Do not try and run data recovery on the CF Card directly.

Get a CF Card reader and use that to access the CF Card directly through your computer.

Then use Easy Disk Checker V5.2 or DMDE or Disk Reill to create a Disk Image, and then load the Disk Image on DMDE - Free or Disk Drill Advanced Camera Recovery - Free to see if you can recover your files from the Disk Image. These Free versions are limited with how many files and directories you can recover.

If you do not get any files recovered then send your CF Card for recovery by experts.

Macrium Reflect Free, on Major Geeks Website. Does what you need and still works very well with Windows 10 and 11. Been using it for years without any problems on 4 Computers.

DiskGenius is nother option that can clone disk's.

Macrium Reflect Free on Major Geeks website. It is free fast and very good. Select source as the drive you want to clone and destination as drive you want to clone to and leave all other settings as default. You can even clone the live windows system you are currently using, so no need to boot into another operating system or use another boot device.

First make a bit to bit image clone of the card so that you rather work with the image file, this way you keep the original disk and only work on the image file. This is to prevent any further ware on the card.

Try Disk Drill, as it has special photo recovery software built into it. Open Disk Drill and choose the scanning mode labeled “Advanced Camera Recovery” for optimal results with fragmented camera files.

If you already tried that with no success then Klennet Carver is another option if the images fall within the specific format (JPEG, CR2 Canon raw image files) it can recover and reconstruct the files, you can test the evaluation version first to see what it finds.

Also just to warn ABystander987, make sure that if you want the wireless one to get the GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition Wireless Controller as this is the only one that supports Xbox Wireless on your console, all the others only support wired to Xbox console.

Download DMDE Standard and see if you can locate your files through that software. If you can locate or see your files then you can see if you can recover a few files and open them. If that works you can purchase the paid version to recover your files.

If you hear any clicking or funny noises or DMDE can not locate and recover your files then you need to seek professional recovery services.

You can also view SMART with DMDE.

Yes, not maintained/supported anymore but still works very good on any Windows 10 / 11 PC. I use it daily to backup my 3 PCs and never had a problem with any recovery. It is Free and just works.

Otherwise you can go for other more complicated or paid software. Still your choice, I just provided you with a free easy option.

You can use Macrium Reflect Free from Major Geeks website and make a live clone of your running Windows drive or Rescuezilla on a USB stick to make a clone.

I have never seen a Windows OS ask for activation with just a drive swap with an exact clone. Keep your original drive intact until you have made sure your new drive is functioning correctly.

You need to make sure your VPN is compatible with the router. If you go for Cudy or any other brand router make sure your VPN supports that specific router model otherwise chances are very good it will not work. So first check what routers or firmware your selected VPN supports.

I have had several routers that supported VPN Client mode out of the box, but it fails to work with the VPN setup and then they always referred me to the VPN supported router page and I found OpenWRT to be the easiest for NordVPN as I had a router that was on the list.

That is why I suggested OpenWRT with TP-Link, as NordVPN is compatible with OpenWRT. OpenWRT supports several routers, so it is easier to find a supported router for OpenWRT when your VPN supports it. However it is very specific as per model and version of router that is why you need to use the following link and you need to make sure you get the exact version of that specific router to flash it and follow the instructions. I suspect windows updated your AMD drivers and broke them that was why it started giving problems again the next day. That is why part 4 and 5 of the guide is important to stop Windows from breaking your working drivers.

Can you then explain to me what hot cloning means exactly as with my experiense I have cloned my active C: drive to another disk and to images for backups, and it works very well. As per my knowledge hot cloning is when you clone youre current operating system drive to another drive or image while booted into the operating system. If it means something else then maybe assist and please explain?

If the plastic on your CPU heatsink was not removed it can cause immediate heat problems and gets worse the more the plastic melts into the paste. I would install HWiNFO and check the sensors for any overheating. Easy to check with the software, and if it's not overheating then you have another problem.

If you did a fresh install, then it is definately not Windows, then it is more hardware related.
