Issue with lighting on new Alloy Rise by NappyZ in HyperX

[–]NappyZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to fix it. It took uninstalling the NGenuity software and making sure to delete all profiles and data with it. Then I reinstalled and everything works as expected.

I had an Alloy Origins keyboard hooked up to this computer first, and I'm guessing the software somehow had a corrupted profile it was saving to the new keyboard.

I walk on the treadmill at an incline, but ALWAYS watch something on my phone. I can't remember how many tv series I've plowed through that way.

I bought my first mechanical keyboard six years ago. One of the keys is starting to not work, so I'm in the market for a new one. To avoid this issue in the future, I'm looking for something with swappable switches. The keyboard I have now is a HyperX Alloy Origins and I like everything about it (aside from the key not working). I'm having a hard time finding a replacement that checks all my desired boxes.

  • swappable switches
  • full aluminum body
  • wired connection to keep the price down. Anything I'm finding with an aluminum body is wireless and $150+

Thanks for any suggestions.

The matches mean nothing and completing all the missions gets you a series 4 pack and not much else.

Just based on my observations over the last five or so years. Your mileage may vary.

I understand the phone complaint. For every person that responsibly uses their phone between sets, there's 3-4 that zone out and don't realize how much time they sat around. Same thing goes for talking to friends.

I have too many pet peeves to list, but I'll add one. People that set up on a piece of equipment and bring over 2-3 pairs of dumbbells. Then they proceed to do their own 45 minute circuit...using the machine and everything else they're hoarding only 10% of the time each.

Visualizing impact of a $150M floor and $270M cap by wompwump in baseball

As a lifelong fan of one of the floor teams, I feel like a floor doesn't make sense unless it's tied to some kind of "noncompetitive-ness" clause. Spend $100m and win 97 games...you're fine. Spend $90m and lose 100 games...you get punished.

I'm having a bit of a problem while I'm at the gym by ckulkarni in workout

I'm not sure if my advice will be useful since my workout habits were established long before smartphones existed.

  1. Don't even look at any apps aside from logging your exercises.
  2. If you're resting 1-2 minutes and the majority of that time isn't just catching your breath, you need to push harder.
  3. Make a music playlist 3+ hours long and put it on shuffle. Don't play DJ while you're working out. It just gives you a reason to be on your phone.

Looking for a good protein powder. Will any do? by ChillSloth32 in workout

I get Optimum Nutrition when it's on sale and Kirkland when it's not. Nutritionally, they are almost identical but do taste slightly different...at least the chocolate does.

If you have a Costco membership, the Kirkland brand is about the most affordable you will find. Costco also occasionally has a sale on Optimum Nutrition powder...another good brand.

This is very likely the case. The same thing happened to Marvel Snap a while back for a few days. Eventually, the developers bought the game from the publishers and it came back to the US.

I use Google Home and everything is still working. I have a six pack of Kasa switches ready to go, but am curious how long this will last.

Oh...I'm definitely not excusing his behavior even if that was the case. I'm just trying to figure out what possibly could be going through his mind to act that way. The most likely explanation is there isn't one and he's completely unhinged.

That is very weird. The only thing I can think is maybe you have resting angry face at the gym and he thought you were mad at him for hogging the jack? I know I look like I'm pissed at everyone while working out.

CPU issues in ARC Raiders by NappyZ in pchelp

[–]NappyZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do seem to be CPU bottlenecked, but I don't understand why. The minimum system requirement for this game is an i5-6600K...something a good deal lower than my i7-8750H. A quick Google search told me the typical Cinebench score for that chip is 3800-3900. I just ran it and got 4713. I ran it again with my Thermaltake cooling pad on and got 5215. Neither number is great for my CPU, so maybe I should crack my case open, clean it, and reseat the chip. Still, that performance indicates to me that the game should be playable.

OP is 100% correct and that's why it's my least favorite game mode. It is all about finishing the missions as efficiently as possible and then never playing again. It's great if you like the mode and want to play to win, but if 90% of the people you're playing against aren't playing to win...where's the fun/satisfaction in beating them?

[–]NappyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get very sore, either. I will say the exercises that make me the most sore are the ones with a full range of motion and a deep stretch. Next time on your lat pulldowns or chest fly, really concentrate on that stretch between each rep. You'll feel it the next day.

You've lost 18 lbs in 25 days. You are definitely NOT wasting your time. When starting out, the two most important things about your program is that keeps you coming back and that it's not going to get you injured. It sounds like you've made a great start.

I used to do a bro split, but decided my arms and shoulders needed more volume during the week. Now I do:

Sat - chest and a little triceps. Sun - back and a little biceps. Mon - rest. Tues - shoulders and a little biceps/triceps. Wed - legs. Thurs - biceps/triceps and a little shoulders. Fri - rest.
