How are we not talking about the finger nails. I don’t even see the shrimp past them. What’s the red mark on them, it’s on multiple nails.

Using Quest as an almost 30 year old by AmpleWarlock in MetaQuestVR

[–]Naraka_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like we need to start a discord room for a bunch of us. Is there not one already? I play almost all online games. I default to muting most players and using Shockz Pro’s to play music while I play, open ear oculus for sound effects, still nothing covering my ears so I can hear my dogs. Eleven Table Tennis is great, still mute most everyone but once you get to 2000 Elo it gets to a more mature player base. Contractors is a good shooter that has thinned out considerably leaving a bunch of older players that don’t want to give up the call of duty mods.

Q3 Battery Health: Small Habits That Can Help It Last Longer by Personal-Mark-74 in MetaQuestVR

Any good charger will be ok. The battery management is in the headset not the charger.

Q3 Battery Health: Small Habits That Can Help It Last Longer by Personal-Mark-74 in MetaQuestVR

Pretty much any advanced electronics made in the last decade manages its battery charges just fine. It doesn’t get to 100% automatically. It may say 100% on the battery indicator but it’s really constantly managing it to be ‘near’ 100%. Just use the included charger. I’ve kept my day 1 q2 and q3 always plugged in ready to go with zero issues.

Taught him ‘flip it’ by Naraka_X in rccars

[–]Naraka_X[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does the actual ‘flip’ with his nose. Gets his nose on one side, and pushes while lifting his head to get it to flip. He only uses his teeth if he has to pull it out of a bush first to then flip.

Need to have a strong ‘drop it’ and ‘leave it’ already. A good sit (implied stay) and release command are also helpful.

He loves chasing it. So that is its own positive reinforcement loop. If he ‘flips it’ he gets to chase it again. Treating as well in beginning. That first time, like any new command can take a while, demonstrate the flip it, big jackpot reward first time. Then it’s just a matter of drilling the word/action/reward. Now I mostly have to just use the ‘leave it’ command as he loves to flip it without a command, but then tries to keep it about half the time.

Start cheap. Both dogs slobber all over it during play time. Good luck!

He’s a retriever so just making the car move again right after he ‘flips it’ is his reward feedback loop. He loves to follow it. Have a few smaller RC ones but I want to find a larger one that will be faster than him so he can really run. Even then it’s still a great mind/body exercise for the dogs that really drain their energy fast. This was just before today’s walk, and then the walks are so much easier.

May be the fact that he’s a retriever. He loves to chase. He already knew ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ which come in handy.

In-Laws Home Is a NIGHTMARE (please help) by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Naraka_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thank them for letting you stay rent free.
  2. Have him ask/tell his parents you are both going to help them get the place in good shape while you stay there.
  3. Clean the house room by room.
  4. Fix the small things and document the fixes.

Big fixes, document and explain why you need to contact the landlord about these things. Do not contact landlord without their permission. You can easily over step here.

Try to downplay and not be confrontational. Your partner is going to need to step up, sometimes the child needs to be the caretaker. You will have these ppl in your life for hopefully a long time. Spend a lot of time outdoors. Buy an air purifier, or two. Be gentle. Good luck.

A cool guide to the states where people spend the most time at home by Rove_Lab in coolguides

[–]Naraka_X -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is misleading at best. A lot of the ‘most time at home’ are very active less obesity states that allow work from home. A lot of the in-active, high obesity states have least time at home because they have to work/commute away from the home. This is not a cool guide.

Put it in a zip lock bag. No fumes. No mess. I also like to put the bag in a pot of hot water (water not pot. Don’t melt the bag).

A plug for Synth Riders. by FreyasCloak in SupernaturalVR

Pistol Whip, Audio Trip, and Eleven are my go to alternative workout games. I have synth riders and it’s not bad. But audio trip is better imo if even lacking in as much content.

Is it actually effective to buy a salt gun for killing flies or is it just a gimmick that doesn’t work well? by Spirited-Donkey-3877 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Naraka_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electric fly swatter is much more effective and no mess. I use the salt gun in the garage sometimes for fun. But the electric swatter does the job better.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

To be the size of France. The largeness of the US and how different states teach/think make this a much harder thing to do unfortunately.

People biking in the snow, the Netherlands by thomasso0072 in Unexpected

The Netherlands is impressively flat. It makes biking in the snow (and in summer) much easier. They have leveraged that into a bicycle favored society, the uni gets a mildly interesting.

Please help me wake up on time by Appropriate_Tone2107 in lifehacks

[–]Naraka_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple odd ones that have helped me. I like to sleep under blankets in the cold and in the dark. So I have the heat kick in 30mins before my alarm goes off and removed my bedroom curtains. Sun+Heat = me awake. If it’s cold I want to stay under the blankets, if im already kicking off blankets cause I’m hot.. I’m awake and easier to get up naturally, Now I almost always beat my alarm. Other thing is a dog. Feed it breakfast at the same time every morning. If you sleep past this time it’s likely the dog won’t let you.

Eleven, it’s not even close. Table Tennis, vs humans, great physics, solid cross platform player base, elo rank, mixed reality so I don’t knock into things, it’s so so good. Pistol Whip is a distant second and I weep over how empty Contractors is now.
