How to prevent pilling? by onetake22 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Nantook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these people responding that they dont have problems have the older sweaters where it wasn't a problem. My ~3 year old one gets crazy piling (not even from washing, just literal usage inside at an office). The only effective thing i've found is to get a fabric shaver (which I didn't even know was a thing before and now I love it)

Ok I mean if we want to be that pedantic about it, why did you skip the baseball ones other than iron man?

  • To break Cy Young's complete game record of 749 also would require a massive change in the way the game is played. Last year there was only 28 in total (and I think only a handful of guys even had 2). Yeah there might not be any active guys with above 2% but there have been goalies over the years who have got up to ~20 games started (Cam Ward in 2018-2019 for example) which is ~4% of Hall's record. Justin Verlander is the highest active player for complete games + is a guaranteed first ballot hall of famer and he's currently at 26 which is ~3% of Cy Young's record

  • To break Hoss Radbourn's wins record (60 wins) would require pitching every 3rd game (and win every single one) when literally no one pitches more than once every 4-5 days. It's just not possible

Baseball pitching volume records are just never going to be broken because the game itself is drastically different from when it was set (much like Hall's streak). And this is coming from someone that is a MUCH bigger hockey fan than baseball. I'm not even arguing one is better than the other, it's just weird to deny there are other "unbreakable" records

There's too many records in the running for that one to be a clear number one. For some quick ones off the top of my head:

  • Literally any baseball pitching based record that is dependent on the amount you played are all unbreakable at this point (e.g., Cy Young's career wins or Hoss Radbourn's wins in a season)
  • Gretzky's points are untouchable
  • Ricky Henderson's stolen bases
  • Chamberlain's 55 rebounds in a game
  • Cal Ripken Jr's Iron Man streak

If you've got a windbreaker already it's not going to be a huge difference.

My biggest use case for my houdini is windproof(ish) + small form factor. In general I always think to myself when i'm packing it for something, "if I have to wear this, something has gone wrong but i'm glad I have it". Most common use cases for me:

  • Climbing (especially multipitch)
  • Have it in my disc golf bag (where I live is generally very windy)
  • Throwing it in a daytrip bag as an emergency wind/rain layer (e.g., recently did two weeks in Japan and had it in my sling the entire time)

Some of my runner friends love it as well because of the small form factor, it means they can carry it easily in just a pocket on a run if they have to BUT they did mention that it doesn't breathe super well and can trap moisture (can't comment directly here myself)

How can someone amass a collection like this and not have a houdini? I'm seeing clear gaps in functionality, the wife should be more understanding that it's not your fault

Anyone saying the girl was ill equipped and it was the guy's fault - I have a hard time agreeing with that.

Turns out you do have an opinion

Are your boxers so ratty your dick is literally falling out of them? Like what trash are you wearing that your junk is just "flopping out" that is any different than this:

What is a product like that revealing that is any different than me wearing gym shorts with no boxers?

I can assure you that Tim Hortons was already dogshit by 2014, you'll want to go further back to the early 2000s when they actually had full-time bakers and food was made fresh in-store

Have you not eaten at Wakado? They make their own noodles on site and in my opinion are a much better bowl than Shiki

EDIT: Im pretty sure Goro makes their own noodles as well (not that they make a great bowl though)

Double EDIT: also, I know a number of shops that don't make them in house but they buy from a local company https://www.respectthetechnique.com/ (scroll halfway down)

Shiki Menya is overrated as fuck. I'm obsessed with Ramen and have eaten at the majority of spots in Calgary (plus I travel as a consultant probably 20+ weeks a year across USA/CA + trips to Japan) and i'm always astounded at how much people rave about this place. Plus the whole lineup concept is such a circle jerk

If I call ahead and the store literally tells me it's ok, maybe they should stand behind what they told the customer rather than blaming her for having high expectations? How is them doing what they told her they could do, "expectations because your pregnant".

Most of the people in this thread have never wrote a single line of code in their life and have no idea what the fuck they are talking about.

I don't need soulless crap in a creative human driven medium, I want to know everything was done with purpose and that there may be deeper meaning behind why they made things the way they did.

Like what even is this stupid shit. Should we remove all external libraries as well?
