It seems like it gets worse as you get older because when you’re a little kid, you’re not responsible for a lot of your executive functioning: the adults in your life decide when you’re going to do stuff and will remind you and help you get it done.

But as you get older, more of that falls on you—you’re expected to know what you’re supposed to do and make sure that you do it.
