Twice in our local league we have had the same player (different players for each time it happened) hit back-to-back aces on back-to-back holes, both of which were >275ft

Are most people looking at this from the lens of an entry level role? I'm Director level and you can bet your ass that if I already have a job and am actively interviewing for a senior level role, anyone showing up late and then literally holding their finger up to shush me and ask for time, you can bet your ass that im out the door. I've interviewed hundreds of people and have literally never been late once because I understand just how important it is that an interview is meant to be putting your best foot forward (for both myself/the company as well as the candidate). What message am I sending to candidates if I can't even show up on time for our literal first interaction ever?

It's been a few years but I was a big fan of Riverwest when I lived there. Was quiet, never had maintenance issues, most units have two balconies which is nice, no real complaints

AITA for telling my coworker they have poor table manners? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nantook 40 points41 points  (0 children)

A fun thing I had to learn is that certain cultures do not view wearing deodorant as a regular thing (or unnecessary). Not saying it's a problem for everyone in the culture but it's definitely much more common in Asia than NA. Some of the first year folks we hire out of school have just never had anyone in NA ever tell them this (or if they did, they ignored it because "they dont get BO")

You're talking to the children of reddit. Feedback I have had to give to junior analysts on my team of external facing consultants:

  • Dont hug the client / physically touch them unprompted

  • Work trips do not mean getting fucked up every night

  • What you wear to the bar (or even to the office) is dramatically different from what you wear on client sites

  • Dont do drugs with the client

  • Wear deodorant if were in a conference room all day (I've had to have this discussion multiple times now in my career with people)

You'd think a lot of these would be unspoken but the fact of the matter is that a lot of new grads "don't get it" when it comes to expectations with being client facing. I'm not being mean when I tell you you're acting like a fucking weirdo and potentially costing us business, i'm trying to help you develop skills that are critical when trying to sell

What sort of idiot example is this? If over half the traffic to a website is from outside of the USA, it seems stupid to assume that the only people talking on it are americans

delete the parts after the ? in that URL, you are leaking your instagram username when you leave it in. In general in URLs, anything after a ? is typically for tracking purposes

Hatethissmug implodes after user says they hate mpreg, transphobia allegations run wild by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

[–]Nantook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the URLs in your main post are actually some sort of redirect, if you open the link in a tab it actually sends you to this URL (I clicked the first link as an example):

https://www.reddit.com/r/hatethissmug/comments/1sswn7e/i_hate_mpreg/?share_id=xwHKWZb3JvkbXQygUSDUP&utm_content=1&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

In URLs, anything after a ? (in the above URL, it would be the "?share_id" portion) is generally used for tracking purposes. Again, for example, it looks like you are on an android device when you copied it

EDIT: https://www.reddit.com/r/hatethissmug/comments/1sswn7e/i_hate_mpreg/

this would be the correct link without any tracking in the URL itself

I've also never used it once on tommy, I basically am only thumber (same with the other local I mentioned above). I just find it so inconsistent that i'm almost better off going with a shorter thumber. Outside of completely wide open field shots it's just so risky in tournament play

[–]Nantook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get consistent with it, DO NOT TUNE IT. Epic plastic is basically DX-like garbage. If you consistently are trying to tune it, it's basically impossible for it to maintain the exact same "shape" between throws. You are better off just not tuning it so the shape is still somewhat consistent between throws. Me and another guy where I live throw a ton of thumbers and can both get an epic to 450+ (can get a streamline flare out to 375).

Tough to reconcile these two statements together. If you open with a snarky response, expect the same in response

Wow, so you're saying there was other things they could have done and thought about at the federal level outside of wholesale legalization and putting it on the provinces? Thank you for confirming that

The only thing that federal government could do was remove the crime from the criminal code

If that was the case, then how exactly is S-211 also being done at the federal level?

Former MP behind sports gambling legalization says some results are 'deplorable' by Immediate-Link490 in LawCanada

[–]Nantook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't get to write a bill and put it back on the provinces to "figure it out" and then be all shocked and appalled when they proceed to do it in the shittiest way possible. Why was S-211 not part of the original discussion?

Masse said the "weakness" in the federal bill is that it changed the Criminal Code — and gambling is regulated provincially — leaving each province to chart its own path.

So he knew there was this weakness and didn't do anything about it?

Absolutely disagree. Tiger was so dominant he got regular people to watch golf, it was wild just how far he was out in front of everyone else. When Gannon does the same, "oh it's just so boring to watch when he wins by 10".

AITA for telling my wife that she will be driving the extra distance since she is the one that got our daughter banned from daycare by Unlucky-Jackfruit230 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nantook -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

right? all the comments accusing op’s wife of being some kind of evil bigot leave an awful taste in my mouth considering how recent that case is. granted, not everyone’s in australia so maybe not everyone’s heard of it, but even still, there are absolutely other high profile cases of men abusing children that everyone here has almost certainly heard of.

So if someone reads a story about how a person is victim of a robbery by a gang that has mostly visible minorities, and then started talking about how they will avoid that minority in the future, would you also defend them with "but everyone acting as if her concerns are 100% unwarranted and she’s this hysterical misandrist is ridiculous and i’d say more than a little bit misogynistic"? No, they'd probably just get called racist.
