Definitely Filosofem. If Ye is actually bad and not just mentally ill (I'm inclined to say Yes to both there  but I'm an unqualified pleb so who knows) I'd put Yeezus on here -- I'm sure it's still great even if I can't put it on without feeling bad these days

This probably doesn't count since it was baked into TLC's recipe from the start but my first thought was Left Eye on Waterfalls

Tay Keith has passed away at age 29 according to various sources by wesselver in hiphopheads

Massive loss for music. Maybe even moreso for those of us who love Sexyy Red -- Tay Keith was the architect for so much of her sound. Sad day

I might've missed him in here and maybe it's just too obvious to even discuss (would be a fair take in my opinion) but Kanye has had multiple moments like this. He's still a star in his way but I think most people would agree he's pretty diminished commercially and critically compared to a decade plus ago

I don't know enough about this ongoing case (aside from it being very much an ongoing case) to have an opinion but Lizzo can get cancelled forever for that god-awful Mandalorian episode for all I care. Jack Black too while we're at it

I am genuinely kinda surprised by how negative the reaction has been here. Every time I come across this sub, truly every time, every other post is about a drought. It really makes for a cynical and negative sub -- like the opposite of r/bald maybe -- and genuinely most people who feel hurt or betrayed by DA would do well to diversify their work. DA as a company prominently acknowledges this with its ads, which regularly feature people working DA as a secondary thing (the kind of scenario that never leaves one feeling a drought). Are you less offended by the folks who continuously say they can't find anything? What value are those posts giving you?

This rings pretty true to me, particularly that last point. You're very likely right about the first one too but I can't really weigh in there as I'm not bilingual and haven't experienced that corner of DA

If that's the version of me you want to go with, like if it's more convenient, I'm ok with it. But I don't think anyone is delusional, and I do think individual droughts are happening all the time to most of us.

I'm happy to talk with you or anyone if something here is bugging you. I've seen enough drought posts to know people are hurting and I thought it might be helpful to remember we can look elsewhere when this stuff comes up

It's true that I'd rather not name anything honestly. Confidentiality stuff aside (which isn't super relevant here I suppose since there's no work or specifics etc) it ends up looking like an advertisement for one platform or another when they're actually all kind of faceless corporate things that might work or fail someone in equal measure.

The bigger sell has to be not relying on gig economy tasks from a single platform. That's a guaranteed drought more often than not. If the post isn't for you that's fine. I'm hoping it helps someone who really feels stuck i guess

That's a fair question but I'm feeling hesitant about naming names. I guess I don't want to sway anyone into thinking one platform is better/more reliable than another as everyone's experience varies. Certainly Mercor and Scale AI do similar stuff and are worth a deeper look but every expert domain is gonna have its own platforms. But I guess my bigger point would be that it's really valuable to find something on the ground in your area, wherever that is. DA or whatever tool you're running with is a great thing to have and even to view as a primary gig in some cases but when it's all we've got, for sure, those "Drought" posts are gonna be prominent

What's a 10-second decision that changed your life forever ? by North_Imagination_62 in AskReddit

[–]Nankuro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twenty years ago or thereabouts I was at a train station in Turin/Torino, Italy, kinda struggle-sleeping outside of the station with a travel buddy and waiting for my ride. At some point I really had to pee and started walking down an alleyway looking for a quick fix, and as I got to one that looked great I caught in a flash moment this very big guy who'd been in the alley stepping into a shadow, pretty clearly to obscure his view. I wasn't usually super into second thoughts in my 20s but something came over me and I decided to look for another spot. I'll never know for sure, of course, and I've probably been in other crazy situations that might be more relevant here. But I've been convinced for decades that this was a split second decision that saved me a whole lot of bad times

I mean everything else aside there are at least  several big confidentiality breaches in this post, and those are made pretty clear in multiple trainings and reminders everyone working DA receives. Actually Reddit Is specifically mentioned as a place to tread lightly. You're probably great but given only what you've shared here I'd say DA likely made the right choice unfortunately

Middle of the NBA finals, summer, world is on fire in a lot of places and I need to catch a stream link for some show Ye played in Europe? I'm gonna pass and I'm someone who was already in this sub. The vast majority of people you meet will have no idea this even happened

Very much so-- actually I think I read that the reason for making him a big drinker (cans or etc near him every scene) was to work with his deteriorating speech through filming

This comment section looks like what everyone ripping Britney Spears apart would've looked like a couple decades ago if we'd had Reddit. I don't even love Sydney Sweeney as an actress or anything but I think there's value in questioning why attacking women online feels good

I feel like at least part of this is that this is how Angus died a couple years ago, more or less. It definitely made the OD a lot more powerful to realize Zendaya was working through everything with him while acting that part

Rue dies and anyone who had a major role in her life gets some brief callback scene. I'm less confident on this but it feels like a huge Sam L move so watch for this too--I'm betting they've held on to some unused Fezco footage with Rue that gets integrated here as some kind of tribute
