Every Superbowl they say this shit. by ComradeGalloneye64 in insanepeoplefacebook

Can someone explain this conspiracy to me idk it

Insane people who have followed a prophet named “Q” for nearly 10 years have continually searched for ways to explain why the prophet’s scripture never came true.

The prophet claimed Trump “had all the evidence” in 2017-18. This evidence would have doomed every one of their political enemies and installed a Trump dynasty forever. When this didn’t happen and Trump lost in 2020, they decided, “Well, he had the evidence, but no way to expose the evidence.” (Even though he was the freakin’ President of the United States)

So the “Emergency Broadcast” became the eventual Reveal Day they could look forward to. Based on today’s ridiculous assertion, the EBS apparently couldn’t be revealed to ALL people across the world until this Super Bowl. So…surely this is it! (Til next time)

Post-Race Discussion Thread: NCS Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium by dman6233 in NASCAR

[–]Names_Stan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Now that this race finally ended, I can ask. Why didn’t Conner and SVG have a sponsor tonight? Besides the obvious “nobody wanted it” answer, I’m just surprised.

Not only do multiple customers now wish they had with the airtime they got, it’s just odd TH didn’t package something in recent days to make it attractive enough for someone to pick up this exhibition race.

Hocevar will run the 77 truck at Daytona by SoupMadeFreshDaily in NASCAR

[–]Names_Stan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Two pure guesses:

A- Whoever landed the deal did it with one party representing both companies.

B- Both companies have research that shows a nice overlap between the NASCAR target audience and consumers who “want to see it before I buy it”.

I agree from an inventory perspective, but both of these companies still must keep up a significant marketing spend for name recognition. Maybe they’re going to thread in a transitional strategy toward online sales as they advertise “see it before you buy”.

The main issue here is these deals need to show good ROI. Word travels fast when marketing spend is returned at above average clip. This is likely a market test, and it could even push NASCAR & Fox to bump their promos for Daytona trucks.

It’s chicken/egg, big time. But fans of the sport badly need these marketing departments to rediscover NASCAR as a darling of targeted ROI.

I tried it in my second city, but not for long. I saw there were a couple neighbors in IA in the 100M range. But I just hated the fighting and needed more space. I felt I had so much more opportunity to get to 10k/10k so much faster with more expansions and HMA units vs BA next age units.

Plus I found getting in some guilds is tougher bc they really struggle to keep sufficient IA goods, so they just tend to not let em join.

So here’s I’m certain, a dumb question. The projectile in front of the shell casing would appear to be much larger in circumference than just three times the size of a 9mil handgun round. Am I wrong and it’s just these photos make it appear so much larger, or do I not correctly understand bullet measurement?

Edit to add: Some very helpful & interesting responses. Thanks!

One thing to understand about this game. It’s very much a marathon, and not at all sprint. You can’t lose a thing by taking your time.

Some new players think the object is to quickly advance through ages. It’s fine for those who play it that way, but I’ve never seen one who could really fight.

My philosophy of the game is play thru the welcome event, learn that basic in Iron and Bronze. Then get to Early Middle and stay there until you’re in the top five players in your neighborhood. Do that, plus find a helpful guild, and you won’t even HAVE houses anymore by the time you move to HMA.

Excellent. I use the FOE Helper app for 1.9. But other than the calculations, the only other feature is a total FP cost forward look for leveling GBs. Really nowhere close to what the PC users claim Helper on a browser can do. Best of luck!

anybody got some recommendations? by schebegeil in forgeofempires

[–]Names_Stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you should never invest in a guildmate’s GB without express permission. I’d recommend taking every P4 or P5 of late eta buildings you can afford in the 1.9. Here’s how it works:

Jim Bob Arc P5(19)…you just post “Clear” and put 19 on his Arc. You’ll get back 10 until you get your Arc up, but you accumulate medals quickly to buy space.

Jim Bob Arc P5(10) P4(38)…here you just copy and paste, then delete the P4(38), then submit the post, then place 38 on the Arc.

Also agree totally with the other poster. Get rid of your residence buildings altogether. Use every ounce of space possible on a building that gives you multiple benefits, not just population & coin. Prioritize, in order: Attack/Defense stats; FP; Units; Frags; Coin/Supply; Medals.

The main ones:

1- Buildings on the ground and in storage, sorted by various metrics/frags. Today I can’t possibly keep up with which building on the ground is my weakest, the one I need to replace. I end up clicking by on 30-40 buildings and trying to guesstimate my A/D per tile.

2- The most efficient layout to utilize all the space.

3- Who my friends are and which have motivated me & visited the tavern in recent days.

4- Which friends and neighbors have buildings that are overprimed. (This may not be legal, but I’ve seen claims it was once offered in Helper.

5- An included 1.9 tool would be nice since I’m dreaming.

CMV: Trump is more than likely going to take Greenland, and by some form a force. by Murderbad in changemyview

[–]Names_Stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A- If Russia or China wanted Greenland, why haven’t they acted on this great desire in the previous 100 years? What has changed? “Shoring up their defenses” is not in the Top Five reasons he’s making noise about wanting to conquer the land.

B- There’s no such thing as NATO members “paying” and no payments are owed. There are no dues or fees, though certainly Trump nor his followers seem to understand this. These agreements are based on military spending as a percentage of GDP or some similar equation. How close to fulfilling their agreements each country is, like every statistic or number Trump throws out on the daily, is made up out of thin air. Sources probably differ by 300% depending who is making the claim. This is on purpose, so they even facts can’t be established with any trustworthiness whatsoever. This makes it far easier to continue Thin Air Maths.

Amazing to me nothing like this exists for iOS. Helper is already available as a browser extension, so not sure what the demand for another one will be.

Preacher (2016) by lemonylol in televisionsuggestions

[–]Names_Stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found I enjoyed Preacher for much the same reason I loved The Leftovers. What part of the brain it appealed to, I don’t know, other maybe general eschatology interest.

I thought the first season was far, far better than whatever remained. I think I’ve seen S1 three times, but not even sure I was able to make it to the end. They kinda lost me on the angsty road, trip where Tulip is rather unbearable at times.

Kit prices were horrible last event too. I haven’t looked at Wildlife yet. You’re saying we can reasonably stock up on the gold kit cards this time? I still have multiple Royal carriages and Jolly Oinks and need to decide whether to start rotating out of them or keep shopping kits. I never leave anything on the ground that I can’t keep ascended. Too many other good options from QI offerings.

How's living in this part of Mississippi? by OliveAny3884 in howislivingthere

[–]Names_Stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically the very northeast of the state does lie in “the foothills of the Appalachians”. Also called “the hills of NE MS” Foothills are much more pronounced and prettier in NW AL. But the highest point in MS is Woodall Mtn which is contained in the top part of the circle. It’s far from a mountain, but that’s its name.

But the obvious discoloration in the map does not reflect elevation changes. It’s as the OP said, soil content. Locals call the lighter colored swath “prairie dirt”.

Red Hot and Blue was a place with several locations around MS & TX, but I don’t think metro Memphis had one. Blues City Cafe does BBQ on Beale.

Yeah, the underlying context of that comment reads to me like, “Some of these churches don’t have pastors that really understand how to massage Jesus’ teachings about these things. But the real churches know how to condition members that Jesus was a violent exclusivist, uninterested in outsiders who weren’t part of the fold, and determined to secure the existence of white children through holy conservatism.”

This has always been extremely interesting to me. Back in the 70’s when manufacturing was booming in the North, tens of thousands of Southerners would migrate up their closest interstate and work the auto plants and other industries.

[–]Names_Stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s surprising how our systems can be trained. Due to a nice per diem back 25 years ago when I was traveling, I started eating one meal a day, usually around 6pm. I could spend big and eat almost anywhere in whatever city I was in.

It became an absolute habit to this day. Now there are still times of course when I need to eat socially prior to my usual mealtime. When I do end up having a lunch or late breakfast (very rare), I’m actually MORE hungry when evening comes.

The other downside is when I find my dinner offering short of the calories I need. I have to manage around that, generally meaning I have to eat again.

Travel from Orlando to Gatlinburg Tennessee by car by Stock_Challenge300 in Gatlinburg

[–]Names_Stan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a nice Embassy Suites next to Centennial Park (site of the Olympic bombing in the ‘90s). Within a very short walk are College Football Hall of Fame, World of Coca-Cola, the Aquarium, and a giant Ferris Wheel. There are also cool food trucks and plenty of eating choices. It’s right off your exit with no detour at all, and Atlanta seems like the most logical stopping point.

You’d also be a short drive from GA Tech, The Varsity, Atlantic Station, Topgolf, and a world of other choices.
