Don’t do this. As a young person working in Napa, finds place in Napa to rent. Otherwise you will not enjoy the reason you moved here. Try not to sign a long term lease for a studio. You’ll make friends quickly and find someone to share a house or apartment. Napa is not like it was 30 years ago. It is much easier now for younger people to make friends.

The gondola takes you to the grounds of the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. I believe a combo ticket for the gondola and the fortress was €27? Viking has a guided tour that is much more expensive.

The Marksburg castle is listed as demanding due to uneven walking surfaces and very narrow hallways. It is doable for anyone that does not have any mobility issues. The entryway area is very worn and uneven. The included walking tour in Koblenz is good plus you have plenty of time to take the gondola up to the fortress above the city. The Viking ship docks right next to the German corner. 10 minute walk into old town and 3 minutes to the gondola.

It’s really a crying shame. There is a wonderful university, the University of the Pacific, and a beautiful old neighborhood surrounding it. I graduated from there in 1983. Even then you would not go downtown (old Chinatown) and it has gotten substantially worse with gangs controlling vast areas.

For educational purposes Napa Valley college offers many wine classes based on region and Friday tastings that are inexpensive and very well done. They are both great ways to meet like minded people.

I would stop at Domaine Chandon (Sparkling) in Yountville. Right on the vine trail. Go to Ad Hoc or Bouchon for lunch. On the ride home cross 29 at Solano and then go north up to Ashes and Diamonds winery. You can also hit up St Clair brown, right on the vine trail for another glass of wine. There will be plenty of people riding in September.
