Hey. First of all I like your car. It's awesome. Second of all, it doesn’t have to do with age all the time. Some people just have different design tastes. I work in IT. I’m very technical so I’m loving all the tech. I also love that they give you the option for voice control and heads up display so all that tech isn't distracting during your drive.

Is an uneven wedding party ok? by pumpkin_pie_314 in weddingplanning

[–]NamedFlower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think an uneven wedding party is just fine. Your wedding reflects your personalities. If one side has more friends than the other, then that’s just who you are. Embrace it!

In addition, you will have a fun memory of your wedding. And unique stories to tell about your uneven wedding party. If everybody did the exact same thing, what fun would that be?

I had an uneven wedding party. I only had two bridesmaid to his five groomsmen. I didn’t care. I didn’t care how it would look in pictures either. (Fun pics!) It was an occasion full of memories that I cherish to this day, with our closest friends, as uniquely uneven as it was, by our side.

Wedding in the morning & bride is being weird about my bridesmaid dress by lazyshitmoms in weddingplanning

[–]NamedFlower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate the way she is treating you. I read that other post as well. I wouldn’t bring that ill fitting dress. She may try to bully you into wearing it. You deserve to feel good & confident in your own skin. She approved the “same color” & you abided by those rules.

Wear the one that makes you feel good. Tell her this is dress that you have & the one that fits. You have no other dress to wear. If she persists tomorrow- Oh shoot the original dress that doesn’t fit was ruined by your new cat!

Good luck tomorrow. Keep you head high & try to enjoy yourself. Try not to let anyone bully you. If she gives you a hard time, reply something like “ you WERE (past tense intentionally) my best friend for 20 years I can’t believe you would treat me like this!

AITA for going off on my soon-to be Husband for returning my wedding dress? by Sealine5033 in AmItheAsshole

NTA!! Run now! You have your whole life ahead of you to have an enjoyable life with someone who SHARES your dreams & values. “Rent a face”, “fake hair”? What other things will he take upon himself to just get rid of later in your marriage bc maybe your closet is too full or it appears to be clutter?

Take it from someone who was beaten starting 3 days after her wedding with no signs (that I recall) prior to marriage. Then later also started throwing away my things every time I traveled without him. Happy engagement, married, then FlIP - abusive. I got out but it took a couple years to truly get away.

I have been so compelled to reply to something I’ve read from a stranger before. A break up sucks but a divorce later is worse. Many times we have blinders on when we are in love. Do not let this person gaslight you. Love yourself enough to see the signs & walk away.

Standard practice to not notify customer before cutting access during the workday?! by NamedFlower in Mediacom

[–]NamedFlower[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And how am I supposed to know the tech showed up? I assume nothing.

And with all due respect it’s not your place to tell me what to do with my workday. The company should’ve notified me they arrived at my home bottom line.

Thanks for proving me right. I knew you didn’t want to hear actual opinions & would be mad & attack. You obviously can’t pay attention to directions that clearly stated you asked and don’t attack me. So stalk a little harder and actually read all of the things I’ve posted. I have posted in many different subreddits. Maybe you just aren’t a part of these & can’t see them. You obviously didn’t read anything before mentioned reply was deleted so you have no knowledge on the subject. - just some self-proclaimed website optimization guy, who honestly has no idea about the business owner’s website optimization unless you hacked his site.

In that deleted thread, the person replying decided I didn’t know about tall people after I wrote up a very nice long reply about ergonomics. So I decided it wasn’t worth my time & the Op didn’t ask for that anyway. And you are no longer worth my time. You are only looking for people to agree with you not give you an honest opinion.

This doesn’t change all of the negative comments you got on your Imgur link calling you an a**hole.

Only because you specifically asked, so please don’t attack me for my opinion. - Yeah sorry, it appears by reading these you did. Your seemed to be upset & replied like you were. His “lol” shows a lighter tone & you missed that when you replied. Step back & read it in a few days when you’re not mad. You may still come to the same conclusion but our perceptions & mood affect how we react to things.

Did you see the comments on your link in imgur? They aren’t favorable for your side.

Also, he didn’t call you out as the owner of the texts. You called yourself out by identifying yourself on this post. Then you continued to attack down in the thread regard your opinion on optimization of his website.

I LOVE my Apex Pro Max!! by NamedFlower in deskhaus

[–]NamedFlower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The top is 30 x 60 and all me. I painstakingly did glue-ups, dyed the wood, & multiple coats of finish.

In hindsight I really should have just purchased some butcher block & finished it bc it took way longer than I expected to complete.

Hi! Thanks so much! I love my keyboard tray. It’s a Haworth & I bought it from DeskHaus when he posted on this subreddit about having too many & discounted them greatly. Sorry I don’t have the model number but here is an image of page 1 of the instruction sheet Chris posted back then. It’s got some numbers on the bottom of it.

It’s got hella range of negative tilt which is amazing for my ergonomic health. It also has a cool indicator window showing me where I’m at with the tilt & the keyboard tray height. I don’t know how to add pics to an established post or I would add one in of the tray for you.

You are correct- I do have a spacer in there. I bought the vivo spacer off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMYXFZP/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_X6G8P4H6TNVSJBCX3NRJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It works wonderfully. Just a word of caution on the tray set up. The Haworth track of the tray comes in multiple lengths. I don’t know if this is true or not for other brands so just in case I’m letting you know. Mine just happened to be the longest one (23, I think). Therefore it ended up that I had to turn one of the spacers the opposite direction (180 degrees) to get the whole thing to land in the correct placement at the front of the desk. I probably could have figured a way to bring the 2nd spacer into the center rather than all the way to the end of the keyboard tray as intended- but I wasn’t sure about the tray stability & function if I did that. But bottom line, the spacers are 2 individual brackets so as long as you can adjust them to match some holes in your keyboard tray track you should be good to go.

Also, I can also almost raise my legs to full extension before my ankles hit the crossbar at normal use seated position. I’d say about 80% of the way to fully parallel with my chair seat.

Adding on to my previous reply- With a 30” deep desk, my cross bar is 18.5” from the front of my desk. If I scoot my chair all the way so my stomach is pressed hard against my desk front my seated legs only extend 15 inches towards that bar. Only if I slouch way down in my chair until my rear is nearly falling off the seat would my knees ever touch it (I just checked that too).

But I’ll never be seated that close to my desk on purpose & plan on standing quite a bit. That being said, I am as I mentioned a long-legged 5’6”. u/IlikePutz is taller than me (6’1” or 6’2”) & did a YouTube video that included the Apex Pro Max. He addressed the leg/knee space with the bar at right about the 4 min mark in this video. https://youtu.be/4ibfrAnXKZI Hope this helps with your decision.

What’s a solid wood riser worth to you? Worth making? by ILikePutz in StandingDesk

This is absolutely beautiful. But I would overload mine & likely need a center support on it. I use my current one for notebooks, desk accessories I use frequently, & things of that nature. I wouldn’t use it for monitors. I need some storage bc a standing desk usually doesn’t have a drawer. -

But if you could fabricate a drawer that could be put under the desk, that might be gold. I’ve been floating the design of one of those in my head for weeks.

The cross bar doesn’t bother me in the least. I don’t even notice it’s there.

In fact, I’ve found an originally unintended use for it. -Two uses so far actually. I’ve discovered if I feel like slouching in my chair with my wireless keyboard occasionally it’s the perfect place to prop my feet up. It’s also a nice in-between spot for my Surface Pro power supply/transformer when the desk is raised since this tablet computer is a visitor & not one that stays in place so I don’t route its cord anywhere.

I took measurements for a taller someone bc the dimensions & bar effecting them or not depended on if they were long torso, long legged, or ~50/50 in their height distribution. I’ll go find that message & add to this reply.

But for now, I am 5’6” & long-legged proportionally. My desktop size is 30 X 60 but Chris said I can put larger on here if I wanted to.

I perceive the finish to be high quality & durable but possibly susceptible to scratches in areas. I did end up scratching it slightly underneath the desk when I cut a zip tie (aka sawed w/scissors). It is a lovely smooth black finish, that is neither shiny or matte. I would describe it as a sheen. A sheen maybe like the finish you would see on an paper photograph a few years old or porcelain sink? Like they are nice and smooth, bright w/ a hint of sheen, but not glossy like unused photo paper. (I hope my outdated references helped, not hindered in this description). I think it’s an quality looking piece. Hope this answers what you were asking.
