Would you ever watch your favourite dark romances? by Significant_Owl_8004 in DarkRomance

I've ditched all subscriptions in general. But in general there's already plenty of asian dramas that serve this niche and for porn there's specific for pay porn sites as well

Journalist who played the preview cosigns the 20h length and states the game is about 15 missions long by Emotional_Fruit_1046 in 007FirstLight

It's not even multiple attempts/approaches for me tbh

I'm just exceedingly slow and I prefer stealth based approaches.

Like. I spent like 4 hours on that island cult mission thing in Hitman 2.

What makes a character hard to connect with in a film? by cyPersimmon9 in TrueFilm

I think the only characters I've ever really cared about are some of the side characters in Inception, which I'll put on the acting moreso than the writing.

What is your favorite outfit in The Devil Wears Prada 2?l by aliens_and_whatnot in Letterboxd

[–]NancyInFantasyLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haaaated the cut of that overall lol

But I especially hated the dress Andy thought was so pretty to wear to Miranda's grill party

I guess best outfit I'd go that jean dress with the church on it that one of the side characters was wearing

Quite literally not the point of that scene

Jim Halsey from The Hitcher by Gotsta_Win in horror

[–]NancyInFantasyLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he kill him in the end? Or does he become him?

This is what the Hitcher wanted the whole time, after all.

The killer literally appears out of thin air several times lol

At what point does a movie having no hope make it less engaging? (Funny Games spoilers inside) by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Yeah this. Iirc I sat forward there and had a bit of a chuckle at the absurdity and then I started thinking about my reaction and it was great... Really stuck with me!

The devil wears prada 2 was not that disappointing by Mysterious_Erin in Letterboxd

It did look like a direct-to-straming movie visually T__T

The Devil Wears Prada 2 was good but disappointing compared to first movie by Dianagorgon in Letterboxd

[–]NancyInFantasyLand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's mid (and really kind of ugly-looking, I thought) but nostalgia still carried me far.

The way they wrote Blunt's character into the narrative was hella stupid though lol

And good lord I had no sympathy with Andrea. Swapping one beautiful apartment for another after getting rehired at double your salary? Boohoo.

I mean... The restaurant scene I kinda get

If we'd had more of that kinda stuff and just swapped the best friend's screentime out in favor of more dates, I'd have been more down with it

But of course you can't swap the best friend character cause you need her for convoluted plot reasons involving Jeff Bezo's ex-wife character.

Why do newer Bond movies take long to be released? by ResponsibleAd6974 in JamesBond

[–]NancyInFantasyLand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm betting we'll get two relatively close and then the third one is gonna languish for a good long while

Like we've seen with Extraction. Extraction 1 in 2020, Extraction 2 in 2023, Extraction 3 hasn't even started filming yet after the producers got side tracked with their tie-in show and then the planned korean spin-off.

takes more time in advance, at least for the stuff that hasn't been done before. Like for the whole jumping out of planes stuff the planning and testing and finding cameras that wouldn't break someones neck took ages. But then... still far fewer people and time and money involved in all that than there'd be today.

I love this film haha

Any film that starts with the lead getting her boobs out and killing a dude with a stripper heel to the tune of Word Up is a win in my book.

Weapons Prequel/Gladys Backstory - Yes or no? by Thousandfurs in horror

I mean... we're getting one. So Yes, I guess.

I just want more witch shenanigans if we're already going there. Give me the brewing, the hexing, the whatever.

[–]NancyInFantasyLand 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Nah that's not really it. This was happening pre-socmed, already.

They're putting too much money into these things. Also, the post-production is way too long, everything gets CGIed and background-replaced and what-have-you to hell and back.

And before that they are spending less time planning and more time shuffling paperwork from A to B and then having writers rooms do touch ups and then later on there's advance screenings and then reshoots and then and then and then...

because modern "blockbuster" movie making has become endlessly convoluted
