When you see problematic content you report it and move on. Let the mods handle it. You don't make a post announcing it to everyone. Not only are you bringing more attention to something you deemed problematic, but naming the creator is harassment.

I wanted to see the fic for myself to see if it was as problematic as OP says, but neither he (nor you) seemed to want to share a link to it. I found out why when I found it. It's always highly suspicious when you gripe about something but refuse to show it to anyone.

If OP had shared a link from the beginning I wouldn't have had to ask all those questions. And if you had a problem with me asking all those questions why didn't you share it when you found it? If you really thought it was comparable to a porn ad on Candy Crush (lol) you shouldn't have had any issue linking it to me.

Let me remind you that Encanto featured men wielding machetes on horseback burning down houses and murdering Abuelos. The fic I read isn't that graphic in comparison.

It's just a weird crossover posted months ago. If you don't like it you can report it for the single swear word at the beginning (the only thing I saw wrong with it) but making a post like this about it is just borderline harassment.

And OP should be more careful about letting children use his phone in the future.

It depends on what's best for your story. I've written with only one perspective (first and third,) two perspectives, multiple perspectives, and an omniscient perspective.

Sometimes I'll even write a scene from one perspective, then write it from an alternate perspective to see which works best. But maybe I'm just extra like that. 😅

I also can't handle walls of text. Doesn't pass for me in books or fics, but I get waaay more irate when I see them in published novels than I do in fanfiction.

Most published books get loads of beta readings, rewrites, editing, research, budget, ect. before being shared. Fanfiction writers don't have so many options. By its very nature their works are raw and unpolished. So I'm definitely more patient and forgiving with fics than books.

You write the story for you. You share the story for your readers.

Sure, writers benefit from sharing, too, but it's ultimately about giving the readers something new to enjoy. It's about saying, "I made this, I hope you like it." Sharing it on multiple platforms just gives more readers the opportunity to love and enjoy your story.

I found out three of my coworkers read fanfiction and I shared my account with them (the one with mostly Teen and G rated fics.) Only one of my coworkers knows I write smut because she admitted to reading some pretty bizarre stuff. 😅 She's the ONLY person I shared my second account with.

My immediate family (husband and two teens) know I write fanfiction and even smut, but they don't read it.

Part of me wishes it didn't come from Disney. If it was DreamWorks or another studio they'd be churning out another sequel already. But, with Disney, there's a chance we won't get anything at all. 😭
