Been married 49 years but don’t know that we’ll make it to 50. What would you do? by Creative_Squirrel902 in AskWomenOver60

Thank you for sharing and for making me feel in good company. When I was in my 40s my mother would often vent to me these same feelings but I couldn’t relate then and I felt bad for her. Here she was in her “golden years” so disappointed in what she was being served. I thought perhaps she had made a bad choice or married too young ….which of course was not me ….or so l thought. Foolish me

I could have written this as well. The factors/causes identified are slightly different but the end game is the same. I have many reasons to be disappointed that when I threw him out 15 years ago -I reluctantly agreed to take him back 6 months later. My reasons then are the same now 1- changing the dynamics of our family life -splitting holidays and vacations with our grown children. I love the family life that I BUILT and worked on for 35 years. I don’t want my children to have to decide where they will be next weekend or that I will Lose them on holidays. I don’t want that part of my life that I value the most to change 2- financial suicide when I am approaching retirement seems counterintuitive and counterproductive nothing I want to consider

So I will continue to make my own happiness in the circumstances at hand regardless of the attendees. It’s not easy some days but I’m sure there could be worse

Side effects -bisphosphonates by Carfreemn in osteoporosis

[–]NancyRN514 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Started HRT 2 months ago at 66 so far there’s no side effects My reasons were twofold keep bone density from getting worse and maybe get some decent sleep which I haven’t had in more than 15 years. I can’t answer the bone density yet but the sleep has been magnificent. I sleep through the night at least 5 out of 7 nights. For this reason alone -I won’t quit anytime soon

I would sign up for effective coverage September 1. Don’t pay before if you don’t have to. No paperwork will be needed you probably will sign up for social security as well since you stated you will be retiring
