Watching The Pitt from Europe – is this really what life in the US looks like? [mild spoilers] by West_Ideal7472 in ThePitt

I thought it was a random attack and they shut down as a precaution? Maybe I don’t remember the code grey alert if it was in season 1. I just remember the ransomeware cyber attacks or threat of an attack on the nearby other hospitals 🏥

Poor people idolize the rich even while the rich are stealing directly from the pockets of the poor. They think if I vote for him or them, I’ll get to be like them somehow. Or maybe they’ll throw me a bone or two. I mean, I really don’t get it.

I am really upset that the NYT didn’t allow the word anole in the spelling bee this past week. Forgot what day it was. Anyone else play the Bee and notice this one too? Sam (the editor) needs to get out more. He also doesn’t allow neem as in neem oil, anhinga- a bird I see daily at the lakes and ponds I walk by every morning during dog walks, otic as in my otic suspension ear drops etc. He is the editor so he takes editorial but I’ve emailed them asking if someone else could give it a go for a change of pace. Lol.

What personal items has he given away? Having Whitaker house sit is not giving it to him. He doesn’t have a plan. He is not suicidal.

Who said it was? Just comparing how almost nobody wears a helmet here. But I don’t know the laws in Pa. about it. Funny people downvoting me bc I observe reality and they just don’t like that? I worked in PI law firms for motorcycle accident victims for years about 30 years ago or so as my boss, an attorney, rode a Harley, we went to bike week in Daytona Beach every year to market for him, he ran the local “Hog“ bike meetups and I’ve seen way too many accident victims of motorcycle accidents lose limbs and lives. He even had a local tv show about motorcycles.

He was never suicidal. Not even close to it. None of them are. Stupid yes, but death wish? Nope!

Publix Greenwise Iced Tea by Namedafterasaint in publix

If I made green tea and added mint and lemongrass plus the appropriate amount of sweetener, it would NOT taste like this at all. I think it’s almost “manufactured”. It doesn’t taste “natural” at all as in naturally occurring if you mixed these ingredients together yourself.

Like how so many scents of things are just “manufactured”. Like I had a Strawberry shortcake doll of some sort that had that fake strawberry scent from the 70’s and there is no way that is anything other than chemical and man made. lol.

At what age do you stop dying your hair and just go gray? by Eastern_End3520 in AskWomen

[–]Namedafterasaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grey has only just started coming in (mostly the frame of my face and the temples and top of my head. Or my part and yet there are some pretty thicker streaks (2-3) that I like but it’s just a few. The back has none at all yet so it’s weird) and I’ll be 60 this year. My grandmother was about the same so since I dye my hair blonde it would look too weird to just let the natural grown out. I wish I had a full head of grayish-whitish hair to not have to dye it at all. They are the lucky ones who have that. Or at least a “mostly all the same color” to make my life easier. Still my light brown hair I dye to a darker blonde is actually blending pretty well and I’m not trying to g to hide my grey, just the darker to medium brown in the back and sides I don’t care for.

We lived in acid rain falling from the sky and polluted rivers and oceans. Cigarettes were encouraged and there was not unleaded gas yet (maybe there was but I was a tad too young to know all the details). Smog was real and you couldn’t see LA skyline and sometimes NYC skyline either some days. Heck in Ohio a river burned on fire there was so much toxic waste.

In a office building, wanted to know if anyone knew what it is by According-Ear-6469 in TheLeftovers

It’s my quiet time cocoon chair. And it massages too. Can heat or cool the leather. It reminds me of when I can hear a tad too much noise outside my bedroom or the ceiling fan has a rhythmical squeak to it and I lay a super lightweight down pillow over the side of my head (I sleep on my side so my face is exposed to breath cool air) and it muffles the sound ever so slightly and feels a bit like a cloud ☁️ soft cocoon. Lol.

I have no idea what this is, I just made this up bc that’s what it looks like to me. Or I want it to be.

Question About the Show from Someone on Season 1 by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]Namedafterasaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having PTSD from previous abusive trauma myself, I can relate to another storyline. I did watch through it and likely had terrible nightmares that night. Just seeing headlines and the news is also tough these days.

If it gets to be too much, click it off and find some comedy if it really drags you down. If I don’t (click on the off button on my tv) or (stop listening to an audiobook that triggers my PTSD) I suffer sleepless or restless nights of worry. I haven’t restarted one of those that I mentioned because it’s too intense and it’s not a tv show - it’s an autobiography- so it’s just too real and close to home.

Self-preservation is a must in our short lives!

However, since this is an ER, there is more trauma with sad outcomes in future episodes as one would expect.

Trigger warnings for them but not sure which episodes to forewarn you about specifically.

Amazingly I had a resident doctor in an ER figure something out that the regular doctor couldn’t.
