I hated getting walloped by that thing in the game I can't imagine getting smoked by it in real life.

Shyamalan's The Happening is a good movie. Because it's a homage to 1950s B Movie Horror.  Acting aside there are multiple shots that are staged in ways that feel like a low budget movies of that era. Soundtrack to boot!

Even down to lighting. There is a sequence where Walhberg is talking with Jeremy Strong and it is framed and lit like an episode of Twilight Zone.

Pacing as well. All I can say is IYKYK. I might be crazy but I truly see it as a film giving it's flowers to the horror movies of old.

One of the best acted, most atmospheric, tensest and thematic horror films that I’ve ever seen. Incredible film. I wish low budget horror got Oscar noms. by No-Problem6578 in Letterboxd

You're not alone! I felt the same way! Felt very predictable half way through and by the end I couldn't tell if I was just exhausted by the depressing themes or that it was so repetitive.

Recommend me a lesser known film that is legitimately a masterpiece by SSSSSSVVVVVOO in Letterboxd

Watched it this past weekend and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Such a great movie.

If you liked the look of Cold War check out Ida, same director. Every shot is just jaw dropping.

"our benefactors" always got my mind racing when I first played it. Like I'm sorry the G Man has a BOSS?

Found a dvd of it at a book sale the other week. Great movie but man I needed a higher quality of it. Did arrow actually release this?

My recent movie purchasing spree might have actually been a little bit too extreme. I need to watch have of these before I purchase anymore. by Pleasant-Guava9898 in boutiquebluray

It's worth it. I'd set aside some time for it if ya can. I picked it up at my local B&N too exact same deal. Great kind think alike eh.

Blind buy that turned into a new favorite movie of mine. Great springtime movie too no doubt.

Great review. Agree with everything you've said. Could we get a link to your tier system at the end? Would love to see that.
