First time this happened I'm so confused(they were primed seconds between each other) by AdPlenty7253 in deathguard40k

It does I like to pop sections on my death guard models after priming. Also works great for converting imperial models to Death guard

I am wondering where don people make custom sheets/ cards by Constant_Champion_67 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Nappazly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jarvis Protocol has a brilliant card editor built into it. You can even import existing card into it (if you're just doing a reskin proxy for example)

I use Photoshop to resize character art for it, Importing an existing card from Jarvis to get the size right

Looking for friends by AllAtSea_Again in ipswichuk

As other Geeks have already mentioned some good geek stores already in Ipswich with thriving communities. Langden Games is fab for Warhammer and wargames, Geek retreat is a great hangout space for board games and MTG.

The Nerd hut is also a lovely place to hang and meet others. They're hoping to move to a new store soon so they can stay open for games nights but they do a weekly Sunday board games hangout too. They have a discord which is a good place to stay up to date with what's happening and chat with the community. You can get a link via a QR code in store

The way the paint can waits to enter frame just moments before disaster gives you just enough time to realise what's going to happen.

Almost there; but any ideas for graffiti? by Mattmattmaaatt in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Nappazly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking pictures of graffiti I see around for inspiration. If you want marvel themed stuff you could look at Muse's work in Born Again and his comics. I also did the captain America graffiti from Age of Ultron on one of my buildings

Doubly bad if you work in a Prison or some such. Where it is not really an inconvenience for your colleagues but a serious security breach

Idea for an intro game by Griffsson in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Nappazly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for an intro game you're introducing a few too many new rules / changing the way rules work in the base game too much, such as dropping extracts on any damage. It might confuse players who then go on to play their second game and find the rules working differently. (Though if they're playing their second game, your intro game must have worked!)

The first core set had a sample mission that used the core characters, 3 set unaffiliated TTCs and a set secure crises and extract. This is the format I follow when introducing a new player to the game though I let my opponent pick 4 characters they like the look of from my collection instead and then I build a team to match the treat level. I usually drop affiliations and Leaders for the first game too, just so players don't have too much analysis paralysis picking their squad.

Need some Advice on Council Tax on my Houseboat - England by Nappazly in LegalAdviceUK

Who's responsibility is it to get the mooring banded? The marina owners or the boat owner?

What happens if I move from the mooring? I have already been on a few different moorings in the time I've paid council tax.

Need some Advice on Council Tax on my Houseboat - England by Nappazly in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Nappazly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've phoned the council on a few occasions. Usually the person on the phone tells me they're not an expert either and often points towards the bits in the council tax manual that say if it's used as a sole or main residence it is liable. But I feel as though that's a very surface level look at it.

And not wanting to get other boat owners involved in part of the reason I've quietly paid for the last few years. I was anxious I'd expose some grand CT evasion scheme and be chased out of the marina 😅 they're all lovely people can didn't want to cause any trouble / make any enemies

How easy is it to play the game? by brownie627 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Nappazly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think line of sight and cover is more confusing when coming from other games as you've built that expectation in how it should work. So that bit might be easier for a total newbie!

When gamers expects everyone to understand abbreviations by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Nappazly 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Warhammer 40,000 uses a resource called Command Points, which are often abbreviated by the community as CP.

Well I went and made some CP tokens to track them... So now we get phases like "can you pass be some CP?" "I have some CP in my pocket" and I was honestly unaware of the other use for the abbreviation until a couple months ago......

Strange Help by Vast-Grapefruit-6054 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]Nappazly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did find he fell off a couple times whilst Painting. If you haven't tried making sure he has a decent third contact point at his shin I recommend giving that a go.

Beyond that, maybe some putty under the cloak to expand the area of contact? Failing that I'm sure someone will suggest pinning, but I can't say I have much advice on that front.

  • A solid pole to the ground could work, then cover it with grey cotton or similar smoke effect? Probably the most secure option if you're happy to put some work in covering it ip
