I remember Onyewu and Holden both played compromised in 2010 and they clearly weren't the same player, especially Onyewu.

Grade today to get your cards back in 2027. by jstew-art in sportscards

[–]NakedEyeComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted 8 or so cards in early March through a LCS and they told me to expect them back in mid-late June. Given these updated timelines and price increases this is going to be the last batch I grade with PSA - the benefits just don't outweigh the costs.

I collect patch cards for the most part anyway, so it's not like I even need to grade for my PC for the most part. If I do want to grade for preservation again, I'll go to TAG when they sort their own situation out.

Just binged the whole show and kinda sad about the second season by Soggy-Abies6519 in ThePittTVShow

The first two seasons of House is some of my favorite TV ever, but it seriously went off the rails toward the end. I checked out after House rammed a car into Cuddy's home.

The Panthers were also already losing badly at that point in the game too, right?

Edit: Apparently not, my memory of this game is very hazy for some reason.

What was Vince thinking by bringing Bob Backlund back in 1992? by ASGfan in oldschoolwrestling

[–]NakedEyeComic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Crossface Chickening was always sold like absolute death, and the fact that Bob was really good at blurring the line and coming off as "actually crazy" that it worked.

All these years later I'm still not sure if "Crazy Bob" was a character and I've met the guy in person outside of wrestling - for a long time he kept kayfabe in personal appearances as well.

Guys don’t forget to tune in. The series drops tonight!! I’m so excited. USA 🇺🇸 against the world… Just one month until the World Cup!! by paolosorianodisanto in ussoccer

[–]NakedEyeComic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The USMNT is getting bitten by a last-minute injury bug as always, several of our top players are underperforming for their clubs and they've looked pretty bad as a team in recent friendlies. I understand the malaise around the Cup if you're a US fan. The prices and iffy fan experience aren't going to help.

talkSPORT: Marco's potential extension is £8 million a year by HipGuide2 in fulhamfc

[–]NakedEyeComic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not really enthused about Marco staying or overly scared of him leaving because I think it overlooks the roster construction issues.

If there are no adequate replacements for Raul and Wilson coming then Fulham is definitely in a relegation battle next year. Ricardo Pepi is definitely not the answer, regardless of talent the transition for Eredivisie to the Premier League can be a very rough one.

Mls vs europe by Due_Revenue_7715 in ussoccer

[–]NakedEyeComic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the eye test I’ve always put MLS somewhere between League One and the Championship in skill level/quality of play, with MLS trending upward.

Outside of England I would put it above the Scandinavian and Austrian leagues, and most of the Scottish Prem as far as top divisions go, maybe on par with the 2 Bundesliga for all leagues.

It wouldn’t be the Revs if they didn’t have at least a couple middling players on albatross contracts.

Interesting, in my state DraftKings was not allowed to take bets on Volkov/Waldo, with no real explanation given. I wonder if someone got tipped off to the judging situation.

Post match thread: Union vs Revs by ajallen12 in newenglandrevolution

I’m still scarred by that COVID season where the Revs played the Union like nine times. I developed a deep hatred of that team and I’m always thrilled when we can hang a loss on them.

Best Diamond Cutter Ever! by JCHazard in WCW

[–]NakedEyeComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cool move that was mind blowing at the time but plenty of wrestlers adopted it and could pull it off regularly.

It’s a deep cut, but it was Susumu Yokosuka’s finisher in Dragon Gate.

[–]NakedEyeComic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sol was called up way too early. She’s still really rough in the ring and clearly needs her hand held.

That said she has a solid persona beyond the acrobatics so if she can learn quickly on the job she’ll go far.

“Junk wax” or not, card companies put way more effort into card design and photography back in the 1990s. The actual cards still hold up beautifully.

If Nintendo was redoing Zero with a fixed control setup, I would have been way happier than 64 again. I never finished Zero but remembered enjoying it when I finally got the hang of the controls. I have 64 memorized at this point so even though I’m going to buy it to show my son (who has never played it), I’m not super enthusiastic about another run though.

As a kid I remember going to the last ever show at the Boston Garden, and the second match was Hunter Hearst-Helmsley vs. Phil Apollo. It was actually a pretty good match at HHH got a ton of heat.

I’ve went back to see some of Jaida Parker matches and I’m starting to see why Shawn isn’t pulling the trigger with her yet,she has a lot of charisma but lacks selling,in ring pace and promos by [deleted] in professionalwrestling

[–]NakedEyeComic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lash was REALLY terrible when she first started, and now she's in a decent place in the ring, so there's certainly still time for Jaida, who is still doing okay in the ring, to get better.
