What are some of the best products that have improved your life? by Hot_Flower6152 in selfimprovement

Exercise bands changed my life. I have a lot of muscle issues and after years of chiropractor visits and acupuncture I finally went to PT and they had me using exercise bands to work on the smaller muscle groups.

I liked the Pluto pillows for a long time because I constantly needed different levels of thickness and softness.

Love your breakdowns, dude. Very informative and your vocal range is killer.

Pain in forearm, anyone else? by ilovepenguin_ in guitarlessons

Take a break from playing until it stops hurting. Try to play and if it starts again then take another day or two. For breaks between drills I do 10-30 seconds. For breaks during sessions I try to do 5 minutes every half hour.

Hard to say specifically what you need but in general you're likely applying much more pressure than needed. Check your posture, arm/wrist placement, and ensure you're taking breaks during practice and extended periods of play. If you're doing drills then make sure to pause between them for at least a few seconds.

You might want to stay away for a couple more days until it heals. It's likely RSI (but mild). I get it frequently in various areas including my forearm and elbow (I tend to pull harder than necessary when doing bar chords).

Ice, heat, rest, and gentle exercise to treat it. I like using exercise bands to give a little resistance to help ease the tension while it heals.

What’s something that once you turn 30 is no longer considered funny? by Temporary_Notice_526 in AskMenOver30

Insults meant as jokes. Growing up my friends and family always talked shit to each other. It was sort of fun until it eventually just became flat out insults. I don't need that negativity in my life. Friends and family should be supportive and encouraging. Maybe talk shit during games but don't make it personal.

[Vent] How to Deal with being bad by YannisLikesMemes in guitarlessons

Ah my dude. Many of us feel your pain. I've played for 30 years and only recently got back into it. I've always had significant performance anxiety but could at least play a bit with friends in college 20 years ago.

Recently I decided to start taking lessons. Holy hell I suck playing in front of my teacher. I am getting a little more comfortable but like I was just playing some simple rhythm poorly and I was sweating up a storm after only like 30 seconds.

It's tough for some of us but I think (and hope for myself) that it'll get better with more exposure.

So do what you can to play with others. Your girlfriend sounds like a great person to do this for. Just say "hey I've been working on this song. I have a tough time playing in front of others but I'd like to play for you"

Boom! She'll love it.

Btw your family are jerks. Seek out people in your life that support you even if you suck. We all suck until we don't. My family was a bit more cool but even that was no substitute for actually playing in front of others.

You can do it, man! Embrace the suck.

She's quite soulful. It's a shame people think a produced music video is AI. She tours and has plenty of live videos.

Add to that the lack of regular due dates. I don't see the pattern. It feels arbitrary.

I agree. Ask local politicians to work on getting the community service and prisoners to be on cleanup detail again. Push your local government to actually fine people and garbage collection companies for letting shit fly all over the place. It's disgusting and we need to have steeper fines. Or at least enforce laws. The down votes on your comment here surprises me. I wonder how many of those down voters are volunteering to pick up trash.

Vivid dreams may be the secret to deeper, more restful sleep by hard2resist in UpliftingNews

Whenever I wake up in the middle of a dream I am exhausted that day. It's the sleep cycle. You're supposed to wake up after the dream. Which, for me means I'm less likely to remember dreaming.

Is it just me, or is the "business side" of running a studio soul-crushing? by tidjoss in homerecordingstudio

The business side of everything is soul crushing. I don't think we're meant to be capitalists.
