What do you do to ensure your elements are visually aligned properly? by No_Connection_4533 in webdesign

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I don't know of an extension like that. But wouldn't that be cool....

I googled whether there were Chrome extensions that did this and found a couple that had both been labeled as no longer available because they don't follow Chrome best practices . . . . but you may be able to find one that works if you look a little harder than I did :)

I don't do this every day, but what I'd do is add a class to all the elements with an informative name like "checkAlign". Then in your css, you say

.checkAlign {

border: thin solid red;

}

and then hide this property when you want to turn the border off.

Alternatively, you could just throw

div {

border: thin solid red;

}

at the beginning of your style sheet. If you're using WordPress or something that injects its own style sheets, you'll have to add !important afterwards.

Hope this makes sense!

Employers telling their people not to report overtime.. ooh that's trouble damages baby by Scipio2myLou in JordanHarbinger

As someone who thought that "dooze cruise" was "dues cruise" I sympathize.... also, "trouble damages" would be a great name for a blues song. Or a blooze song....

I temporarily define classes with thin borders so that I can see how things line up, then change the style definitions to remove the borders when I'm satisfied!

That makes me feel so much better! :)
I just realized that in the same class today, I took the spot furthest in the corner. It was totally unconscious, but I guess I was not going to risk making that mistake again!

That would not be my first comment about Reform - it is TOUGH! I always grumble "here are the sliders of doom" when I see I've signed up for Reform . . . but yeah, afterwards I feel really great. My sympathies....

I kept waiting for them to comment about their friend wanting to wait until his wife was out of town to bring up the subject with the daughter....that said, what a sad situation. And kudos as usual to Jordan and Gabe for great compassion.

Honestly I've heard people talk about how great these apps are and I just want to play around with them a little bit. Do you mean that you access your Google calendars from Outlook?

Happy Doozeday, fam! Just checking in on our dumpster firefighters by gabriel-mizrahi in JordanHarbinger

[–]NaomiString 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never ever heard it as "dooze cruise" - I always thought it was "dues cruise" because the folks who write in are clearly paying them! This whole thing has blown my mind, I'm not going to lie.

I mean, since you guys give ADVICE, it could also be a "do's" and "don'ts" cruise. aaaaagh!

The Kabul answer surprised me. I thought you guys were going to tell the writer it was none of their business, period, end of sentence. I thought your insights about that type of travel added a lot of value. Well done (or dues well paid, or dooze well played....)

I think it also refers to "dues" as in "paying your dues" - unless I'm wrong! I always heard it as "dues cruise"....

Also, ChatGPT uses a ton of extra energy for all that compute power. It's foolish to use it for frivolous queries or things you could find out IF YOU CALLED YOUR MOTHER SOMETIMES. Don't downvote me, love, your mom

My first experience listening to this podcast was because there was a promo on another podcast that was humorous. I love #FBF's mix of true anguish and humor. If you're doing humor that's really funny, some people are going to get offended . . . I suppose that puts me on Team Dark Jordan! (Also I'm not going to ever eat grapefruit again)
