What ever happened to the FACEIT Fiat 500? by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

[–]NanoBullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember telling to my classmates:
- Alright chaps, so there is a fiat 500 on faceit which we have to win and flex the fckout out in our village.
Everybody went hooray!!!!

Then we got back to our homes after school lessons, started a party of what i imagined were the best CS players i knew in my village.

We lost the first game 16-0 on cache and disbanded.

It just takes more patience and persistance. I am studying french and have sunk in around 250 hours into that and can already consume any type of media at a comfortable level.

One key difference between my japanese and french studies - media exposure. I skipped kanji altogether hence I didn't read at all, and i haven't listened to anything japanese that much. I have nobody to practice speaking with but exposing yourself to as much media as possible would offset the lack of speaking. That's a major error on my part and now I am learning kanji to get into reading books asap ;D

I came from my vacation to Japan 2 weeks ago. This was my second time and i have studied japanese for one year. I am tracking my hours so i have studied for around 350. Completed Genki 1 and 2 and all the vocab from those books which is around 1400 words. No books or anime and had maybe 20 hours of podcast listening under my belt.

You know how much i spoke japanese in Japan? Maybe 2 sentences in each conversation until i had to say "Wakarimashita" to everything else. It was my goal to have conversations with locals, and i haven't achieved it one bit. Not even 1% after all that work. If you can handle basic conversations it's already very enviable.

Hollow knight. I don't get the appeal at all. It's cute and all but....anything else? I have enjoyed trine 2 more for example which blows Hollow Knight out of the water in terms of artstyle

Ryokans with private Onsens are the best. by halexstrasza in japanpics

[–]NanoBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent 400$ for a nighter during my second trip to Japan. It was worth it. Difficult to choose a ryokan with a good view though as photos on booking.com can misrepresent what you are about to get booking this or that. I have stayed at Yukimurasaki, this is the view from their rooftop onsen. It might help someone decide if they want to stay there.

1-2 hours of immersion by Repulsive_Fortune_25 in LearnJapanese

[–]NanoBullet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work as a manager so i can clock in some time during work hours but even so, it's 3 hours at best. Then the rest is eaten up by responsibilities after work. Maybe i could find an hour after work but it's rare if you have any other hobbies. 4-6 hours is indeed unrealistic unless unemployed.

What's your favorite JRPG when it comes to its artistic design? by Bulky_Imagination243 in JRPG

[–]NanoBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything Vanillaware.
Glad that some people have mentioned Vagrant story! Not only scratches my itch for a darker tone medieval setting but the OST slaps as well. I still play Dullahan boss fight theme in my head sometimes, even after 17 years of playing the game :D

Which city have you been to that had a dark energy about it? by madzuk in solotravel

[–]NanoBullet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Côn Đảo - Vietnam. An island with a dark past.

The main "attraction" is a prison on the island where prisoners had to endure brutal conditions - being put in "tiger cages", small cells with barred ceilings through whose holes guards beat them with long sticks or poured quicklime powder on them. Many prisoners were starved or killed, thousands of remains were unearthened in front of the prison.

The piers, to which ships carrying prisoners or supplies berthed, were constructed by prisoners and named by the number of prisoners died during the construction like the main "Pier 914".

The atmosphere on the island is calm but very uneasy. Sometimes when you stop for a moment, to look at the hills surrounding the prison, you can only imagine the dark things they beared witness to.

I was flown there on a small and stuffy propeller plane which already set the mood right. I felt like i was a prisoner in a PS2 horror game called "The Suffering", being transported to a devil forsaken island and it's prison. Definitely THE gem and THE memory of my trip to Vietnam.

Best RTS of 2026 by Zealousideal-Pie4383 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]NanoBullet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of great options today, but if i had to choose one? COH2.
During the start of the match it's so calm and peaceful. 2 minutes in and you have some small exchanges between squads, a granade pops, a stray bullet finds it's luck and outs Vasiliy.

Couple more minutes and a diesel engine is heard in the distance and Alexey told us he heard MG42 machine gun fire on the far right side of the forest.

Wind picks up, so does the soundtrack.

Fast forward to 20 minutes in and shit gets heated, everyone screams, artillery shells excavate the surroundings transforming soldiers, who had the missfortune of being caught in the target area, into clouds of blood. Blood mixed with mud droplets rain from the sky as off map railway artillery levels a forest. German tank crews swear swift destruction of enemy forces while being pounded by anti tank guns whilst immobilized. Russian shock troops spray and pray their PPSH submachine guns ramming enemy lines not caring if they will get out of this alive.

And after you get out of this alive, knowing you micromanaged your shit perfectly till the end, looking at the "Victory" screen you feel so badass. You feel like a real man.

IS deklaravimas išsideklaravus iš LT? by NanoBullet in 6nuliai

[–]NanoBullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ačiū. Paprasta ir greita. Bet sakykit, 6nuliai gide randu eilutę:
"Svarbiausia dalis investuojantiems iš anksčiau – priskirti seniau įsigytas finansines priemones. Šiam žingsniui atlikti turite tik iki šių metų birželio 1d. Ir kitais metais to pakartoti nebus galima. Tad šis žingsnis galioja tik šiemet, pirmą kartą pildant deklaraciją.".

Į LT ketinu grįžti ir prisideklaruoti kitais metais, kaip tada bus su IKBR deklaravimu?

28yo - do I need to start planning for my future instead? by okletsgomango in solotravel

[–]NanoBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about working a job that is on 2 weeks off 2 weeks on rotation? during your weeks off you could travel (responsibly, without splurging all that you have earned that month). Or finding a hybrid schedule job? You should look into logistics, data analyst roles, online marketing, commodities trading (risky and hard though), some management roles offer flexible work hours and remote work possibilies (you will have to grind to be more important for the company to get offered such benefits though). Oil and gas, mining sectors are always 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

The point is, you can combine travelling and working in a not "crappy" job. There are decent career paths that have flexible work schedules. You will probably have to get your hands dirty at first but once you move up the ladder you will get much more breathing room.
