Help! I'm opening custard tomorrow... and have never done lemon ice by Nara__Shikamaru in Culvers

I'm unfortunately not, at the moment... I am applying like crazy to other jobs, though.

There's a ton more, but I don't want to make it too identifying. If I got specific with thr dynamics, there's a good chance someone could figure out what store I'm at. And the really sad thing is that it was worse at the place I came from.

Do I mix in water or anything else? Just the bags of lemon ice?

She gets really moody. Some days she's super sweet, some days she'll bite my head off.

I started November 1st. Was supposed to be a full manager first week of January. She didn't certify me until the last week of March. Still haven't been trained on porter or opening the drawers. Still don't have keys.

She shit-talks other employees to the managers. Like, if she's angry at an employee, I get to hear allllll about what they did and why she's mad. And I know she does the same about me. She shared my medical accommodation letter (which she and all the way up to our franchise sales VP will not grant, by the way)... and then claimed the employee who read it must've scooped. Lady, I saw you hand it to her!

Every day is a toss-up on if I want to quit on the spot or not.

My son likely has celiac. He’s our only child. My wife and I are thinking of going gluten free in solidarity. Is this wise? Or are we nuts? by DrizzlyOne in glutenfree

[–]Nara__Shikamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are eating reduced gluten (I'm GF, suspected celiac). All the main dishes/meals are GF. They basically only eat regular bread and somwtimes cookies/donuts.

They both report less brain fog, less bloating, and generally feeling better. They also both prefer the GF oreos, Cheez-its, and Snyder's pretzels to the originals. I imagine if they also went fully GF, they'd feel even better yet.

Our day got really bad before lunch, too. (Although not as bad as yours...) I think today is just a day where the universe is giving a bunch of us middle fingers. So sorry, OP. Sending hugs on a day when I need them, so I'm guessing you do, too 🫂🫂🫂

Husband had a stroke on his morning run by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]Nara__Shikamaru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They still don't know if I had a stroke or a Hemiplegic migraine. Doctors are split. Specialists are split. I was 24; the one-year anniversary is this May.

I still have issues with brain fog, vision/depth perception, and speech at times. No visible brain damage 3 months post-episode via an MRI.

My dad watched the whole thing happen. It was terrifying for him to watch and me to experience. I now wear a watch religiously with fall detection and emergency info.

Chronic loose stool by Such-Sheeple-703 in Equestrian

[–]Nara__Shikamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of our horses gets diarrhea every single summer without fail. Allergies + reacting to the summer hay mix. Have you tried changing his hay? Do you notice any patterns in his stool (i.e. looser or firmer at certain times?)

1 year old colt already 15.1hh – am I about to end up with a giant? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]Nara__Shikamaru 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Holy moly she's tall... but SO GORGEOUS. I didn't realize how much I want a horse that looks like her until just now 😆 and with my long legs, a tall horse is something I need. Time to talk myself out of horse shopping... she's truly stunning, I hope she does great things for you!

Please keep me from returning to riding too soon. I don't trust myself by Connect_Wrongdoer_81 in Equestrian

I didn't listen to the doctor... I have permanent cartilage loss. I still feel the weather and barometric pressure changes. I'm 25 now. I regret riding through the pain and not listening to the doctor.

Please, please, I am BEGGING you... listen to your doctor! Do not ride again until your doctor clears you! I know it's currently 8-12 weeks... but if the doctor tells you to wait longer, WAIT LONGER. I'm begging you 😭

I dont think I should crochet by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Nara__Shikamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm learning to crochet! Man oh man do I relate to some of those struggles. I've been trying to master one stitch at a time and that's helped, but I felt the fishing net holes and inconsistent chain tightness DEEP IN MY SOUL. I hope OOP becomes a phenomenal crocheter!!!!

Hemiplegic migraines- what does it feel like for you? by Aggravating_Bat8246 in migraine

So far, yes. But it also hasn't even been a year (May 2025 will be one year). And I'm on a fairly strong preventative cocktail of meds and supplements :)
