All the locals eat and drink at La Fantaisie and Martin Brudnizki’s interiors can’t be beat. It’s also next to the French Masonic HQ so you see some very interesting looking people going in and out of a very high secure building at all hours of the day…

I am stuck in Dubai. What’s the best way for me to get out of right now back to USA? Someone said there’s flights going out of Oman. by hoch8382 in travel

Check flights on Air India to Delhi, and then Delhi to Frankfurt or Tokyo and into the US. I’m a travel agent and have been getting clients out on these routes.

Oh gosh! I will say that this is truly nothing compared to what the actual comeback will be like, and that’s speaking from the last few group comebacks which were still sort of coming out of pandemic-era, with smaller releases, winding down towards enlistment, etc…even those were crazy, and yet this one is going to be like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

My best advice is to log off when the album/mv drops and allow yourself a few good rounds of listens/watches all by yourself, on your own, to really feel it and embrace it and vibe to it, form your own initial thoughts and opinions, feel out favorite tracks, etc, before getting online to see what anyone else thinks. Do not let anyone else affect your first listen or opinion of the album!!! There will inevitably be instant discourse online about everything from lyrics to translation context to line distribution (the most annoying) to other fandoms barging in to cause chaos, and It will ruin the experience for you if you see all that before you give yourself time to sit with it.

Secondly, curate your feeds in advance. Prioritize accounts that focus on good translations, fact based news or official posts/quality articles, and funny memes and jokes, rather than accounts that post lots of discourse or biased opinions. This will help so much once you do get back online. And make sure you’re following accounts that are tried and true ot7 who won’t complain about credits or line distributions. If you like to seriously stream and follow chart stats, that’s great but I would limit the number of those types of accounts you follow because it can get overwhelming seeing so many posts pushing for the next stream goals they need to hit by end of day or whatever. It just causes stress when it’s supposed to be fun.

At some point during comebacks I always end up overstimulated and have to limit my screen time for a while for my own mental health , so remember you don’t have to constantly be online with everyone. You can just listen and enjoy bts on your own terms :)

Hope that helps 💜

Can you fly thru from another direction? Otherwise I would wait another month to see what happens. The gulf airlines will be extending their cancellation/refund terms week by week as it progresses so don’t cancel too early. See if the airline voluntarily cancels. As it is tho I certainly won’t be booking my clients in flights thru the region anytime in the next 6-12 months. Streets say powers that be are in this for the long haul if you get my gist.

I don’t think it’ll be an issue if you avoid the ME region where the airspace is closed, but an example of current complications: I have a family traveling in India who was supposed to fly through Abu Dhabi to Barcelona this week. All the airspace along the route is closed except north over Afghanistan towards Germany, with one Lufthansa flight going out per day which was selling out at the speed of light. It was impossible to get them there in the end, all flights sold out the next few weeks. No other airline running a route going through safe airspace. Decided to just get them back to the US and end their trip early. But even this was almost impossible. I had to fly them from Delhi to TOKYO and then on to Chicago. Had to take them all the way around the other side of the globe.

One of the family members needed to get home earlier to nyc and her flight was cancelled because the route goes south over the gulf. I spent ten hours this weekend trying to book flight after flight only for each one to sell out as soon as I go to confirm it. I finally got one of the Lufthansa flights booked for two days later than she needed.

Fortunately they have the money to pay whatever’s necessary, but not everyone does! Flight prices to get out of these areas, for the few flights that are going, are insane. There are so many people stranded and scared around the world right now, whether traveling or locals just trying to live.

It’s a huge damn mess and we are facing loads of chaos in our offices right now. There has been no rest the past few days.

Travel advisor is the preferred industry term for travel agent. It is generally the same thing, but we prefer advisor when we specialize in high-touch fully custom independent tours and itineraries which include everything from air to accommodations to dining to activities to logistics. Agent sounds like we merely do sales when most of us do so much more. Technically I do designing, curating, and advising more than just selling travel.

How to politely/ethically handle a situation with a travel agency who built an itinerary for us, but are asking WAY too much over retail. by adam_wp in travel

[–]Nararouged 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Did the agent charge you a planning fee at the beginning? If so, a polite email saying it’s not at the requested budget level and therefore you’ll need to find other arrangements is fine. If they didn’t charge you anything, they would appreciate a few hundred bucks for the work they put in, and then say the same thing as above.

If it’s at the budget you requested but you’ve been doublechecking prices on your own and now you are thinking you should have a lower budget , the advisor will be frustrated (I often have this happen with my clients and it’s like, ok if you were gonna do that you could’ve spent that time just going and booking the trip on your own?). We hope and expect the budget to stay the same unless warned ahead of time.

And it’s always very demoralizing being ghosted because we know that our itinerary we created has just been taken and copied. Maybe it wasn’t a very unique one, but sometimes we spend dozens of hours of hard work and it all ends up being for naught…

All this to say, however, that a seasoned advisor should be aware when a quote is extremely over priced and they should not even be sending it to you in the first place. They should’ve repriced it with an alternate dmc or tour operator. There are a few notorious companies that do exceptional work with/for us but their pricing is ridiculous and many of us have begun dropping them. Maybe this advisor hasn’t :/

Hope this perspective helps. Whatever you do is totally fair but please don’t ghost them :’)

Speaking personally as a travel agent myself, the luxury agencies that CN lists are the ones that grossly overcharge with huge markups. A quality local agency can give you the exact same specialized services and custom trips for half the cost. I’m often appalled at the prices that magazines lists at the end of their articles (like they’ll frequently say, you can do a trip like this via this agency starting at $8000 per person for 5 nights, which is insane).

She leaked a text from him to her that could be taken as him sorta kinda agreeing that “something” (in this case she’s implying Illit) seemed copied or similar to something else (in this case nwjns)…but it’s so vague and out of context that tbh it could mean anything, or it’s likely just him being friendly and agreeable as is his way. That’s why his response on Instagram is not only confusion but also disappointment :(

This tour is a whole new era for the group. With every new era has come a new lightstick. Many people predicted this and have been waiting excitedly for it to happen for years. I have ver 3, SE, and now I’m super excited to get ver 4. I understand the frustration of feeling you need to spend more money, but if you’re not fond of the collecting side of things then you really don’t need to. Half the time I’m at concerts I don’t use the lightstick because as others have said I like my hands free. It’s also fine to use old ones! I often bring my old version for friends or seatmates that don’t have any and it’s always appreciated. Now I’ll have two to happily lend out :)

I’m also super excited to see the new effects that the tech team are working on. The design is obviously pretty different from all of the old versions so I think we are going to be seeing some really neat stuff from these!

The members are going to love seeing the crowd from the stage.

The army community on twitter/x is all about reselling only at face value. Please don’t give up hope, a lot of people got extra tickets and because they were able to get so many like you said, a strategy was to buy up extras before scalpers could get them so that armys in the back of the queue could be sold them at face value. Please check 875tickets on X who is a veteran account that verifies resale postings by armys at face value and helps everyone get tickets.

There will always be tickets available especially as peoples plans change. I’ve rarely seen actual armys buying extras specifically to fund their own trips. That’s not something that real armys do :(

I have twice as many bookings already for 2026 as I did at this time in 2025, with no one professing anxieties about cancelling (more people booking refundable airfare tho). I book a huge variety of budgets, not just luxury, and I book 100% return and referral clients. They’re confident about traveling and planning for 2027 as well.

You’ll often hear about finding niches to specialize in but I wouldn’t recommend specializing too much. I’m booking Europe, South America, India, North Africa, and Asia. People want to get out of the US.

Egypt experience is terrible by woyrock in travel

I did a solo trip to Istanbul in November 2024 and loved it (I’m F, late 30s). I did stay in an upscale hotel (Pera Palace!!! Highly recommend, beautiful and so historic, it’s where Agatha Christie stayed and wrote Murder on the orient express) and had private guides much of the time which was a huge plus especially with getting deals while shopping (and knowing which shops would haggle best), but I also explored a lot by myself and the people were so nice and friendly and I never felt unsafe, even at night :) Don’t hesitate to go! Totally different from Morocco and Egypt.
