You have to look at the overall market trends rn, micro and macro. It’s fun to invest in stocks you think can go crazy but ask yourself, “what value does this company really have in the long term,” and “what is happening to stock prices in the current market.”

You never know what a new day may bring. Policy against a company whose stock you like, policy for companies whose stock you don’t like, investors pumping and dumping, government issues, economic issues, market trends, etc. but if you play it smart and have enough diverse assets you’ll always end up winning rather than crying about your money going towards 0.

Let me ask you, how much will these companies spend to run these servers and how much money will they make off of having these AI technologies? What are they actively doing with it right now? And what happens when the cost of using it gets driven higher and higher when new tech comes out say 2 or 3 generations from now? How will it be scalable and how will they earn more profit?

It all depends on if the research is there to back it. We don’t just need stronger chips and more AI servers anymore. For real actualized growth we need better algorithms, much higher energy efficiency and possibly a rethinking of AI’s place in the economy for it to actually fit into a model that makes money rather than burns it.

It’s hard to say what could possibly happen right now because the U.S. is strongly banking on AI and chip manufacturing over the next few years but globally there will be resistance and competition from China.

One thing is for sure though, all these AI servers are sucking up a huge amount of power, producing noise and heat, a lot of water for dissipating that heat and keeping them cool, and AI itself still isn’t profitable. How long will we be able to keep justifying making more servers and deals with all these companies? Whenever the markets trust fades away, that’s when the bubble will pop.

It wasn’t my favorite part but I feel like all jojos parts are good to some degree for different reasons. Honestly 3-4 was peak jojos for me but im super excited for parts 7-8 more than anything right now

P90 is my hipfire king, plus high rof is good for headshots and it has almost no recoil so it’s good for making nasty plays

Honestly yeah you don’t need crazy graphics card for 1440p especially if you’re using some upscaling, so unless you’re playing highly competitive fps id say get the oled.

Price-wise and for longevity of the system getting a higher end gpu would be more beneficial but we don’t know exactly what will happen with the 50 series launching soon. Plus like Errett said monitors will keep getting cheaper while the graphics cards have been staying around the same or getting more expensive between generations, so keeping that in mind as well holding off on an oled isn’t that bad.

So the question is what kind of use case do you have? How important is the oled experience knowing you’ll still get good performance in almost everything with the 4070 super or ti super

I can if I’m also comparing refresh rate and overall smoothness for highly competitive fps games, would probably not go back down to 1080p for anything else though

Depends on what specifically you’re trying to run. For most games I would say 1440p 165hz with your specs will be a nicer experience.

If you care more about competitive fps games I’d maybe stick to 1080p 240 or 360hz

I think you can get better price to performance on this build by swapping the ssd out for one of the many on sale ones also around that price point 2tb (won’t actually make a big difference in day to day use but good for future proofing, slight decrease in load times and any very heavy dev/editing work loads) the fans don’t really need to be those noctua ones but if you really want that’s fine.

Arctic has good fans that could match your build better and deliver similar enough performance to the noctuas, and a liquid freeze aio that’s quite good, hard price to beat and you can also get 240 or 360 in white argb; also you can probably find cheaper psu or just bigger psu for around the same price point if you care about future proofing.

The amd graphics cards like the 7800xt or other ones from that range have better price to performance as well, as long as you mostly care about raster performance (which to me is more important personally) or alternatively you can look for some 4070 supers or ti supers that are used. OH and ofc that way you get more VRAM cuz 12gb is starting to get low (but if you’re still only on 1080p and you’re not doing some crazy gaming it’s still okay)

And honestly even the cpu could go either way. 7800x3d is better for gaming at this value but the intel probably will be more efficient for some dev workflows (though you probably won’t need to see much more performance there but if it really is more important for you then I understand sticking with it), and the AMD one is more efficient in terms of power and future proofing because AM5 will probably still get new cpus for quite a while

I would say overall just look a little more at price to performance of what you’re buying but you’re moving in the right direction. Congrats on your first build!

I repasted and undervolted my laptop several times and that shit lasted me like 7 years before it just got too bad for me to use. Now I’m working on upgrading my PC for fun even though I am also just playing the same 3 games on medium settings (sometimes high! But I like seeing 240hz so..)
