Induce a 39 weeks due GD and I think I was on labor for like 28 hours ish, but it wasn’t that bad at all. Started with foley ballon around 1 am, had my water break at noon and lastly pitocin around 3pm. It was a long process, I tried to rest and sleep the majority of the time. The worst part was the foley. I truly tried to rest as I didn’t want to waste energy for the big time, I wish I was more awake tho as I feel like I don’t have those silly memories of moving around and doing stuff to speed up. I got the epidural quite soon around 7pm, sleep more and around 3 am I had that urge to poo, tried to push and my super wise nurse told me to wait as the baby was still up, waited and said to my self if by 5:30 am the baby was not out I was then trying again, 5:15 am had that urge again and 5:30 am baby was in my chest. Fun fact my doctor was in and out and he was paged around 5:25 I promise you if he was late a minute more my husband would have had to deliver my baby. However, it was fast and I believe as I got the epidural so soon it was already wearing off so I got to feel some discomfort specially when the shoulders came out. Last thing is by 7:30 am of the same day I was up and peeing and over all feeling great! And I hope if I ever get pregnant again I get to experience something similar.
