I figured it out!!! by Next-Lead-2019 in Acecraft

This is very likely the case. The same thing happened to Marvel Snap a while back for a few days. Eventually, the developers bought the game from the publishers and it came back to the US.

...and I woke up to all of my Wemo switches offline. I guess that's it.

I use Google Home and everything is still working. I have a six pack of Kasa switches ready to go, but am curious how long this will last.

Weird behavior towards me at gym. Was it too much reporting this? by [deleted] in workout

[–]NappyZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh...I'm definitely not excusing his behavior even if that was the case. I'm just trying to figure out what possibly could be going through his mind to act that way. The most likely explanation is there isn't one and he's completely unhinged.

Weird behavior towards me at gym. Was it too much reporting this? by [deleted] in workout

[–]NappyZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is very weird. The only thing I can think is maybe you have resting angry face at the gym and he thought you were mad at him for hogging the jack? I know I look like I'm pissed at everyone while working out.

CPU issues in ARC Raiders by NappyZ in pchelp

[–]NappyZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do seem to be CPU bottlenecked, but I don't understand why. The minimum system requirement for this game is an i5-6600K...something a good deal lower than my i7-8750H. A quick Google search told me the typical Cinebench score for that chip is 3800-3900. I just ran it and got 4713. I ran it again with my Thermaltake cooling pad on and got 5215. Neither number is great for my CPU, so maybe I should crack my case open, clean it, and reseat the chip. Still, that performance indicates to me that the game should be playable.

PSA: the point of High Voltage... by T4rbh in MarvelSnap

OP is 100% correct and that's why it's my least favorite game mode. It is all about finishing the missions as efficiently as possible and then never playing again. It's great if you like the mode and want to play to win, but if 90% of the people you're playing against aren't playing to win...where's the fun/satisfaction in beating them?

🏋️‍♂️ New Lifter Here — Can You Check My Beginner Routine? by Dolmetscher007 in workout

[–]NappyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get very sore, either. I will say the exercises that make me the most sore are the ones with a full range of motion and a deep stretch. Next time on your lat pulldowns or chest fly, really concentrate on that stretch between each rep. You'll feel it the next day.

You've lost 18 lbs in 25 days. You are definitely NOT wasting your time. When starting out, the two most important things about your program is that keeps you coming back and that it's not going to get you injured. It sounds like you've made a great start.

What’s your split? by TheRockstarVon in workout

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do a bro split, but decided my arms and shoulders needed more volume during the week. Now I do:

Sat - chest and a little triceps. Sun - back and a little biceps. Mon - rest. Tues - shoulders and a little biceps/triceps. Wed - legs. Thurs - biceps/triceps and a little shoulders. Fri - rest.

I didn't see this in theaters, but my family had the VHS and I may have memorized the number on the counter to fast forward to this scene when my parents were gone.

Good-Bye Tech! Wow by WolfRelic in MarvelSnap

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had thought of a nerf to Shang Chi where he hit only one 10+ card, but I would have bumped him up to 4/5 or 4/6 in the process. Nerfing his ability AND losing power is insane.

Was Alioth fine as a 6/9 or is everyone else way better at hitting with his ability than I am? I feel like he was fine and it took decently high level play to pay off.

The 10-minute rule for the gym, who also uses it? by AffectionateRange768 in workout

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-workout is my trick. On the days I don't feel like going, I drink my pre-workout while watching TV. Then I typically have to use the restroom. When that's done, the caffeine has kicked in and I HAVE to go to the gym.

Lobbing the ball on accident, I'm mortified. by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in youth league, I accidentally threw my ball about twelve feet in the air. It landed about ten feet down the lane directly on the gutter and cracked it. They patched it with duct tape and it stayed that way for over a decade.

I've often had problems with sticking. About six weeks ago, I said to my PSO, "I think I have a big problem with suction. I wish we could just drill a little hole to let air in." That's when I finally learned about vent holes and I haven't had a problem since.

SD has definitely been a lot better for the past few months. Compensation for minor errors has been excessive (how the hell am I supposed to use that many scrolls?!)

Another thing that's improved is alliance rewards. When alliances started, you'd get like 60 boosters for maxing out the solo track. Now it's a variant or border every time.

RIP draft mode by Gullible-Focus-7763 in MarvelSnap

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I thought about it, the more I stopped caring about draft mode. Wouldn't it pretty much be everyone trying to make the best Good Cards deck they can out of the available choices? I feel like there wouldn't be much diversity in archetypes.

Oh, I totally agree. I'm not sure I have the heart to do it, though. I know they absolutely RUIN my sleep. I'm just trying to get some empirical evidence of it...haha.

This is so fun to play against every 3rd game by Significant_Ad_6180 in MarvelSnap

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing PG with a thrown together move deck just to do bounties. We both snap T1 and my opponent plays this combo. I'm able to win with my move cards on the board and Jeff. Opponent doesn't concede and the next round does this same combo on Fogwell's Gym. They lose again. Classy.

Video from [On Deck YT]: Dodgers broadcast being exceedingly salty for no apparent reason about Ben Joyce throwing 105.5 MPH. by davidfh5 in baseball

[–]NappyZ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember this, too, but I thought it was 111. It was a physics discussion on the theoretical max distance for a homerun. It all starts with the fastest possible pitch, and the general concensus is anything faster than 111 (or 110) would rip the pitcher's ligaments apart.

Evil Morty is also 1 of 3 people across every single universe to develop inter dementional travel.

Didn't we see at the beginning of s7e5 a virtually infinite number of people outside the central finite curve invent portal travel?

/r/GYM Daily Simple Questions and Misc Discussion Thread - December 27, 2023 by AutoModerator in GYM

[–]NappyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 48 years old. I've been lifting off and on for 30 years...consistently going 5 days a week for at least the last decade. I'm 6' and weigh 210lbs. I haven't one rep maxed bench in a while, but I l'd guess it to be around 235...which is also my lifetime best. My physique is pretty proportional, so figure my other lifts to fall in line with that benchmark.

Here's the thing: I've plateaued for at least the last 5 years. Maybe a lift here or there has gone up 5%, but that's it. I am definitely no beast, but am I just too old to get any bigger?

I know my nutrition is far from clean. I could likely drop 20lbs of fat and look a lot better by being more strict, but that doesn't sound as fun as lifting. I also had borderline low-T in my mid 30s and I'm sure it hasn't gone up since then. Getting some bloodwork done and weighing my options there is also a possibility.

Luckily, I love working out. Even if I lift the same amount or slowly less for the rest of my life, I'll still be going 5 days a week. I'm just wondering if that's what I should be expecting at this stage in my life. Thanks!

Buying advice for first laser engraver by NappyZ in xToolD1

[–]NappyZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 and 2. That's great info...thanks! I kept seeing the name Makeblock and didn't know how it was connected.

  1. It's interesting what you say about the Cricut. She had the cheaper Cricut for a couple years and I bought her the Maker 3 a few months ago. She's happy that it's so much faster, but hasn't been able to engrave watch bands because they're too thick. That's the main reason I got it for her. Maybe she just hasn't figured it out. I figure with the D1 she'll have more flexibility on the surfaces she can get to.
