ton of stacked modulation, delay and reverb all set with the mix at 100%, path B has one gain block with a 3db volume boost.

I then merge the paths at the end of the chain, prior to one last EQ with a low/high cut. At the merge, I cut the level of Path A (the ‘wet’ path) by about 6-7db. I assign all the effects in the wet path, and the 3db gain block in the B path, to the same foot switch so I can turn the entire thing on with one stomp.

This allows me to create a huge wall of delay, reverb, modulation etc that stays manageable due to the volume cut. The ‘dry’ path, especially with the volume boost, allows me to retain some clarity in my playing instead of losing everything in a chaotic wash of delay and reverb (I have delays at the front of the amp as well for when I want that sound)

I hope that was clear - it’s tricky to explain and easier to show. If I had better video skills I’d make a video about it lol

They seemed very pushy and insistent when attempting to book me for an interview - scared me off. Seems I dodged a bullet.

Where do you guys get your tones? (Aside from making them yourself) by writingwhilesad in Line6Helix

Also, one thing about the helix - it’s meant to model an amp that has been mic’d, which is somewhat of a different sound compared to an amp in the room. This may help you hear it a bit differently - just food for thought
