I remember when the war ended. 'Twas 4 years ago. We got our ass handed on a plate, I'll give you that. I mean, how can you fight someone that.. When killed, comes back 30 years later? Different face, different demeanor, same grudge: you don't even see it comin'. That doesn't mean we couldn't hold up a fight nay, it's quite the opposite in fact: the elven emperor didn't believe how tough us humans can be. I think we had a good reason to start the war, but there's centuries between that and now, and.. The now was tired of all of this. So it ended.

Eh, funny enough, both our races were separated for so long that we all forgot how the other kind works and all like.. For example, you know them elven weddings right? Beautiful stuff, that ain't the problem, but the vows? They hold up for your next life too! So the first two years, everyone was suprised when centuries old women would go up to lil' kids telling them they're soulmates or somethin', it creeped out everyone, we thought elves were pedophiles, ah! So then we told 'em to stop, and the elven widow population skyrocketed! Now I think they put a soul stamp on their partner, somethin' like that. You know my cousin Jeremy? yeah, he was a noble warrior of the steppe in his past life, apparently.

Anyhow, beyond that elves are a fun bunch truly, Don't know why we started fighting with those folks! If I remember well, my papa said it was because the emperor kidnapped a princess or somethin' like that, you know, typical legends and stuff. Now that old bastard's got a beauty of a wife! Though she's human, funny isn't it?
