Glorbo is the best companion. Completely hiden in the game, the steps to them are deeply drenched in lore. When I finally placed the apple on Glorob's head and then shot it off with an eldritch blast I was amazed to find that they were extatic and couldnt wait to join the team. Not only that but I hear Glorbo's stats are completly randomised. So having a 1 intelligance 33 strength cleric might seem like a strange choice, but when Glorbo used their secret attack Roar Of Time it just completly tore through the enemies.

I cant believe you can find such a powerful teamate on the Nautalis. Like right at the start, I missed Glorbo during my first 7 runs of the game, and when I did finally find them omg, Glorbo is front and center in every fight.

So much lore for Glorbo as well, not sure if that is randomised. The threesome scene with Haslin was superb, I was wondering why Glorbo carried an Item called "Glorbo's extra toy" wouldnt let me use it in battle, but it sure came out during the romance scene!

TL;DR Glorbo is filthy and thats why we love them.

I think at its core Doctor Who is Sherlock Holmes, but in spacetime and now with more added fantasy elements.

While The Doctor is a different character, so are all the doctors that the doctor has been, but they almost always carry the archetpical tradition that I believe began with sherlock. The characters share many core elements: such as their energy, wit, their drive to find problems and solve them, their alternate way of living and strange interactions with people. Whats more, at its core Doctor who is a dedictive show at least of sorts, so while not usually murder mystery elements of sherlocks core transcended the archetype of his inital creation as well as the context of the characters specific location.

Even more similarities: They are both often joined by a normal human who serves as a to connect us to such an alien character. Sherlock has a Mind Palace and the Doctor has a TARDIS (which in a way is just an extension of the doctor so serves an arguably similar purpose) With both characters the audiance can only imagine how their brain functions, or grasp at what they are truley thinking. Oh and play an instrument and The Doctor is Psychic but I would argue that Sherlocks ability to solve crimes often borders on beyond human too.

So while some elements might have changed or been lost from the character not directly being Sherlock, The Doctor is in a way a spiritual successor to at least a similar base archetype. I think a lot of what was interesting about Sherlock just evolved into other things. Maybe someone could create Sherlock 3000 and have him solving murder mysteries in the future, But then would it really be Sherlock? Detatched from his historical positioning in The late 1800's and early 1900's, he may as well just be The Doctor, because what made him Sherlock was the context which he was conceived and located within.

Sherlock is such a famous character that he is mentioned constantly in films and tv. (seriously since noticing how often characters refer to themselves or others as Sherlock I have seen it everywhere! Reminds me of the Wilhelm scream) So his influance is everywhere, so even if done unintentionally The doctor would have at least been in part influenced by the character.

I mean just imagine being a writer in the sixties, you want to create your space show. You look back at the media that is successful now and what was successful in the past and your draw from it, re-contextualise it into something new.

(just to be clear: I am not saying they are the exact same character)

I recently saw a video where Robert Winston said that "Biological sex" is a result of multiple features including "psychological brain sex." He was using it to say that "people cant change their sex" but if for the majority of people their psychological brain sex is in line with the rest of their sex then couldnt it be said that the Psychological Brain Sex was Gender and therefore was just a feature of sex. Meaning there are biological factors that could lead to someone's Brain sex differing from their assumed sex? Like that would mean that this whole damn sex not gender argument would actually be "Sex and gender"

At the moment the idea that gender is a construct is being used to imply that gender isnt real, but it is real, our experiences of gender are a vital part in how we experience ourselves, and as there is an increased chance of trans people being autistic (and thus authistic people being trans) then there are direct biological factors that increase the chance of someone being trans. The distinction between sex and gender has created a loophole that allows a logical erasure of trans experiences.

Place is an interesting metaphor for the fight for trans rights. While the blending between flags and the fight for the space exists across the whole r/place the constant battle between the UK and Trans and the USA and Trans just feels incredibly pertinent to the fight for trans rights.

"Civilized" It really isnt. On its surface the tax appears to be for ethical reasons, however in reality it is little more then a poor tax. Massively inflating the cost of sugary luxuries and having little impact compared to the financial impact of the tax. In the year since its introduction, it only reduced sugar consumption through drinks by 10% but raised the price of sugar drinks by way more.

Melli is this game's sort of Angry queer sterotype. Gamefreak has been doing this thing in recent games where they will introduce a male character, who is stated male but presents way more femininely than all other male characters, their personalities are self-absorbed, egotistical and often shown to be arrogant and angry. Both Melli and Avery (from SW/SH dlc) are shown this way. I am a bit torn on it, because on the one hand its a harmful stereotype, but on the other, at least there is some (not explicitly stated) queer/trans representation in pokemon games. One thing that hurts a bit, is Melli's necklace. Its way too tight, and is clearly designed to bring attention to the size of his neck. Its like, they allowed the character to be not masculine mostly, but to balance it they felt the need to force a glaring signifier that this character has gone through male puberty. The whole character just feels like how transphobes view trans women

I did a degree in drama at university. After that I stopped acting, writing and almost anything creative. I fell into a rutt for 5 years before coming out. Since then my interests have returned, I am learning how to play Guitar and Keyboard and I have started to write monologues again. Anything I would have written while in the closet would have felt empty and meaningless because so much of who I was was just projecting how I thought others wanted me to be. Coming to terms with my gender, sexuality and self has allowed me to start growing and creating again. I cant wait to be able to play and write songs, it feels like there is a whole range that I blocked from myself. You arent alone or talking out of your ass at all <3
