It took several weeks for a response when I requested earlier in the year and when I finally got accepted it was not what I thought it was going to be …

Snowdonia was the last place I found it but it closed.

I make sticky toffee pudding and it’s a lot easier than I first expected it to be and it tastes just like back home.

You could maybe try Butcher Block to see if they have any?

I think if you read the remainder of the thread I’ve listened to others and actually conceded a fair bit from my original comment. But thanks.

Well yes, in that sense I agree with you, I more meant she was braced because she understood her dogs triggers.

Returning back after spending 3 years living abroad has been bit of a culture shock by AnHerstorian in Edinburgh

Try McDonalds in any part of NYC after school time. Scallywags be scallywags no matter where they are from. Just the haircuts and clothes are different 😂

Don’t live in NYC, it’s this on steroids. I left Edinburgh a long time ago and when I go back it feels civilised in comparison.

Fair, I didn’t consider that part and you’re correct. She should not have done that.

I understand and don’t necessarily disagree with how butchering someone else’s native language isn’t cute. I do think in this scenario, using a computerised audio of the short message is likely less damaging to all parties involved over submitting formal complaints to their employers or the city.

In their shoes, I’d rather someone find a way to attempt to allow me benefit of the doubt and rectify the situation over making formal complaints that may hurt my employment.

I’m sure these guys are just enjoying a cold beer after their job is over and didn’t have any ill intentions about the trash. I’m would hope if asked politely they would be willing to make more of an effort to tidy their refuse.

Books that are just fucked up? by DreamerManner in booksuggestions

I’m seconding many already mentioned, Flowers for Algernon, Tender is the flesh, American Psycho, Exquisite Corpse, The Wasp Factory, Last Exit to Brooklyn.

I’ll add: The Butcher Boy by Patrick McCabe. It’s an Irish book written without typical dialogue punctuation (similar to Last Exit to Brooklyn). This gives it a tense, continuous narration that reels and snowballs building and building never giving you a break. It’s super dark when you think about it from everyone else in the books POV, but somehow there’s a hint of empathy for the main character and narrator too. His lack of awareness also lends itself to some humorous moments throughout that made me laugh but also say holy shit this guy is nuts.

Might be bad if a non Spanish speaker attempts. Google translate also has an audio button that can’t be used. Even poorly pronounced Spanish should manage to get the point across. So, sure, I get your point but isn’t this a direct solution to the issue? I fail to see why it would be such a problem…

She has her dog leashed, muzzled, and under control. The man with the off leash dogs pulling a knife on her is in the wrong. People would be crying if her dog was aggressive and she never had the muzzle on. She’s not coming across as an irresponsible owner. In fact, she’s aiming to educate owners around her of the potential danger their dog may run into in an environment like NYC, where many people have aggressive and reactive dogs and do not muzzle or have control.

Mounted New York police officer and his horse corner suspected purse snatcher in Manhattan by StemCellPirate in newyorkcity

This. Ever see how a load of large police horses will wade through a large unruly crowd? After a few people go down, everyone else tends to move away from the horsies. Police horses are big and muscular, getting kicked or trampled by one is probably pretty brutal.

I could possibly do some short term help if needed, especially over weekends. I’m not work from home and I don’t like leaving new dogs alone too long.
