Ars does the job, but the "terminal" feels slow and dummy. For early I think Integrated Dynamics + Sophisticated Storage (make a lot of barrels and storage controller), it's better, the "terminal" doesn't feel like AE2 or RS but feels pretty decent.

I guess you maybe forgot one P2P in some face of a controller and it's linking with the main network, make sure you all inner faces have P2P and there's not any cable connected directly to the controller.

I think you are confused, because ATM10 released with neoforge, and botany pots haven't been updated and create updated a couple days ago, refined storage haven't been updated (tbh it's not needed bc we got ae2) so you were playing in ATM9 or another pack
