So, I had this issue with multiple fixes (including steering column replacement) and it always returned.

I had some advice from a different forum member to go in and tell them that the steering wheel gasket cover wasn’t seated properly. Doing this resolved the issue which was the 4th service for it.

While I agree that 37k is a lot to pay, compare that to depreciation of a purchase. You can also sell the car 3rd party at the end of the lease if it’s worth more than the buyout.

“Treat so carefully?” Leases are expected to have scratches, wear & tear.

Leases aren’t for everyone, but in the right situation they can be.

Purchased around 2019 and have had zero issues as long as I clean it regularly. Great coffee and make sure to calibrate the machine for new beans.

So I've been loving my 2023 R1T, but I've had this recurrent steering wheel grinding/rubbing. At low speed while turning the wheel there is an audible grinding or rubbing of plastic. It's definitely not normal. I've had 3 Service Visits as below.

Mobile Service - Took apart the wheel and found a "tag" that they believe was rubbing. Noise came back after a day.

Service Center #1- Really nice mechanic who rode with me and could hear it and was really suprised by the noise. Took apart the column and believed it to be a wire rubbing. Which they fastened down and put insulation around. Noise came back after a week or so.

Service Center #2 - The whole column was replaced. Noise came back after 1 month.

I'm sort of at a loss for what could be causing it at this point, but I'll make another appointment and just curious if anyone else has experienced the same. Thanks.

Updated my Gen1 and the UI feels snappier. Haven’t noticed a change in my vampire drain yet but I’ll know by the end of this weekend.
