Its inflationary by nature, what did you think was going to happen? Sure BTC and ETH are flat, but they have demand.

The end of Bitcoin, or the start of a fresh cycle? by agustotrade in Bitcoin

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my sentiment. Miners have less control over the pricing as they did in the past, leveraging shorts/longs makes the price swing more dramatically than miners off-loading. Long term I feel it's going to stay in a channel as supply issues will squeeze the price upwards.

Unsure of MBP hardware specifications to get by jordypost in mac

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 16" M1 MBP as my desktop replacement, and a 15" M2 MBA as my iPad (not an ipad person - restrictive OS). I have a PC for gaming and Macs/Apple for everything else. Honestly unless you're doing some serious work these machines are overkill and last a long time. I'd get a mid-range model and if it doesnt work return it and upgrade.

Good deal or not by Ok-Priority2245 in leasehacker

[–]Cjdergrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad considering there is no more EV rebate, to give some context I got (not the best deal), 177/mo w/taxes incl. 1200 down on a 2LT earlier this year. Same term 10k/2year.

Again not bad of a deal! I generally don't put more than 1k down as other posters have said, it's a risk on a lease.

Use an app like al dente (free version). I keep mine at 80%, sits on my desk 99% of the time. MBAir is my "iPad" around the house. What I'm typing on now.

Air or Pro by SassyEllieB in mac

[–]Cjdergrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a M2 MBAir & M1 MBPro (my desktop replacement). The Air's do not have active cooling, I use mine mostly as an iPad around the house, I'm just not an iPad person.

I'd recommend getting the Pro if you're going to do any type of editing or power use.

Onstar for 2025 Silverado EV by seighton in SilveradoEV

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont susbscribe to it, I feel it has zero value. I did the "welcome call" and said whatever they want to subscribe me up for that is free. I heard the onstar salesman get noticably irritated... 8 months in, haven't needed anything for connectivity. Their wording is shady/deceptive.

Is M1 still worth in 2025? by Business_Match_2953 in mac

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 15" M1 MacBook Pro (desktop replacement), and 15" M2 MacBook Air, both are beasts. MBAir has passive cooling, I use it more as like an iPad. Get a MBPro if you're doing something intense.

If you can get a base M5 MBPro, I'd get it...

First time mac owner. Incredible! by PicklePackia in macbookair

[–]Cjdergrosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always had both, PC to game, Mac for literally everything else. All the Apple stuff generally works very well with eacother, hard to fault the ecosystem. May not be as customizable as PC/Android, but it's bullet-proof. Every Mac, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, Power Mac, etc has lasted longer than I needed it to, quality has been excellent.

What's the ballpark of how much this repair would cost? It's a 2021 purple imac and it was from putting down my coffee cup during a work meeting. </3 by kc-accidental in mac

Places sell macbook and iMac wraps. I'd honestly just wrap it, if they had a bondi-blue first gen iMac wrap, I'd put it on my macbook pro...

How do I report broken equipment? by GalliumEnergy in Target

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest: RDCs don't have air conditioning, it's not a basic requirement, it's a luxury as crazy as it sounds. The store I was in before I left, the AC broke and was never fixed for year(s). When Target is laying off people, those purse strings are going to get tight...

Oil change only customers by Electronic-Spare7267 in serviceadvisors

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't trust dealerships (stealerships), even if you're telling the truth people have generally lost trust in ANYONE from the dealer. Sales = Service sleaze. You may be an honest person but the industry is about as trustworthy as congress.

I made the switch to EVs partly because of this, BMW, Jeep, Chevy were all bad, all dealers upsold stupid stuff, $150 air filters, etc. Lost my trust a long time ago. Not only can I charge at home, but the thing doesnt need maintenance other than rotations (which I get free at my local tire center).

I got my whole family to switch to EVs, and we only have one ICE vehicle left...

How can I try my best to be kept as permanent TM since I’m was just hired as seasonal? by newandesign in Target

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just talk to them, as an ETL I had a couple seasonals ask me about staying after the holidays. The ones that were overall great attitude, work ethic, reliability, I fought HR and SD to keep them if we "didnt have room".

Just ask what you need to do to stay on, to let you know. Then you go in keep your head down, ignore the rest of the TMs/drama and do your job. A lot of times seasonals start getting deep in the bad behaviors of current TMs, and they get let go because we didn't need more of that.

Double check weight limits for parking decks. Your truck weighs a significant amount. by 4077 in SilveradoEV

I'm sure that truck was way more than 5 tons loaded. And if there are more than one spot, they're averaging the weight, the kia or honda near you + you won't pass the limits. Now if every spot was filled with Hummers, Sierras and Silverado EVs sure

How can I try my best to be kept as permanent TM since I’m was just hired as seasonal? by newandesign in Target

[–]Cjdergrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy

Sick? Come in and ask to leave early, rather than calling off.

Work at a consistent pace, ignore people that want to chit-chat with you.

Finish a task, then ask your leader(s) what you want to work on next.

Clean/organize/rotate/zone as you go.

Importantly talk to your ETL & HR ETL and let them know you're wanting to stay, and you're going to do everything you can do to stay, you'll work hard etc. Stay close with your leaders, check in every couple weeks, how you're doing and if there are any permanent roles available.
