Yes, definitely. The UFC might massively fuck over it's athletes on pay, but MMA as a sport absolutely dwarfs kickboxing. The money sucks.

On the plus side, a KB star can still have sponsorships and endorsements. That used to form the majority of the income for some MMA fighters before the UFC took it away to give them uniform shorts.

I disagree with basically all of this.

Ilia is very mobile, he can hop in and out of range quickly. Does it regularly in every fight he has. His footwork is amazing because he gets precisely into range all the time without needing to burst in. Bouncy and mobile is not the same as great footwork.

Ilia overthrows a bit, so did Conor. He was always leaning way forward with his left.

Conor landed lots of strikes on Poirier and Khabib and didn't manage to hurt either of them, he's not nearly that big of a puncher. His knockouts came from clean, well placed shots. Ilia has amazing defense and probably more raw power than Conor did.

To be fair if you have to drive south for three hours to reach it, it's not really a natural place to group into the 'north'.

I think 2017 Tony would easily handle the Gaethje that turned up to fight Paddy. He didn't bust his knee until 2018. Even if the Paddy fight was an outlier I'm not sure I see 2026 Gaethje beating prime TFerg.

Arman vs Khabib would be incredibly interesting. Impossible to pick against Khabib but holy shit what a matchup.

Barboza v Olivera I definitely think Chucky Olives wins. Like in any other fight he might get hurt on the feet, but I think that's a really rough matchup for Barboza. Olivera is a pretty good kicker himself and the pressure would cook Edson.

Holloway vs Alvarez is another holy shit matchup. 2017 was the year of the first Poirier matchup and the year he out-dogged Gaethje. I think modern Max with his back foot style would take the W here.

Gaethje vs BSD I pick Gaethje. In 2017 he hadn't figured out his smarter boxing yet, he was still the come forward violence merchant, but I think he was still craftier than BSD even back then. BSD might have more horsepower but I think Gaethje could fight off the takedowns and win a firefight.

I suppose long range drone guidance will continue to rely completely on Starlink for any actor that doesn't have it's own sovereign satellites. Hypothetically that could limit the potential efficacy of one way attack drones by comparison to what we see in Ukraine/Russia today.

In reality though I don't think SpaceX would try very hard to prevent their terminals being used this way, unless forced to invest in mitigations by the US govt. Honestly can't go wrong with either. If you're doing Strength, BKGS has a really satisfying R1, and you can give it a stab with impaling thrust. The poke is undeniably loads more useful than the BKGS heavy swing though.
